Tina smirked and said coldly, “Breaking up with Hansel will be the biggest mistake of your life. Without him, you’re nothing.
“Don’t get too full of yourself. Just because you aced the written exam, it doesn’t guarantee you’ll make it through. Let’s see how it turns out.”
With that, she lifted her chin and walked away.
Miranda kept a straight face, turned away, and hailed a cab.
why didn’t you
When Winter heard what had happened, she was livid. smack her? You just let her walk away without saying anything?
“I’m getting increasingly worked up about this. Is that annoying brat still at Bedford College? I’ll head over there now and teach her a lesson.”
Miranda laughed wryly. “Relax. Those were just some trivial jabs. I’ve heard stuff like that countless times.
As she spoke, she leisurely cut into her steak and put a piece in her mouth. The tenderness was perfect, and each bite burst with rich, creamy flavor. It was as satisfying as ever.
Winter was puzzled by her carefree attitude. “Are you a doormat? How can you put up with all that?”
Miranda chuckled. She set down the cutlery, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and asked, “Have you ever heard of this saying?”
“What?” Winter asked,
Miranda said, “The best way to get back at someone isn’t with a slap or a sharp comeback; it’s to show indifference to what they care about most and easily achieve what they desire. I’m confident I’ll ace the second–round interview, but I’m not so sure about her.
Apart from her family, Tina’s only concern was her postgraduate admission exam result. Miranda knew that anyone relying on family influence and bribes to pass had already lost the race.
Winter finally understood and gave her a thumbs up. “You’ve nailed it.”
Everyone in their circle knew Tina’s strengths and weaknesses. In this situation, she would need all the luck she could get to pass the second–round interview,
It seemed that luck had been on Miranda’s side. When the second–round interview results were announced, she had aced both the written test and the interview. So, she was accepted into Bedford College.
On the contrary, Tina ranked fourth overall and failed to get accepted. She was only one point behind the third–place candidate.
At the Johnson mansion, the loud clatter of things breaking echoed from upstairs.

Chapter 0174
After receiving her results, Tina locked herself in her room and smashed everything in sight. Even her favorite designer bags weren’t spared.
Her screams and howls punctuated the air, mixed with occasional fits of laughter that made it seem like she had lost her mind. The housekeepers tiptoed around and were terrified of becoming her next target. Hansel pushed open the door and looked at the mess. The room was a disaster, with barely any space to walk. His forehead throbbed, his veins bulging.
“Are you done with your tantrum?” he asked. “It’s not the end of the world just because you didn’t get in. You can always take the exam again next year.”
Tina’s bloodshot eyes and furious expression showed she had finally found an outlet for her frustration. I’m already dealing with enough crap. Am I not allowed to lose it? This house isn’t just yours. If you can’t stand it, then leave!”
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “You can keep throwing a fit if you want, but do it outside. Your outburst is affecting everyone else in the house.”
She felt even more aggrieved under his stern gaze. “I’m not going anywhere. Why should I be the one to leave?
“If it weren’t for Miranda, I wouldn’t have failed. It’s all her fault. You should’ve let her stay home to be a housewife. Why the heck did she have to take that postgraduate admission exam? You’re at fault, too.”
