When Love Comes Late -
Chapter 927
Mateo Looked calm and composed as he instructed Stella, “Please make yourself comfortable and relax.
We’ll start the treatment shortly.
Let’s watch a video first.
”
Stella gave a slight nod.
She clenched her fist for a moment before letting her fingers relax on her lap.
Casting a glance at Matthew, she found comfort in his presence.
As Stella fixed her eyes on the TV screen, Mateo played a harrowing video depicting a severe car collision.
It showed a heavy-duty truck colliding with a sedan at high speed, flipping it over.
The smaller vehicle skidded for a hundred meters from the impact.
As it scr@ped against the road, sparks flying and smoke billowing from the car’s hood.
There were shards of glass scattered everywhere.
The graphic scenes sent Stella into a state of distress.
She couldn’t breathe.
Sweat trickled down her back, forehead, and palms.
She instinctively averted her eyes, struggling to cope with the intense imagery.
Mateo closely monitored Stella’s reaction as she went into a trance-like state.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable?” he asked with a straight face.
Stella, trying to stabilize her breathing, simply nodded in response.
“Did this video trigger any memories for you?” Mateo pressed on.
While Stella’s mind wrestled with fragmented memories struggling to resurface, she shook her head.
Her attempts to regulate her emotions proved futile.
“Stella, Lift your head and take a good look at the video.
Does anything come to your mind?” Mateo’s tone became more assertive.
Stella gave the screen another fleeting glance before turning away, her discomfort intensifying.
“No… I don’t want… I don’t want to see it…”
Matthew’s brows furrowed.
He held her hand and wrapped his other arm around her, drawing her close.
“It’s okay.
It’s just a video,” he whispered soothingly.
However, Stella’s turmoil only escalated.
She pulled away from Matthew’s comforting embrace, her face getting pale.
“This is nonsense.
I can’t do this anymore.
I want to leave.
”
A whirlwind of emotion engulfed Stella, compelling her to speak words that seemed uncharacteristic of her.
Matthew’s face grew stern as he observed her state.
Turning to Mateo, he spoke with concern.
“She’s not in the right frame of mind at the moment.
Perhaps we should postpone this session.
”
Mateo remained silent, his gaze intensely focused on Stella.
“Does this video scare you? What exactly are you afraid of? The blood, the accident, or the thought of the deceased?”
