You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 1786: Ignition
Chapter 1786: Ignition
He was about to open the door to the bathroom when he realized that itwas automatically locked from the inside. It turned out to be a two-waylocking mechanism! He hadn't noticed it before. In the flickering lights,he finally noticed that all the doors in Luther's house were fireproof andexplosion-proof. In other words, a normal explosion wouldn't be able tobreak open the bathroom door in front of him.
If given enough time, he could open it.
But...
At this moment, Anderson locked himself in the sealed bathroom andshouted loudly, "The fire alarm system in my house is connected to theKhebury Fire Brigade. They have already received the alarm. They willdefinitely come to put out the fire within ten minutes! If you know what'sgood for you, leave on your own!"
Cloud angrily kicked the bathroom door.
He had been outsmarted by a four-year-old child. Although he hadheard that Anderson was a genius and extraordinary, experiencing itfirsthand was truly remarkable. In fact, he had no intention of harmingthe child. Taking Anderson away was not to hand him over to Athena. He had another purpose, which was naturally related to Vicki.Although he led OGW, and OGW's reputation wasn't good, he had hisown principles.
He would not stoop to harming children.
"Come out. Otherwise, I'll use explosives! If I accidentally hurt you, don't wet your pants!" Cloud warned.
Anderson huddled in the bathtub; he wasn't that foolish. As long as hestayed here, he didn't believe that anyone outside could do anything tohim.
He continued to press the remote control in his hand, opening all thetightly closed electromagnetic doors in the house. The lights flickered, and the sharp fire alarm continued to sound.
Cloud muttered angrily. He needed to take Anderson away as soon aspossible; he couldn't afford any more delays.
He took out a handgun and aimed it at the door lock. "Bang, bang, bang," he fired several shots.
However, although the door lock was shattered by the bullets, the doorwouldn't budge. This door had hidden locks that couldn't be shaken. Hespeculated that this was the so-called earthquake-safe room designedby the Warner residence. It was meant to be used during strongearthquakes. It had a water source and was impervious to collapse. Nowonder Anderson chose to hide here. This child was exceptionallyclever.
Cloud carried a small explosive device with him, and now he could onlygive it a try.
Anderson hid inside, hearing the gunshots outside, naturally feelingscared. After all, he was too young, and he was facing the most evilorganization in the world. Based on their actions just now, he hadalready guessed that it must be the OGW that Mommy oftenmentioned.
Cloud quickly placed timed explosives at the four corners of the door. These explosives were precise in their power and wouldn't harm thesurroundings, but they had tremendous force. They were often used toblow open bank vault doors.
His original intention for carrying them wasn't to use them here. It wasintended for the Saunders family.
Now, he could only take the risk and give it a try.
“I'm going to ignite it. Step back!" Cloud didn't want to harm the childand shouted loudly.
Anderson remained huddled in the innermost part, tightly embracinghimself, waiting for the impending fate. Regardless of the outcome, hehad already put forth his greatest effort to prevent himself from beingkidnapped. He didn't want to burden his parents again.
He only hoped that Mommy could see his alarm soon, and that the firebrigade would arrive promptly and scare them away.
On the other side...
Darrin stood guard outside Alisha's hospital room, where Luther wasalready asleep.
Suddenly, a subordinate of a warlord came running to report, "General, the marshal's alarm has been ringing continuously. We don'tunderstand what it means."
After speaking, the subordinate respectfully handed over Joyce'spersonal electronic alarm. The red light kept flashing, appearing eerieand terrifying.
Darrin was shocked and broke out in a cold sweat. He muttered, "Ohmy God, something happened at the Warner residence.”
As soon as the words fell, Luther rushed out of the sickroom, havingheard the commotion outside. How could he sleep peacefully when heheard that Joyce was injured? It was just a light sleep.
"What happened?" Luther asked urgently.
Darrin's lips trembled, and he said, "It's a diversionary tactic. This is anemergency distress signal sent by Anderson. Something happened atthe Warner residence!"
"What!" Luther's vision darkened, as if struck by a thunderbolt. Healmost couldn't stand steady.
On the same night, his beloved woman Joyce and all four of hischildren were experiencing life-threatening dangers, hanging by athread. How could he bear it? It must be someone from Athena's side, taking advantage of their focuson rescuing Alisha, they found anopportunity to attack Anderson.
Oh God, if Anderson fell into Athena's hands again, he couldn't evenimagine the consequences.
In the end, he was still too soft-hearted. Considering Christian's face,he temporarily let Athena off the hook. After all, Christian provided themost crucial information for rescuing Alisha.
Unexpectedly, like a centipede that dies but won't fall, Athenaredirected her focus back to Anderson. This wicked woman deserved todie a thousand times over.
Rescuing Alisha but losing Anderson... Joyce, if she woke up, howdesperate she would be.
He didn't want to make Joyce sad again.
“Let's go, we need to hurry back to the Warner residence,” Lutherexclaimed, and started running.
Darrin followed closely behind him. "But, Mr. Warner, the hospital can'tbe left unattended. What if their target turns to the hospital? Whatshould we do?"
"We'll only take three people from the hospital staff with us. Leave therest here to guard. I'll call mercenaries now and contact Felix. Youdrive, and I'll make the arrangements. Also, give Reuben a call. I'llleave him in charge here. If Alisha wakes up and starts crying, continueadministering the sedative,” Luther forced himself to stay calm, organizing his thoughts. He took out his phone, dialing numbers tocontact the mercenaries while rushing out of the hospital at his fastestspeed.
"Yes," Darrin used the wireless communicator to instruct the warlordssubordinates to concentrate on guarding the sterile ICU where Joycewas and the room where Alisha was.
He made another call to Reuben.
After several rings, Reuben finally answered.
Upon hearing what had happened, Reuben was also shocked. Hequickly agreed to take charge and promised to bring in morereinforcements. Once everything was arranged, he would call hispeople to strengthen the security.
After making all the arrangements, Darrin drove, pressing theaccelerator to the floor, and raced towards the Warner residence withLuther.
The night was dark and windy, with no streetlights. In places wherethere were no lights, it was almost pitch-black, terrifyingly engulfingeverything in its heavy darkness.
Before they reached the Warner residence, they could see the lights ofthe entire building flashing on and off in the distance. In the dim night, itwarned anyone within a hundred miles, making their hearts tighten withfear.
