Winning Her Heart Back (Emelie Hoven ) -
Chapter 883
Chapter 883 Come With Me
Yennifer carefully took out a bracelet and placed it on Emelie's wrist. It complemented her wedding dress and jewelry perfectly.
"This has been passed down through generations of the Pierce family. Keep it with you when you get married," Yennifer said.
Emelie gently caressed the bracelet, her eyes shimmering with emotion. She nodded and said, "Thank you, Mom."
Yennifer's eyes welled up with tears. She wanted to embrace Emelie, but she hesitated, concerned that she might ruin Emelie's hair.
"Mandy, I promise I'll give you even more wonderful things in the future. Whatever you want, I'll make sure you have them all," she said.
Emelie leaned in and hugged Yeniffer, and Yennifer gently patted Emelie's back.
Emelie's gaze lingered on the door. Though people kept passing by, the person she hoped to see didn't appear, not even a shadow appeared.
At 8:30 a.m., the sound of firecrackers erupted outside the Denning Residence.
The celebration was a fusion of Cedonian and Wyvernian traditions, with the firecrackers echoing for miles around Mercianna.
A convoy of cars entered the manor gates, consisting of 18 black Rolls-Royces, undoubtedly a display of grandeur. Samuel stepped out of the lead car, dressed in his wedding attire. He looked up at the second floor, then down at his watch before heading inside with his groomsmen.
The wedding followed all the traditional customs and ceremonies.
A few flower girls offered blessings and playfully asked for gifts. Meanwhile, the bridesmaids blocked the path of the groom and his crew, challenging them.
Samuel had to answer their questions or complete the tasks and games given. And if he couldn't, he had to give out more gifts.
Nevertheless, it was all in good fun, and the activities were meant to liven up the atmosphere.
Laughter filled the air downstairs while Emelie sat alone on the bed. She had been quietly playing with the bracelet. Though a faint smile curved her lips, her mind was blank. She felt unusually calm.
Finally, the person in charge of the ceremony checked the time for the last game. When it was nearly right, he let the groom and his groomsmen enter the room.
Emelie looked up and flashed a smile at Samuel, which prompted cheers from the groomsmen.
"The final challenge, of course, is replaceing the wedding shoes. If you can't replace them, you can't take the bride away. The bride will be mine!" Mona said, half-joking, half-serious.
With that, the groom and groomsmen started searching the room. They looked inside the cabinets, under the bed, and around the furniture. However, they couldn't replace the hidden wedding shoes.
Samuel bent down in front of Emelie. He whispered, "Can't you give us a hint? My... to-be wife?"
Emelie smiled innocently and said, "I don't know where they hid them. Just keep looking."
With the clock approaching 9:09, the person in charge urged, "Hurry, groom and groomsmen! Time is running out!"
Emelie watched with a smile as everyone searched for the hidden wedding shoes.
Suddenly, a wave of emotion made her feel a pang of sadness. She quickly looked down, trying to hold back the
tears.
Just then, she caught a whiff of a faint but deeply familiar scent.
Emelie's heart tightened sharply, and she slowly looked up.
A man appeared with the hidden wedding shoes in his hand. He knelt on one knee at Emelie's feet and gently held her ankle.
"I found them. Does that mean you'll marry me?" he asked.
He looked up at her, unwavering.
Emelie gazed at his slightly pale face and held her breath. It felt as if the air was draining from her lungs, making it hard for her to breathe. She trembled beneath her layers of wedding dress.
He came. In the end, he came.
But he came only now.
Emelie clenched her jaw tight. "Are you the groom? Just because you found the shoes doesn't mean you're entitled to me. Do you really think that you have the right?"
The man carefully helped her put on the shoes, his movements gentle.
Emelie pulled her foot away, refusing his touch.
"I've listened to you, William. I didn't marry Wesley. The person I'm marrying is Samuel. This is my choice, and I'm completely happy with it. Leave. Leave now and don't ruin my wedding day," she snapped.
William knew that it was her choice and being with Samuel was her decision.
Samuel was different. He and Emelie had years of history, and she would be happy with him.
William wanted to congratulate them. Since last night, he has tried to convince himself countless times. However, he still couldn't let go.
William looked up at her with a broken, pleading gaze.
"Leave him. Angel, come with me, please. We were together first, remember..." he said, his voice trembling.
