Chapter 66 Greed Brings Retribution

Josephine was stunned. She looked up to see Sierra angrily standing in front of her.

Sierra was not angry about the position being taken up. She was only angry at the fact that she had barely left when Josephine had already replaced her. Josephine looked at her without any response.

Sierra picked up the documents on the table and glanced at them before glaring at Josephine. Then, she dumped everything on the desk into the trash bin.

The commotion had attracted many onlookers, and they whispered amongst each other. Sierra was notoriously known to be a bully at the office. No one dared to offend her, she was under Lewis's protection, so they could do nothing about it

Sierra could not be bothered to argue with Josephine She headed for Lewis's office, walking in directly without even knocking Glaring at Lewis, she huffed, "Lewis, what is the meaning of this!"

Lewis was engrossed in his documents. He paused for a moment before looking up at Sierra." What are you talking about?"

Sierra pointed outside the door and said, "That bitch Why is she in your office? I left just yesterday, and you brought her here today. What is the meaning of all this?"

Lewis stared at her without saying anything, but his gaze was overbearing.

Sierra suddenly felt a little sheepish Josephine was his legitimate wife Her making a fuss over

this was indeed a little out of line

However, she was angry He could have arranged for anyone to replace her, so why did he have to choose Josephine? Was it to deliberately piss her offi

Lewis said, "I have my plans Since you want to go into acting, just focus on that. Don't interfere with office matters since you've already left."

Sierra bit her lip She felt aggrieved and could no longer hold back her tears. "But I don't want her to be by your side She is already married to you. Now, she is even working with you What about me? Where is my place in this? No matter what, I don't agree with this arrangement. Get

her to leave!"

Lewis furrowed his brow. He barked, "Sierra, you're being unreasonable!"

Sierra was taken aback by his yelling. She looked at him in disbelief. Was what she said unreasonable?

After a moment, Sierra said, "Lewis, are you really not in love with her?"

Lewis hesitated a little. His brows creased even more. "Is that why you're here? To talk about

this?"

Sierra went over next to him and hugged his arm. She looked at him and said, "I'm here to get my stuff. I just didn't expect to see Josephine here. Lewis, you told me that you only felt responsible for her. "Since she's just a chore you have to deal with, you can just give her money and pay for her life. Why do you need to arrange for her to work in the office? She is mute. What can she do here? Why can't you just make her stay at home?"

Lewis held Sierra's hand. His voice softened. "Sierra, I've already said that I have everything under control. If you're here to take your things, go and do it. If you're not going to, just wait somewhere else. I'm going to a meeting, okay?"

"So, you intend to keep her here?" Sierra glared at him, trying to make him change his mind. "Are you going to make me repeat myself a third time?"

Sierra opened her mouth and tears fell. She said, hurt, "You don't care about my feelings at all!

Lewis looked at her. His lips twitched, but he said nothing.

"Lewis, don't be too greedy. If not, you'll get what's coming to you."

Lewis smiled slyly. He lifted Sierra's chin, nonchalantly wiped away her tears, and said, ' Everyone is greedy. Aren't you as well?"

Sierra was a little stunned; she looked at Lewis intensely. She had always wanted to know what sort of woman would be able to rein a man like him in. He might seem deeply affectionate, but only Sierra knew how detached and aloof he was. It was as if nothing of this world mattered to him.

No one could have his heart.

"Yes, so we will get what's coming for us." Sierra let go of him. She stood up and said, "If you insist on having her at the office, promise me one thing."

"Tell me."

"If she's in the office during the day, you can't go back with her at night. I don't want her to hog you day and night. You promised me that you wouldn't see her for three months, but you broke your promise!" Lewis pinched his brow. He leaned back on his chair and said, "Are you so confident that I won't keep my promise this time?"

"You're right. How could I trust that you said that you'd care for me for my entire life?" Sierra asked in retort.

She had long known that promises to him were just throwaway things. He was not the type of

person that kept promises. He merely made promises so he could do the things that he wanted to do.

Lewis raised his eyebrow "You can choose not to trust me

Sierra was at a loss for words. She said angrily, "Forget it I can't be bothered to argue with you on this I'm going to get Josephine to help me carry my things. Can I at least do that?"

"You can ask her yourself. If she agrees, I have no objection."

Sierra picked up the internal office phone and said playfully, "I want you to tell her. Don't tell me that you can't even do such a small thing for me?"

Lewis looked at the phone in her hand without accepting it "What are you planning on taking?

"Just some daily necessities. Don't worry, I would never dare to make your wife do hard labor!"

She almost said the word wife through gritted teeth. That also seemed to have provoked Lewis and his expression darkened.

Then, he grabbed the phone from Sierra and dialed the internal line.

Josephine retrieved all the documents from the trash and studied them seriously. She did not care what Lewis's purpose was in making her come to the office Since she was already there, she decided to work hard. It was good that she could learn a thing or two too as this could add some color to her otherwise boring life

The phone rang and she quickly picked it up. Lewis's voice came through "Help Sierra carry some things." Then, he hung up, leaving Josephine in a daze for a long time.

After a short while, Sierra strutted over in her heels. She slapped Josephine's desk. "You hear that? Let's go

Josephine looked at the phone in her hand. Lewis actually asked her to help Sierra carry things.

She pursed her lips and put the phone down. Then, she stood up and signed. "Carry what?"

Sierra did not understand what Josephine was signing, but neither was she planning on learning to understand her. She packed up a few of her belongings and placed a box on the desk. "You'll carry this Josephine lifted the box. It was so bulky and heavy that it blocked her view when she lifted it up. She had to cock her head to the side to see where she was going

She followed Sierra to the elevator when Lewis walked over with some documents in his

hands. The three of them met.

Josephine's view was blocked by the box so she could not see him, but Sierra saw him and went up to him to hug his arm.

"Lewis, thank you so much. I don't know how I was going to carry such a huge box by myself.”

Lewis swept an ambivalent look at the box in Josephine's arms. He said nothing and merely pressed the button on the elevator.

Josephine quietly stood by the corner, clutching the box tightly, as if she was an outsider witnessing two flirting love birds. She was glad that the box was big enough to hide her embarrassment.
