Chapter 1721: Divorce Agreement

Chapter 1721: Divorce Agreement

In the evening, Jamie was once again brought to Athena's seaside villawith a black hood over his head.

Entering Alisha's room, Jamie quickly asked, "Mr. Warner, whathappened? Alisha shouldn't be running a fever anymore."

Luther stood up and made space on the bedside. "Alisha got a whipwound on her arm, and it might be infected. I'm worried it might worsen.Take a look."

"What!" Jamie was shocked and immediately sat down next to Alisha."How can things get worse at a time like this?"

He carefully examined her, uncovered the wound, and conducted aquick blood test for Alisha. Then he murmured, "This is bad, Mr.Warner. Alisha needs to go to the hospital. We don't know whichbacteria she's infected with, and she needs to undergo bacterial culturein a large hospital to use the appropriate antibiotics. I can't justadminister medication without knowing. If we can't control the spread ofbacteria, it will be very dangerous and may lead to sepsis or otherblood diseases. Alisha's body is at its weakest right now."

Upon hearing this, Luther quickly took out a thin blanket from thecabinet. He quickly gathered a few things and toys, wrapped Alisha inthe blanket, and held her in his arms.

“Let's go, we're going to the hospital right now."

Jamie looked at the door worriedly. “But they won't let us take Alishaaway."

Frowning, Luther walked into the hallway with Alisha in his arms.

As expected, Athena and a group of people blocked the doorway."She's not allowed to go anywhere. Having the family doctor come isalready my maximum tolerance!" Athena abandoned her wheelchairand stood directly in the living room.

Jamie looked at Athena with confusion. Every time he saw this woman, she was sitting in a wheelchair. It turned out to be a pretense. Thiswoman was truly cunning, pretending to be weak to gain sympathywhile harboring a venomous heart.

Luther's anger surged. "Get out of the way. Alisha's condition isworsening, and she must go to the hospital."

He kicked one of the black-clad individuals in front of him and sawanother one approaching from behind. He held Alisha tightly and swepthis long legs backward, instantly kicking the person away.

Two more black-clad individuals surrounded him, but Luther protectedAlisha while swiftly taking them down.

The black-clad individuals didn't dare to make a move. After all, theyhad harmed Mr. Warner, and Athena would also take their lives.

The atmosphere was tense. Athena's eyes darkened. "Luther, if youforcibly take Alisha away, do you think I won't detonate the explosivedevice?"

Luther clenched his fist, knowing that if Athena had the detonator in herhand, she could end Alisha'’s life at any moment. How could he let herrestrict him? How could he swallow his pride?

Jamie spoke up at this moment. "Alisha needs to go to a large hospitalfor blood culture and tetanus shots. She needs to receive acomprehensive sterile treatment that can't be provided at home. MissBallard, I have really tried my best."

Luther didn't want to listen and walked straight ahead.

Athena furrowed her brow. What if they secretly removed the micro-explosive device from Alisha's body at the hospital? She wouldn't beable to control Luther anymore. He still refused to take the antidote shehad obtained, and this matter remained unresolved. She had no way todeal with it.

She took out the detonator she always carried with her and raised it infront of Luther. "If you dare to leave, I will press the buttonimmediately.”

Luther paused his steps because he knew this madwoman wascapable of anything.

"Press the button, and you'll lose everything," he turned around andwarned sternly. "I will make you suffer to the point where you can't bearit, where you'll die without a complete body!"

His gaze was fixated on the detonator in Athena's hand as hecalculated how much confidence he had in snatching it away.

"Heh, Luther, shall we make a bet?" Athena wasn't afraid of his threats."And don't think that trying to snatch the detonator from my hand willwork. I've told you, it can be controlled through the network, timedcontrol, all under my manipulation. I can take her life in an instant!"Luther almost crushed his teeth. He didn't dare to bet because, in hiseyes, Athena's life was worthless, but Alisha was the most precioustreasure in the world. They couldn't be compared.

"Alisha must go to the hospital tonight, her life is at stake. Athena, itwas you who injured her, not that I don't know! Are you even human?"Luther gritted his teeth, every word bursting with anger, his eyes almostbulging out, ready to devour.

If it weren't for Jamie holding him back, he might have lost his sanity.“Luther, I didn't mean to hurt Alisha. It was purely an accident. I didn'tknow she was standing by the door. How is her whip wound related tome? I don't want anything to happen to her either. After all, the three ofus are a family, and we should live happily together.” Athena playedwith her hair, admiring her newly done manicure, repeatedly touching it.She twisted her body in an affected manner, approaching Luther. Herblood-red fingernails lightly brushed across his handsome cheek, and aseductive smile appeared on her lips. "Why didn't you agree to myconditions? I have no choice.”

"What do you want?" Luther suppressed the disgust in his heart, holding his breath.

Athena snapped her fingers, instructing Jacob, "Go and fetch thedocuments from my bedside."

"Yes, Miss Athena," Jacob nodded and quickly ran upstairs to retrievethe documents Athena wanted. He handed them to her.

Luther squinted his eyes, wondering what kind of game Athena wasplaying.

In front of Luther, Athena opened the documents and slowly said, "Ifyou want to take Alisha to the hospital, it can be done. I'll sendsomeone to accompany you. And if you sign this document, I'll let youleave immediately.”

Jamie, who was close by, glanced at the documents and drew in asharp breath. It turned out to be an application for a divorce agreement.Luther saw it clearly, and his forehead tightened. Damn Athena, shewas forcing him to get a divorce.

Even when he repeatedly misunderstood Joyce in the past, he couldn'tbear to sign the divorce papers. In the end, he didn't even stamp hisseal on the divorce certificate. What about now?!

Once he signed this divorce agreement, if Joyce also signed it, it wouldtake effect immediately.

"Sign it," Athena opened the pen cap and handed it over.

"Alisha is waiting to go to the hospital. Once you sign, Jacob willaccompany you," she smirked triumphantly, lightly caressing her owncheek, as if she didn't care about the slap he gave her. In the end, shewas the winner.

As long as she held the trump card, he couldn't escape from her grasp.Luther clenched his fists, the anger causing the veins on the back of hishand to stand out. He wanted to tear the paper in front of him. Tearapart the vicious woman in front of him.

But he had to consider Alisha. She was his Achilles’ heel.

He almost crushed the pen in his hand, hesitating for a long time. In theend, he hastily signed his name.

At the moment the pen touched the paper, he felt as if his heart hadbeen ripped away, the pain making it hard to breathe.

Joyce, I'm sorry.

Now, he could only hope that Joyce wouldn't easily sign...
