Chapter 24

Franco's POV

He was so happy that when he lifted his face, he saw the woman who was still in his heart.

So this is where she went to after coming out of the condo earlier. He thought.

She also noticed him; he stood up and went to her table.

She has changed a lot in just eight months. She's different from the woman he loved before.

In front of him right now is a woman with confidence.

And cold.

He can't blame her for the way she acted and treated him. He made the biggest contribution to it.

He knows that when she stands up abruptly, she doesn't want to have more conversation with him. He even wanted to follow her, but he remained calm. He doesn't want to get attention from others. He followed her wherever she went, without her noticing him. He knew that she was running away from him.

Thankful that his flight to Palawan is in the morning, he will still see her tomorrow. Hope that she will wake up early. How he wanted to talk to her heart-to-heart.

He would try his best to win her back.

She knew she still loved him.

She's only hurt; that's why she's treated him coldly.

After he annulled his marriage with Jean, he would pursue her.

All he has to do is to make all his mistakes right.

Firstly, getting an annulment.

While he's in the process, he will reopen the case about the tragedy that killed a few people and hurt others.

He is now convinced that there was an anomaly that happened that day.

When he was on his way to the airport today, he rethought and analyzed the scenario from the moment they found Lorraine's lifeless body in the morgue.

He recalled Jean's reaction, how she told him and convinced him that the woman in front of them was his fiancée.

How she opposed his decision to take a DNA sample from the body.

The worst thing was when she accompanied him almost every day in his condo, showing him that she sympathized with him.

He let her down because he thought she was mourning losing her best friend.

He did not see how she managed to have him wrapped around her finger.

He didn't see how he was being used in hers.

He believed all those lies for eight months.

If he found out that she had involvement in the incident. He will make sure that she will rot in jail.

He also went upstairs to sleep.

In the morning, he decided to have some coffee before boarding for his flight.

He didn't notice the time, and he almost didn't make it to the plane.

He was still lucky that, before the aircraft door finally closed, he hopped in.

The next thing he knew, the plane was finally landing.

Too many thoughts have been occupying his thoughts.

He was supposed to fly to Manila, but he decided to change his route. He decided to have an ocular visit to the land in Palawan.

A friend of his acquaintance offered land to his company. And he wants to see it first so that he will decide whether to buy it or not.

While walking outside to get a taxi, he noticed the very familiar structure. Of course, how could he forget her? It's the woman in his dreams. The woman who has been occupying his thoughts since yesterday. He quickly ran to catch her, but to no avail. She rides a taxi immediately.

He called her name, but she only turned her head and closed the door.

He hailed the next taxi and quickly asked the driver to follow the taxi in front of them.

It's out of his way, but he wanted to know where she was going.

While he is in the area, he will visit her if he knows where she is staying.

He wondered if she knew someone in this area. All he knows is she is an orphan. No family, both father's side and mother's side.

He noticed that the taxi she was in was going on a private road.

It could easily be distinguished because there are no more houses or any structures along the road, and the road they are taking is good for a single car only.

"Make it slow; I don't want to be noticed," he told the driver.

He could see the huge gate a few meters away; that meant he was right. It's private property. On the right, there's a road that is good for a single car only.

"What if they noticed that we had entered their premises? What shall we say?asked the driver.

"Don't worry; we will tell them that we are lost," he replied.

They could see that the taxi that took her in was coming out.

The driver signaled the taxi driver to let them drive forward. They could see that there was a large space in front of the gate. Maybe it is made for other cars to park outside the gate.

The taxi driver understands the signal, so instead of driving towards them, he moves to the left, which will give them a chance to drive and will not cause them to collide with each other. After the taxi left the place, he asked the driver to park a taxi a little farther away; just don't block the driveway.

When suddenly they saw a car rushing out the gate.

It drives to the other road on the right.

Where does that road lead to? Out of curiosity, he asked the driver to follow him.

"It's an airport boss; shall we leave this place already? We are already trespassing," the driver told him.

Farther away, he could see that someone was coming out of the car.

It's Lorianne.

She was running in the middle of a runway waving her hands. She did it for quite some time.

And finally, the stairs came down, and a moment later, a man ran towards Lorianne.

They hugged, and he witnessed how he kissed her on her lips.

It feels like he was killed multiple times watching how he carried her onto the plane.

So, this is the man who found her, Lorianne.

How can he compete with him?

How is he going to win her back?

Though he knows that the woman is not materialistic, what he saw right now is proof that Lorianne is happy and contented with her new life.

There's no one to blame but him himself.

"Are we ready to go now, boss?' asked the taxi driver.

'Yes, we can go back now and take me to this area," he replied, showing him the address on his phone.
