Chapter 1636: Cloud Disk Records
After the meal in the warlord's inner courtyard, Luther and Joyce bidfarewell to Ralph and Cecelia, then took Anderson back to the RoseCourt Apartment.
Along the way, Anderson, somewhat tired, fell asleep in the car.
Luther, driving the car, glanced at Joyce and suddenly asked, "Are youthinking of returning to Khebury for me? Thank you."
Joyce's beautiful eyes half-closed, she leaned back in her seat to rest,"You ask knowing the answer."
Luther, somewhat excited, placed a hand on hers, "You don't actuallyneed to make such a big sacrifice. I'm fine, really.”
"Are you willing to part ways again for three years?" Joyce suddenlyopened her eyes, "You can still back out now. I can make a call and tellthem.”
As she spoke, she took out her phone.
"No." Luther quickly stopped her, "Not to mention three years, eventhree hours would be torture.”
He held her hand, "I hope to always be by your side."
To be honest, on one side was a long-lost relative, and on the otherside was him. Joyce chose to return to Khebury with him, and hecouldn't express how happy he was inside.
“I grew up in Khebury, I'm accustomed to the food and climate there.Besides, if I move QR Design Company back to Pascaylia, Kheburywould be the most suitable location. It's conducive to long-termdevelopment.” She rubbed her forehead, “I don't want to give up on mycareer.”
“I'l make space for you in the R&S Group headquarters."
Before Luther could finish, Joyce had already refused, "No, I want myown independent office building. I don't want to become yoursubsidiary. And I don't want to share an office building with you. There'snever a serious moment."
She joked, if she were at the R&S headquarters, she felt she couldn'twork properly. This man beside her, his mind was always on otherthings.
Looking at her wary expression, Luther couldn't help but laugh quietly. Was it really that exaggerated?
Joyce gave him a white look, and he still had the nerve to laugh.Luther reached out and poked her temple, joking, "I'll definitely leave anoffice for you, don't forget that you're also a member of the R&S Groupboard of directors, a shareholder. These years I've been holding yourshares for you, voting for you. It's time to give them back to you. Theseare the shares your grandmother left for you. It's your responsibility tocarry them.”
Joyce muttered, “I got it, just drive properly.”
Luther turned his head back to concentrate on driving.
But he was calculating in his mind, next week was when the DonaldBiopharmaceutical team would arrive, and Joyce suddenly said shewould return to Khebury next week? Was there a connection betweenthe two? It seemed that he had to be cautious in his arrangements, without knowing what poison he had been given, he couldn't let her seeany clues.
Joyce glanced at him, seeing his mind drifting, and the doubts in herheart surged up again.
She felt something was off about him.
She had to keep a close eye and replace the reason.
When the car reached the apartment building, Luther parked, andAnderson woke up.
Joyce touched his head, "We're home, time to go to bed."
"Hmm." Anderson rubbed his sleepy eyes.
"We're going back to Khebury, Andres. If you have any lingeringfeelings for the Capital, any wishes, you can fulfill them,” Luther asked.“I'l miss my grandparents,” Anderson thought for a moment.
"We can always come back," Joyce pouted, "Transportation isdeveloped, it doesn't take long to get there, we can come back to seegrandma and grandpa anytime. Besides, grandma just said that shewould be living between the two places.”
In the past, for Charlotte, Cecelia spent most of her time living inKhebury. It was only after the incident that she took Charlotte back tothe Capital.
"Do you have any good friends in kindergarten? We can invite them outto dinner.”
Luther asked softly, "We can help you host a farewell party.”
Recently Anderson hadn't been going to school. They were consideringswitching him to another kindergarten, but now that Joyce had decidedto return to Khebury, they didn't need to consider this issue. They couldjust send him to the best aristocratic kindergarten in Khebury.
"No need," Anderson waved his hands, “I don't have any particularconnections with them."
Speaking of this, his twinkling eyes dimmed. He inexplicably thought ofFair. The only person who left a deep impression on him inkindergarten, other than Fair, was no one else.
If he had any lingering feelings, it was the whereabouts of Fair whichremained unknown.
He had asked Uncle Gregory, but there were no traces.
Many days had passed, and he thought he would forget, but when hesuddenly thought of it, he found that his heart was still very heavy.Whether Fair was alive or dead, why were they constantly deceivinghim? At least give him an outcome.
Unfortunately, there wasn't one.
"Alright."
Joyce brought Anderson down from the car, and the three of themreturned to the Rose Court Apartment.
After Anderson took a bath, he went to bed early.
Joyce kissed Anderson's forehead, "Go to sleep early.”
Then she closed the door and left Anderson's room.
As soon as Joyce left, Anderson immediately took out his phone fromunder his pillow. He logged into his exclusive cloud disk space, wherehe stored everything he didn't want to forget, including all the littlethings that had happened between him and Fair.
He recorded today's events.
"Today, dad and mom decided to return to Khebury, and we are leavingnext week. Fair, if one day you come back to the Capital, you might notreplace me, because I'm not in the Capital anymore."
“I have no attachment to kindergarten. Except for meeting you."
"Fair, where are you? Are you alive or dead?"
"Will you come back again?"
After recording, he kept flipping through her photos, all given to him byUncle Gregory. These were all the photos related to Fair that UncleGregory could replace, for admission, for identification, and those capturedfrom kindergarten videos.
In them, she was smiling brighter than the brilliant sun.
He depended on the cloud disk to remember, because he would forgetwhen he grew up. But in many years’ time, would Fair still remember? He closed his phone, not wanting to look anymore.
In the darkness, he lay with his eyes open, unable to sleep for a longtime.
Outside the door, Luther pulled Joyce aside and held her, "Has Andresfallen asleep?”
"Hmm." Joyce nodded.
"Where do you want to live when we go back to Khebury?" Lutherplayed with her long hair, “In the city, the main house? The new house? You can choose. It's up to you."
“Let's go back to the Warner residence.” Joyce lifted her head slightly."Alright, I'll call Mr. Arnold tomorrow and have him prepare." Lutherbrushed her cheek, in fact, he also liked living in the main house."Hmm."
Joyce was about to turn around.
Luther pulled her back, "After settling down in Khebury, let's take a tripto Mufron and bring back Iris's ashes. I've arranged everything. We'll gonext weekend. When we come back, we can bury her in the Warnerfamily's private cemetery, she'll be back home with us.”
Joyce closed her eyes and let out a deep sigh, "Okay."
Luther took her into his arms, his arms slowly gathering her closer.
He didn't speak any more, feeling her slight trembling, all he could dowas silently comfort her.
