When my mate walked into the house everyone stared at us, Arrowstayed close if anything were to go wrong. Everyone saw his armaround me and quickly excepted him because hell, he was my mate! Ialso knew if he had wanted to hurt me he would have by now.

"Quinn are you all right?" a hand waved in front of my face

"Yes, I'm fine but something more important is who are you and whatare you doing on my alpha's territory without his permission " I wasn'tstupid I knew from reading about wolves that they were extremelyterritorial. Before I even realized what had happened he had grabbedme and lifted me on the island countertop thing and got right in myface. Oh boy.

"I guess it is important to tell you who I am but more importing is I'man alpha, I sure as hell don't respect your tone of voice and at thismoment, not one of those wolves, not even your father will help you.You stepped out of line. Even your father knows it and if you did that tohim he would be doing the very same thing I am, Alpha's son or not.Understand mate?"

I waited for him to hit me like my mother had after she yelled at me,but no hits came. Instead, he looked at me with concern in his eyes andI immediately wanted him out of my face. I shoved him away and ranoutside. I hid in the long grass of the field and watched the sky. No-onecame outside to get me not even my mate who got in my face for noreason! I was a little upset that he didn't bother to come to check if Iwas all right. When I finally walked back into the house I heard myfather talking to my mate I was sure.

Kane's P.O.V

"My deepest apologies I yelled at him, he must know something ofwolves, he is one of us clearly.”

"Kane it's fine I understand, it is just today is not going well for him, hejust only found out he was a wolf, he had only just changed today. Hismother never told him *

"You're wife never told him he was a wolf? How is that possible?"Alpha Ryan's face scrunched up just a tad.

"His mother wasn't my wife nor is she, my mate

"Luanne isn't his mother, I thought she was "

Quinn's P.O.V

I listened to their chat up until this point I walked into the kitchen madas hell they both turned my way.

"How are you m....."

"You just shut up!" I screamed

My dad opened his mouth to speak but I cut him off.

"Luanne isn't my mother! I'm glad about that because you know what Iwould have had to see my horrible poor excuse for a father every day!it is Luanne's fault that my mother's gone if she never knew my father Iwould still have a happy family! Not this fucked up bull-shit excuse fora father and a wannabe mother *

Luanne was standing in the kitchen. In two steps she was in my spaceand she had slapped me. My face stung. Kane who had a front-row seatto the show, had grabbed me and pulled me into his lap where Isobbed. When I felt better I got up off his lap and walked over to oneof the other kitchen chairs and sat down and put my head in my handashamed with how I acted. I wasn't like that. I felt someone grab a holdof my hand and rub it calmly I knew it was my mate

"Quinn?"

I looked up and saw that it was Luanne who was talking to me, guilt-filled me.

"I'm sorry. Luanne, I never meant to be rude! You never did anything tome! I'm glad you make my father happy! I really am.”

“No! Quinn, I'm sorry, I never should have slapped you! I just got madbecause I've always Though you as my son! I was so mad at yourmother when she refused to give you to your father. You should havenever seen your mother like that and when you said all that I felt like soangry! I'm so sorry too!"

"I never once knew any of that..." I dropped my head on the table. I feltsomeone rest their hand on my head but, I knew it was Kane justlooking to make sure I was okay.

"Quinn, I think you and Luanne should have a mother-son day, youknow get to know each other.”

"Okay, that sounds like fun, I've waited so long for this! "

I smiled I had never had a mother-son day before, mom had alwaysbeen to busy for me.

"I'm hungry " Kane grumbled, I got up out of my chair to look for foodas I was also hungry when I went to walk past my mate he hugged mefrom behind and whispered in my ear

"I have something I could give you but I don't think it will full yourneed for food"

My face turned red all over and I was thankful that I was the only one tohear him say those dirty things. but I must have prayed wrong becauseLuanne smiled my way her eyes telling me she heard what he said."Well, I'm going to make dinner so I can feed you two, Then your matehave his way with you"

"What!"
