Chapter 1664 The Tanaka Family

Three days later, Luther returned to Khebury with Joyce, Anderson, andDarrin. The Mufron group was ultimately unsuccessful. Upon returningto the Warner residence, the matter was not publicized and only a fewpeople knew about it. After Mr. Arnold found out, he destroyedeverything that had been prepared to move lIris's grave, as it seemedominous to prepare such things when life and death were uncertain. The jet lag was a bit tough, and Anderson lay in Joyce's arms, rubbinghis eyes. After holding back for several days, he finally couldn't help butask, "Mommy, is it possible that my sister is still alive?"

Joyce took a deep breath. "Well, for now, no news is good news."

Her eyes dimmed. "Sleep now. You've been through enough these pastfew days. Daddy and Mommy will take care of these things, so youdon't need to worry."

"Mm, goodnight, Mommy. I hope my sister is okay." Anderson closedhis eyes and fell asleep.

Joyce walked out of the room and closed the door. She looked up andsaw Luther already dressed and ready to leave. “Are you going out? It'sso late," she said, looking at the clock. It was almost ten o'clock, andshe was puzzled.

"Yeah, Felix has been looking for me a few times, so I have to go,"Luther said, hugging Joyce and kissing her ear. "I might come backvery late. Don't wait for me, go to bed early."

Joyce reached out and held him. "Wait."

Luther turned around.

Joyce pulled him down and stroked his handsome cheek. "You seem tohave something on your mind."

Luther kissed her lips. "How could I not have something on my mind?Did you notice? Sorry, I didn't want to affect your mood."

Joyce sighed. "Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Whatever theoutcome, I won't blame you."

Luther's heart shook, and his thin lips trembled slightly. "Okay, I know.Rest well. I'm leaving now." He turned around and left, his tall figuredisappearing at the door.

Joyce's eyes dimmed again. She felt that something was wrong withhim, and it wasn't just the pressure he was under. He seemed restless. One night, she woke up in the middle of the night and found himstanding in the hotel living room, looking out the window. He didn'tsleep and just stood there, looking out the window until dawn. Shedidn't know what he was thinking.

And then there were the strange things he said.

She shook her head and told herself to trust him. She shouldn't bethinking too much.

She went to the living room and sat on the sofa, flipping through thenews aimlessly. She had seen Luther look at news about the Rohomesmonarchy dispute before, and she happened to come across it again. The dispute over the Rohomes monarchy was like an epic historicaldrama, with complex and intricate relationships between the charactersthat were bizarre and chaotic.

She noticed that there were two major families in Rohomes, the Tanakafamily, and the Yoshikawa family. One controlled the monarchy, and theother controlled the military. One was the emperor, and the other wasequivalent to the old shogunate. They balanced and restrained eachother, while also marrying each other and being enemies.

Over the centuries, the two major families had constantly split, merged, and split again, in a legendary experience.

Tanaka...

Joyce suddenly remembered the man she had met at the NationalHospital, the grandson of an old man. When he introduced himself, heseemed to have mentioned Tanaka. She thought about it carefully andremembered his name: Reuben!

That silver-haired man was named Tanaka. She hadn't paid muchattention at the time because there were also many people namedNewman in Pascaylia. She didn't think about it too much.

The names of the members of the Rohomes monarchy were not madepublic. Although there were many people named Tanaka, she had afeeling that the silver-haired man was not an ordinary person. Shedidn't know if he had any connections to the monarchy, or why hewould appear in Pascaylia.

Joyce thought for a long time but couldn't figure it out. She shook herhead. Recently, Rohomes had appeared in her line of sight frequently. The third-party force related to Otis, the man with excellent skills shehad met at the Capital Peninsula Bank, and now Reuben.

She had a feeling that something unusual was going to happen.

On the other side, Luther arrived at Felix's place.

He frowned when he pushed open the door.

The room was full of the smell of alcohol, the curtains were tightlyclosed, and there was no light in the room, making it lifeless.

He kicked the wine bottle onthe floor and walked to the window. With a"whoosh," he opened the curtains and the window, allowing fresh air tocome in.

Felix was sitting on the floor, and the cold wind of the night blew in,cutting his face like a knife, making him feel even more despondent. When he saw Luther, he said, "You finally came."

Luther frowned. "Why did you do this to yourself? Is it because ofVicki?"

Felix picked up a bottle of alcohol from the floor and was about to drinkit.

Luther took the bottle from him and said, "Don't drink anymore."

Felix held his head. "She hasn't talked to me for days. I went to look forher, but she wouldn't see me. These past few days, she even leftDeNox without saying goodbye or whether she would come back. Don'tlaugh at me, but I really can't be without her now. I can't stand even aday without her. Is her heart made of stone? We've been together forfour years. She can't have no feelings for me, can she?"

His voice grew even more mournful. "Even though I explained it somany times, Christian still won't believe me. He's still obsessed with theAthena matter. What does he want? We even ended up falling out overit."

"She didn't die,” Luther said coldly, suddenly breaking the silence.
