You're the ONE I need -
Chapter 25
Leandro's POV
He was staring at the woman who was sleeping peacefully in the bed inside the aircraft. They had their second stopover in Dubai. Since it's already almost two in the morning, they decided to sleep on the aircraft and not roam around Dubai anymore. They can make it when they don't have a plane to take care of.
He checked the time.
It's already seven in the morning.
They have to continue their journey.
So he wakes up his wife with a kiss on her forehead.
"Time to wake up, sweetheart. We need to go," he said.
She quickly got up that she hit his nose.
"Ouch!" he cried in pain.
"I'm sorry," she said, touching my nose.
"You need to treat this; otherwise, it will be stuck here," he said.
"I'll take some ice," she said, standing up, but he grabbed her by her waist.
"Ice will not help it heal quickly," he replied teasingly.
He misses her so much, but he is saving it for when they arrive in Florence. He will devour her there.
"You naughty man. I know what's playing in that mind of yours," she said, pushing him.
"You can't blame me, sweetheart, but I am planning to save it for later," he said, kissing her.
He let go of her after and helped her to stand.
She folded the blanket and tidied up the bed.
A touch of a woman will give a place a cozy vibe. He smiled.
After having their coffee, they left the airport for Dubai.
He is thankful for the weather; it did get along with them.
If Lorianne doesn't come, he will go straight to Italy. He can do that. He did that when he came to the Philippines. But now that she's with him, he made sure that she would enjoy their flight.
Next time he is not going to fly his private plane, he will ask Tom to do it for them. Or maybe it's better to fly the regular flight. He doesn't need to take care of any fees at every airport they land at. Well, that is going to happen after he gives this lovely woman his last name. Until they become officially husband and wife.
He is still married to another woman until it's null and void.
Jason advised him to check if there's a record in the statistics office first before he asks a lawyer for help. They spoke while they were in Dubai's airport. While Lorianne was fast asleep.
His friend called because he didn't hear anything from them after the scene on his cruise.
He told him that they were on their way to Italy already.
"Don't worry; I'll help you check it since I'm here in the Philippines," Jason told him. "Thank you!" he replied.
He is thankful to have a friend like Jason. No distance can break their friendship. Even though they seldom see each other, their friendship withstands the test of time. That's why they have a chance to see each other. They really tried their best to make it. Like when Jason came to the Philippines and, coincidentally, he was there also. Jason invited him to come, or it could be the other way around. He chose to take his wife out, so they went to Jason's instead of the other one coming to them.
"We will ask the lawyer for help depending on the status of your marriage, but until then, you will just relax and enjoy flying with your beautiful bride," Jason said, followed by
"Bye for now; I'll send you updates as soon as I gather some information."
He hung up and lay down beside his wife, who had fallen asleep a few minutes ago.
"Hey mister, are we there yet?" he was woken up from his thought by this beautiful bride of his.
"Not yet, Cara. Maybe we still have two more hours," he replied.
"By the way, I spoke to Jason last night while you were asleep. We talked about checking our marriage status in the statistics office before we ask for help from the lawyer," he started.
"We can check it online maybe; we can order it and have it delivered to the villa. Then we asked Rudy and Clara to check it for us. I ordered my birth certificate online and even my Cenomar (certificate of no marriage). We can pay online as well," she told him.
"Wow! That's a good idea. How long will it take to get a copy of it?" he asked.
He is very serious about ordering it online.
"Usually it takes seven days, but that depends on the place," she replied.
"Let's do it then, when we reach Florence. I want to know if our marriage has been registered so that we can take the next step," he said.
Hoping that the marriage is not registered so that he doesn't have to go through an annulment. The Philippines doesn't have divorces there.
"You know what, in my opinion? It's not a problem at all. Since you are married to a person that is already dead, you are considered a widower. Since you are a widow, you are entitled to marry someone you wish to marry, "she said. My wife has a point.
He is a widower, actually, since the one he was married to is already dead.
"Let's hope for a good result, sweetheart," he said.
"Yes, I pray that there will be a good result," she replied.
"Thank you, sweetheart, for your understanding. If I had only not rushed to get us married, I guess we would not be in this situation now," he said.
"We both agreed to do it. We don't need to go back there; what has been done cannot be undone. It's a lesson learned. Next time, we have to think multiple times before we take it into action," she said.
If he has his co-pilot, he wants to hug her for all the encouragement and support she has given him. She's one of a kind.
He almost lost her because of jumping to a conclusion. But fate has made its way. It delayed his abrupt disappearance from the island.
She was right; it's really a lesson learned: you must think many times before you jump to a conclusion.
