Chapter 1628, Only One Week

Nina felt like she had received a pardon, and hastily called out, “Themedicine, the medicine has arrived." She pushed Chris aside and sliddown from the desk, running towards the door. When she opened thedoor, she saw a female receptionist bringing alcohol, gauze, and othermedical supplies.

When Nina took the supplies, she thanked the receptionist softly.Through the crack in the door, the receptionist caught a glimpse of aman in the room with his shirt off. She blushed and glanced at Nina, who appeared soft and weak, but was surprisingly passionate. Richpeople nowadays are getting more and more adventurous.

Nina noticed the receptionist's strange look, and realized that she hadbeen misunderstood. Feeling very embarrassed, she quickly closed thedoor. Her heart was pounding as she turned around and carefullywalked towards Chris.

Chris, who was angry, was sitting on the couch at the moment. "Let mehelp you apply the medicine," Nina said, timidly pulling his arm andkneeling beside him. She opened the iodine and carefully disinfectedhis wounds.

As she painstakingly cleaned his wounds one by one and wrapped hisbleeding arm with gauze, Chris's patience grew thinner with eachpassing moment. Every movement she made was torture to him, andhe eventually couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed her and pulled heronto his lap, impatiently asking, “Are you done yet?"

Nina timidly lay on his chest and didn't move. "Okay, okay, I'm done,"Chris said, pinching her chin and forcing her to look at him. "How comeyou're acting like a coward now? You were like a little wildcat earlier, showing your claws.”

"I, I didn't..." Nina lowered her head.

Earlier, she was too anxious and only cared about his injury, forgettingeverything else. Now, she realized that she had spoken loudly to himand felt very upset.

"Now, do what you're supposed to do," Chris commanded. “I can seethat you're getting more and more capable. If you can't satisfy me, doyou know what the consequences will be?"

Nina bit her lip and wondered how she could do it. Everything she didwas out of her own will. She even kissed his wounds boldly, but evenwith a hundred times more courage, she wouldn't dare to do it again."Hurry up,” Chris urged, breathing heavily.

Nina closed her eyes and shyly hugged him, taking the initiative to offerher lips to him. His lips were as sharp as a blade.

It was dawn.

Chris had woken up already. As a soldier, he had an accurate biologicalclock and would wake up at the same time every day, no matter howlate he slept.

They had been up all night.

This time, she didn't faint. She endured what he gave her for the firsttime.

Now, she was sleeping in his arms.

As the morning light seeped through the curtains, he looked at her upclose. She was really beautiful, with a small face and lips naturallycolored pink.

Her short hair was slightly messy. He moved closer, reaching out tonaturally tuck her hair behind her ears, further admiring her clear face.He suddenly felt a little dry in his throat.

Actually, he had shown her mercy last night. When she couldn't bear itanymore and begged him, he had softened.

In the end, he went to the bathroom. The water he ran was alreadycold. He took a cold shower.

He sighed and gently stroked her cheek. Forget it, let her adapt to himslowly.

Nina woke up in his touch.

She didn't sleep deeply, having lived in a tense environment for a longtime. She had always been a light sleeper.

It was a bit cold on the spring morning, and she snuggled into his arms, enjoying his warmth.

Chris chuckled softly, hugging her like a small cat.

Nina closed her eyes for a while longer. Suddenly, she rememberedsomething and sat up straight from Chris's embrace, asking urgently,"What time is it?"

Chris glanced at the time on the bedside and asked, "It's seven o'clock, what's wrong?" Nina quickly got out of bed and said, "Oh no, it'sTuesday today, I have to go to class." It would take an hour to get backto school from the hotel. The most crucial issue was that she had comeout in her pajamas last night, so how could she go back like this?

Just as she was getting anxious, Chris pulled her back onto the bedand said, "What class? Call Dr. Knight later and ask for a week off."

"A week off?" Nina was stunned and shook her head repeatedly, “Ican't, I have an exam coming up. The class isn't over yet, and I haven'treviewed it yet." Moreover, if she disappeared for a week, everyonewould know what she had been doing. Most importantly, her theoreticalfoundation was weak, and she might fail the exam.

Chris frowned and said coldly, “Is the exam more important than me?Take a week off and stay with me at the hotel, don't go anywhere.""I..." Nina opened her mouth, but asking her father for a week off andstaying with him at the hotel, sleeping with him... how could she say it?Chris glared at her displeasedly and said, "Do you want me to tryanother method?" As he spoke, he leaned closer to her ear, his hotbreath spraying on her neck. "Make you unable to get out of bed?Unable to leave the room?"

Nina's cheeks turned red and her whole body was burning. She hadbarely managed to withstand it last night, and now he was suggesting aweek, which was simply unimaginable. She bit her lip and lookedhelpless.

Seeing her hesitation, Chris leaned against the bed and suddenlylowered his voice, “I'm leaving."

Nina was startled and trembled as she looked back at him. He wasleaving? Was he going back to Alvonia? She didn't know when hewould be back...

So he came to replace her before leaving. This was also a farewell. Shesuddenly felt a sharp pain in her heart, forgetting to breathe, and twolines of tears flowed down without warning.

She quickly turned away, wondering what was wrong with her, crying infront of him like this.

“I'm sorry, I'll ask for leave. My eyes are a bit uncomfortable, I'll go tothe bathroom." After speaking, she quickly stood up and walked into thebathroom. She needed to control her emotions.

Chris watched her back, feeling mixed emotions. He had seen herclearly just now, with a face full of reluctance and even tears. But evenso, she still refused to go back to Alvonia with him. Whether it wasbecause of her status or not wanting to burden him, she was stubbornand even heartless.

Even if he came back to see her regularly, they still had to endure longperiods of separation. The days they could spend together were right infront of him, just this one week.
