You Hit My Heart
Chapter 205

The face of Christian, the evil-looking man who always wore a blacksuit, came to Joyce's mind. Joyce couldn't react for a moment, thinkingthat Christian must have seen the news reports or other sources andknew that she had been put in a detention center.

She never thought that Christian would replace someone to protect her insuch a place.

“I'm not, I've only met him a few times." Joyce frowned gently andanswered truthfully.

"That's interesting!" Vicki's eyes were sharpened. Christian actuallyowed her a huge favor for a woman he had met a few times.

However, she did replace Joyce a few more interesting.

"Make a friend, so we can take care of each other when we go out.”Vicki extended her hand to Joyce and said in a friendly manner. Thewords sounded as if she was certain that Joyce would soon leave thedetention center.

Joyce also stretched out her hand and shook it gently with Vicki. Shehad an inexplicable good feeling about Vicki and always felt that theconnection between them in the future would not be simple.

They had just met but felt like it was just their fate to meet today.Joyce walked straight toward Lauren, and when she got close, shestopped in her tracks.

Lauren looked scared and resentful, staring at Joyce with a deadlyglare as if she wanted to eat Joyce alive.

"Joyce, don't get too happy now. You set me up, and I will get it back."“Lauren. You keep saying that I framed you and drugged you, but I amalso a victim. You think about it, I was attacked and almost insulted, and I sacrificed so much just to frame you? Was it worth it?" Joycesounded calm.

She analyzed, "I have seen you in jail for so long, always insisting thatyou were framed. I have to admit that I am beginning to think that theremust be something more serious behind this incident and that someoneelse may have manipulated the whole thing. I have been thinking aboutit. The drugging part had been so clumsy and easy to detect, and yousimply could not possibly drug me and arrange the attack later thatnight! The police have not been able to catch the true criminal. Heavoided all surveillance and is clearly a veteran."

“I didn't drug it. I did buy the medicine, but it got lost that night!" Laurensaid after a moment of silence.

“If I can get out and you really did not do it. I'll replace a way to replace out thetruth. After all, I wouldn't want the real Killer to escape.” Joyce saidsolemnly.

"Huh. Why should I believe you? You can barely protect yourself now."Lauren sneered.

"Believe it or not, you don't have a choice. Why don't you think carefullyabout what happened that night and if there was anything unusual?Who could possibly know you had bought these pills?" Joyce asked. She sure had thought about it many many times, but she could neverthink of a thing. After Joyce reminded her, she seemed to suddenlyremember something, "I showed Charlotte the pills, I wanted her to usethem on you, but Charlotte did not agree. She refused me on the spot. And then later, the drug was lost. I never wanted to give you the drugmyself."

Charlotte?

Joyce frowned as a strange feeling grew again.

On the day Stephanie died, she met Charlotte at noon. Although thetime of Charlotte's departure and the time of Stephanie's death did notmatch.

But why, why would Charlotte get involved in all these things?

What exactly could be the connection between these seeminglyunrelated things?

Joyce was in deep doubt.
