Hansel was getting a headache from Tina’s unreasonable outbursts. But the mention of Miranda made him tensed up instinctively.

After returning from Marvedis, he sent countless text messages to Miranda using different numbers. As expected, he didn’t receive any reply, so he made endless trips to her apartment. The frustration of not being able to replace her made him restless.

When he heard about Miranda again from Tina, he was shocked. “What are you talking about? What does Miranda have to do with this?”

Tina snapped, “Everything is related to her. She aced the exam and came in first. Do you know how frustrating that is? Dr. Young is only accepting three students this year. I barely missed the cut because I was ranked fourth.”

If it hadn’t been for Miranda, she would have moved up one spot. The anger of almost succeeding but failing at the last moment was eating her up inside.

Hansel was stunned. “Are you saying she passed the exam?”

“Yes, and she did really well. Is that what you wanted to hear? She’s thriving without you and has also successfully enrolled at Bedford College as a postgraduate student.

“Are you regretting letting her go now? You should have kept a better eye on her. She’s making my life miserable. Tina broke down in tears as she spoke.

She continued, “You’ve kept her confined for six years. Couldn’t you have held onto her a little longer? Now she’s gone and only going to get further out of reach. You’ll never get her back-”

“Enough!” Hansel looked at Tina with a fierce, predatory glare. “Your poor results only show your incompetence. Stop trying to blame others. I won’t listen to this crap again. Otherwise…”

The room fell silent, and she recoiled at his threatening look.

The tension was broken when Evelyn walked in. She looked at the mess on the floor and then at Tina’s frightened posture.

She had overheard the entire argument between the siblings and was not pleased. She was stunned to learn that Miranda had passed the postgraduate admission exam.

When Evelyn saw Miranda at the library, she thought Miranda was just putting on an act to impress her. She never imagined Miranda was seriously preparing for the exam.

Miranda not only aced it with flying colors but also ended up enrolling at Bedford College.

Evelyn sneered at the thought. So, what if Miranda did well? Regardless of her qualifications, Miranda would never be welcome in the Johnson family.
