"Who says I'm just an employee? If we win this bid, I'll be getting stock options and shares in Maple Group."

After Lemira finished speaking, Evelina couldn't hide her astonished expression. Was Maple Group really that generous? No wonder Lemira was so desperate to get the data from Asher!

Evelina felt a pang of jealousy, realizing her own efforts wouldn't let Lemira have all the glory.

Alaric, however, had a complex look on his face.

Evelina was right; Lemira was becoming more and more successful and didn't even consider the Langstons anymore.

If Lemira faced a downfall and hit a rough patch, that's when she'd realize the worth of the Langston family.

Then, he could help Lemira out.

Maybe then, Lemira would stick with family and rejoin his team.

Alaric regretted not seizing earlier opportunities and wished for a reset.

This could be his chance.

Seeing Alaric didn't blow her cover, Evelina quickly said, "Alaric, let's go. Asher should be here any minute." Without saying a word, Alaric followed Evelina out.

Lemira sat in front of her computer, glanced at the PowerPoint on her desktop, and shut it down.

Soon after, the folks from Maple Group arrived.

"The boss, Mr. Draven, said he couldn't make it. We'll handle things on our end," the team leader said.

"Sure."

Lemira found it odd that Thaddeus didn't show, especially since he invited her to join yesterday. But she brushed it off, assuming work must have come up. Before long, the room filled up.

Asher, leading a sizable entourage, walked in with an air of confidence.

Lemira glanced at Evelina, who seemed to falter under her gaze.

Asher made his way to Lemira: "Heard the Sinclairs stopped their sponsorship of your squad. With you as captain, ready to bear the costs on your own? How deep areyour pockets?"

"My finances are none of your concern."

Asher leaned over Lemira's desk with a cold tone, "I'm offering you a way out. Admit your mistake now, and I'll cover all your club's expenses on behalf of the Sinclairs. What do you say?"

Lemira raised an eyebrow, "Keep your peanuts to yourself. Don't embarrass yourself!"

Unintimidated, her expression was cool and defiant.

Asher glared at her, "Alright, you asked for it. I'll make sure you lose so badly, you'll acknowledge defeat willingly!"

"We'll see about that!" Lemira retorted with a bold and sharp look.

Fuming, Asher stormed back to his seat, his gaze on Lemira full of animosity.

But Lemira remained calm, unshaken by the confrontation.

The people from Maple Group were taken aback.

After all, they had done their

homework on the competition. Asher's from a well-respected family, more influential than Maple Group.

Facing such aggression from the other boss, Lemira didn't back down.

The team leader whispered to Lemira, "Weren't you a bit too brash? They're a powerful company, after all."

"Do you have some history with Mr. Langston? Or some beef?"

Lemira nodded, "Yeah, there's history!"

Asher trying to make her bow? Not happening!

The official announcement began, prompting participating companies to present their Al projects.

The Langston Group went first.

Asher took the stage, his CEO presence commanding attention, delivering a compelling introduction. Maple Group's team members paled upon seeing their presentation.

"Lemira, why does their content sound so similar to ours?"

Lemira stood up, raising her voice, "Because they've stolen our ideas!"
