You Hit My Heart
Chapter 1635: Respect The Choices

Chapter 1635: Respect the Choices

Joyce lifted her head, "Dad, Mom. After two decades, I've finallyreturned home. As a child in the orphanage, I envied those who hadparents. Every time someone came to adopt my friends, I'd secretlywish that one day someone would take me away too. As time went by,this desire faded. I never thought I would replace my biological parents inthis lifetime. Even now, it sometimes feels unreal."

Tears welled up in Cecelia's eyes. She subtly turned her face away, wiping at the corner of her eye.

“You've been suffering all these years, wandering outside,” she saidquietly.

Ralph sighed, "Your mother has never given up looking for you thesepast twenty years. She's been living with guilt and pain all this while. Now that we've finally reunited, my heart is finally at peace.”

Joyce moved forward and clasped Cecelia's hands, "I've never blamedyou. All the hardship I went through before is nothing compared to whatwe have now. We've been apart for over two decades, and I deeplywish to be by your side, to make up for the years we've lost.”

Luther straightened up, his sharp eyes narrowing. Why was Joycesaying all this suddenly? Was it possible...?

He had a vague premonition and held his breath.

As expected, Joyce took a deep breath.

"But, Dad, Mom, I want to go back to Khebury."

Cecelia was slightly taken aback, although it was within herexpectations.

Joyce turned to look at Ralph, “I know I haven't fulfilled my filial duties. But Dad, you're still young, not even sixty. You're at the peak of yourauthority, and the military needs you to maintain stability. Although I'veinherited the military rank, my heart isn't in it. When the family was introuble, I naturally stepped forward. But now that everything is stable,lL."

She paused, "I don't want to participate in special training, and for now,I haven't thought about commanding the entire military.”

Seeing Joyce's firm gaze, Ralph became more serious. He didn'tspeak, waiting for her to continue.

At this point, Luther stood up, walked to Joyce's side, and helped herup, "The floor is cold, let's sit and talk.”

He wrapped his arm around her waist and sat her down on the sofa, touched. He knew she was doing all this for him, that she didn't want tobe apart from him.

Joyce looked at Luther, "I know you're under a lot of pressure. Thefuture direction of R&S Group, whether to move the headquarters to theCapital or to keep it in Khebury, and just set up a branch in the Capital. The board members have strong opinions about moving theheadquarters. After all, the Capital is the political center, while Kheburyis Pascaylia's largest commercial hub. It's not suitable for the long-termdevelopment of R&S Group.”

“It doesn't matter. They wouldn't dare to object,” Luther said with aslight smile. He could manage, she was worrying too much.

"You've done a lot," she said, looking at him, her eyes filled withwarmth.

Luther paused, held her hand, and couldn't help but pull her closer.

At this moment, Cecelia spoke, "Today is a happy day, why are wediscussing such heavy topics? Joyce, your father was just sharing histhoughts. As for your choices, we certainly respect them. Khebury is agreat place, I like Khebury too. I'm tired of staying in the Capital, wehave a house in Khebury. We can move there anytime."

Ralph nodded, "Since you don't want to inherit the military for now, Iwon't force you. Don't worry, those elders, still holding power at the ageof eighty. I can manage the military for another two decades with noproblem. Hahaha."

Ralph patted his chest and laughed heartily.

Joyce didn't expect them to agree so easily, and she let out a deep sighof relief.

She had been grappling with this for many days, always feeling like shewas letting her parents down.

“If you want to go back to Khebury, then go. I will live in both the Capitaland Khebury, taking care of both places. Children grow up and naturallyhave their own lives. How could I make up for the time we lost whenyou were young by spending more time with you now?" Cecelia smiled,"Your dad will also come over when he has time. We can reunitefrequently, that's enough.”

Ralph nodded, "Yes. After the new presidential election, I'll hand oversome military power, so I won't be as busy as I am now."

"As for the matter of inheriting the military..." Cecelia beganJust asCecelia was about to speak, Anderson suddenly popped out from acorner.

"What's so difficult about this? In my view, it's easy to solve."

Cecelia laughed, "Andres, did you hear our conversation just now?""Yep. I heard some of it." Anderson hopped over.

Ralph grabbed Anderson and hoisted him onto his lap, "Give grandpa ahug. Oh, you're heavy."

"So, are you willing to inherit the Heath family?" Ralph pointed to hismilitary uniform, and the stars on his shoulder, "Do you want to wearthis? If you grow up in the military, your reputation will be self-evident.Just like your Uncle Hurley."

Anderson rolled his eyes, “I don't want to."

He pointed to Joyce's belly, "Mommy has two brothers in her belly, grandpa and grandma, aren't you afraid that no one wants to inherit theHeath family? Maybe one of them is naturally cut out for it."

"Hmm, that makes sense,” Ralph nodded.

Cecelia started laughing, "Andres is right. It's too early to worry aboutsome things. I just want you all to be happy.”

At this point, Luther said, "Mom, Dad, actually Joyce and I have talkedabout this before. The two boys, one will be named Wilson, the otherCullen. Let's not decide who gets which name yet. First, give themnicknames. When they grow a little older and we see who has moreshooting talent, we'll then decide who gets the name Cullen. He willinherit the military.”

Cecelia paused, "Tian Zi and Kirin? You've chosen great names.Luther, thank you for being so thoughtful.”

Ralph looked surprised and appreciative.

He stood up, walked over, and gently patted Luther's shoulder. Whilehe didn't say anything, his sentiment was clear.

Anderson suddenly chimed in, “I heard Uncle Hurley boasting, heinherited the Alvonia military when he was a teenager. If he could do it,my brother definitely can. Ha, grandpa, you'll still be young in eighteenyears."

Cecelia laughed, "Chris wasn't boasting, he grew up in the military andinherited the leadership before he was an adult. Chris should beleaving soon, you should all get together before he leaves.”

Joyce nodded, "Yes, we've already arranged a time. Karl and Kane willbe there too, everyone will be there."

After everyone had spoken their minds, the atmosphere became muchmore relaxed.

They chatted about many other topics.

Finally, Cecelia asked, "When do you plan to go back to Khebury?"Before Luther could speak, Joyce quickly said, "Next week. I'll handlesome things here in the Capital and say goodbye to my friends. If thereare no surprises, I'll go back next week."

Cecilia gently nodded.
