You Hit My Heart

Chapter 1690: Robbery

"Haha, your cousin is a prince. You must still be dreaming. What, doyou think you're a princess?" Anderson sneered disdainfully, rolling hiseyes.

“I'm not! I'm telling the truth. My cousin is not a prince from our country.I'm not exactly sure which country he's from," Kiki pouted, lookingaggrieved. "My auntie married and moved to a foreign country. I'venever met her before, but my mommy mentioned her. My cousin isback, and he's supposed to stay here for a while.”

But Anderson still didn't believe her.

Getting anxious, Kiki stood up and muttered, "My cousin has a femalecaptain with him. She usually calls him "Your Highness." She tugged onJoyce's arm. "Auntie, you've seen her, remember? Last time, at thedepartment store."

"Oh, yes," Joyce nodded, glancing at Anderson, signaling him to stop.Upon reflection, it was true that the woman beside Reuben appeared tobe quite capable, and her demeanor was extraordinary. A captain? Ifshe was by Prince Reuben's side, she could only be the captain of theroyal guard.

"Auntie, do you believe me?" Kiki became worried and asked Joyce.Joyce smiled. "I believe you. Many countries still have monarchies, andhaving princes and princesses is quite normal. Your aunt being able tomarry into the royal family must be happy.”

Kiki sat back down, and despite her young age, she sighed. "Sheprobably isn't happy. No one in the family dares to mention my aunt.”She leaned closer to Joyce's ear. "It seems like my aunt has been keptin a mental institution. I overheard it. Auntie, when they come to pickme up later, you must not mention what I said."

Joyce was taken aback. First, she comforted Kiki, "Don't worry, I won'tsay anything. Kiki, you shouldn't tell anyone outside about your familymatters. Not even the teachers at the kindergarten. Understand? If wehear something, let's pretend we didn't hear it."

Because Anderson had been kidnapped before, right from thekindergarten gate, she couldn't even trust people close to them.

"Okay, don't worry, Auntie. I won't tell anyone, except for you andAndres. It's okay for you to know," Kiki shook her hand and smiledsweetly.

Anderson rolled his eyes. "Who said we're on the same side?"

Joyce smiled and shook her head. It seemed like Kiki was clinging toAnderson all the time. Given Anderson's personality, he must be fed up.Indeed, after finishing his ice cream, Anderson slammed the box ontothe table. "Mommy, can you change my kindergarten?" He reallycouldn't take it anymore. He didn't like Kiki and was extremely annoyed.Joyce said, "..."

Kiki didn't catch on and asked curiously, "Why? Andres, why do youwant to change kindergartens? Wherever you go, I'll go too. I want togo wherever you go."

Anderson said with frustration, scratching his head, "Forget it, Mommy.Pretend I didn't say anything.” It seemed like he couldn't escape fromthis sticky situation.

At that moment, the door of the ice cream shop was pushed open, andReuben, with his dazzling silver hair, walked in. He was dressedcasually today, wearing a white baseball jersey and a baseball cap, looking youthful and radiant. Grizela, who usually accompanied him, wasn't with him this time.

Likewise, Joyce was alone today without Darrin by her side. Darrin hadgone out for some business, and Joyce was only picking up Andersonfrom school, so she didn't have any personal protection.

When Reuben saw Joyce, a warm smile appeared on his lips. "Hi, wemeet again.”

Joyce raised her head slightly and smiled.

Kiki stood up and waved her hand. "Cousin, you're here to pick me up."Reuben walked over and sat next to Anderson. "Hmm, no rush. Youcan eat a little longer. I don't have anything else to do." He carefullylooked at Anderson, confirming that he was indeed a clever and brightlittle boy, with extraordinary looks that would surely make him stand outin the future.

Anderson also took a few more glances at Reuben.

He had seen plenty of handsome guys, but Reuben had a uniquecharm. His silver hair and slender phoenix eyes were eye-catching.Anderson hummed to himself, feeling that he was slightly better thanhis father in that aspect.

Joyce looked at Reuben. "Would you like a cup of coffee?"

Reuben chuckled. "I should be the one treating. Thank you for takingKiki out for ice cream. What would you liketo drink?"

Joyce pointed to the lemonade in front of her. "I'm good. I already had adrink. I should be leaving soon.”

As she spoke, she discreetly assessed Reuben. It turned out that hereally was connected to the Rohomes royal family. Not only was heconnected, but he was a prince himself. She had heard that theRohomes royal family was quite complicated, with palace intriguescomparable to historical dramas.

Earlier, Kiki inadvertently mentioned that Reuben’s mother, Kempley, had been kept in a mental institution. No wonder there was no newsabout her. Mental institutions were delicate places, and maybe therewas a genuine illness, or perhaps it was a form of confinement.

So what exactly happened to Kempley, and why did Reuben come toPascaylia?

So many people related to Rohomes had appeared in The Capital andKhebury recently. What exactly were their goals?

She fell into deep doubt, feeling a sense of familiarity and danger, as ifall these events were revolving around her. That familiar, dangerousfeeling washed over her once again.

She had to stay vigilant.

Subconsciously standing up, she waved to Anderson. "Andres, let'sgo."

Glancing at Reuben, she said, "Since you're here, I'll be leaving. Kiki, goodbye."

Kiki felt a bit disappointed. "Can't we play a bit longer?" Going home, she had nothing to do. She was forced to practice drawing every day,and her life was boring and uninteresting.

Anderson also stood up. "I have to go. Uncle, goodbye."

He politely bowed to Reuben.

"I just arrived and you're leaving," Reuben said helplessly, deliberatelyraising his voice. He could tell that Joyce was already on guard againsthim. Why? Had his identity been exposed? Or perhaps Joyce hadstarted investigating him and found some clues?

But it didn't matter. He had no ill intentions towards her.

They were not on opposing sides.

"Hehe," Joyce smiled, nodding, and then held Anderson's hand, preparing to leave.

Unexpectedly, at that moment, there was a commotion outside thedoor. Something seemed to be happening.

The voices outside grew louder, and it seemed like a lot of people wererunning back and forth, with some people shouting.

Joyce couldn't help but become more alert. Even Reuben stood up,looking out towards the door.

Then, there was another commotion.

Suddenly, several masked individuals in black rushed into the shop. Some of them held knives, while others held guns. Their faces werecovered, making it impossible to see their appearance.

As soon as they entered, they yelled, "Don't move! Stay where you are!If anyone moves, I'll shoot them!"
