After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander) -
Unveiled 49
Chapter 49
Elara said to Lysander, "I haven't seen Uncle Harold in a long time. He doesn't know anything about my situation. Don't take it in your heart."
"Okay," Lysander replied as his phone rang. He glanced at the screen but didn't pick up, instead declining the call immediately.
"Is something going on?" Elara asked, remembering that he must have had a reason for coming here.
"It's nothing important," Lysander said.
Elara looked a little worried. "Are you sure it's not serious?"
Lysander looked at her and said, "I just arrived in Starfield City, what could be important? It's just the usual eating and drinking with the elders, so boring. It's much more peaceful here,"
He was always someone who enjoyed quiet. Whenever he went out with Elara, he'd often have places cleared out, just so they could enjoy some peace and quiet.
Not long after, a waiter approached and said to Lysander, "Mr. Hawthorne, our boss is asking for you."
"Your boss?" Lysander was puzzled.
"Yes, Mr. Jarvis, the one who just stepped out," he explained.
If it had been anyone else, Lysander wouldn't have cared. But Harold was Elara's uncle.
In the banquet hall in the next room, the waitstaff were trembling.
Aubrey Hawthorne stood in front of an expensive vase. "This one looks pricey, doesn't it?"
"Don't," Harold tried to stop him. With a loud crash, the vase shattered on the ground.
"This brat! I went through so much trouble to collect these antiques, and he's just smashing them to pieces. And he always breaks several! Such a naughty boy!' Harold thought bitterly, feeling his heart bleed. But since Aubrey was someone from the Hawthorne family, Harold had no choice but to tolerate it.
Aubrey stood nearby, snorting coldly at Harold. "You'd better really know where Lysander is. If he goes missing, you'll regret it."
"How could he possibly be missing? He's at our estate, perfectly safe," Harold replied.
'Lysander doesn't show up! It's not my fault. Just because he isn't coming, Aubrey's smashing up all my antiques! He's being so unreasonable!' Harold thought to himself.
"But Lysander did disappear from your estate," Aubrey continued, picking up another ornament.
"Please, no! Please." Harold was on the verge of tears. "Don't break this."
"Uncle Harold." At that moment, Elara's voice suddenly rang out
Harold looked up to see Elara and Lysander standing at the doorway. 18:27 Wed, Nov 6

Lysander frowned as his eyes scanned the room, taking in the shattered remains of the antiques. Together, they walked over, and Lysander's gaze landed on Aubrey. "Put it down." Aubrey, though only fourteen, already had a reputation as a little terror
He was different from Lysander. While Lysander had grown up in Brookfield and didn't often return, Aubrey had been raised in the Hawthorne family from birth, earning himself the nickname of the family's little terror. Whenever Aubrey went out, chaos was sure to follow. But his mother always cleaned up after him, so no one dared say anything.
The moment Lysander appeared and spoke, the infamous little terror was so frightened that he quickly set the ornament down. Seeing this, Harold finally breathed a sigh of relief. As expected, only Lysander can control Aubrey, he thought.
Aubrey walked up to Lysander. "Lysander, where did you go? I thought someone had kidnapped you!"
"You're worried about me now?" Lysander's expression darkened, clearly displeased.
Aubrey immediately adopted an apologetic tone, looking like he had made a mistake. "No, I was just concerned about you. Mom and Dad will be here any minute. If they don't see you, they'll blame me for not taking care of you properly." "Apologize," Lysander said coldly.
Aubrey turned to Harold. "I'm sorry."
Harold was momentarily at a loss for words. He had never seen Aubrey be this obedient before. In front of Lysander, Aubrey was shockingly well-behaved.
"It's fine," Harold finally said.
After apologizing, Aubrey walked over to Lysander. "Lysander, where did you go just now? I was so worried."
"Having a meal," Lysander said, glancing at Aubrey with annoyance, thinking to himself, 'If it weren't for him, Elara and I would still be enjoying our meal next door. He really messed up a good moment.'
At that moment, a woman's voice called from the doorway. "Hey, Aubrey."
Aubrey instantly ran over. "Mommy!"
The woman who had just arrived was dressed in a slim-fit long dress, wrapped in fur, with high heels on her feet and a pearl necklace around her neck. She exuded wealth and elegance. Harold quickly stepped forward to greet her. "Hello, Mrs. Hawthorne."
Felicity smiled warmly. "As soon as I got out of the car, I heard Aubrey was causing trouble again. I'm sorry, Mr. Jarvis.
"We'll fully compensate for everything he damaged. It's my fault for not teaching my son better. He'll definitely be punished when we get home."
"It's fine." Harold waved it off.
Elara, standing beside Lysander, gazed at Aubrey's mother and thought, 'So this is Lysander's stepmother? She's stunning. Looks really young, like she's in her twenties.'
She glanced at Lysander. "That's your stepmom?"
Lysander nodded. "Let's go inside."

Chapter 49
Since they were already here, Lysander didn't intend to leave, so he walked straight into the room.

It was quite busy inside, with many people hoping to catch a glimpse of Lysander, who had just returned from Brookfield. Everyone was curious about what he looked like now.
"Hi, Lysander." But before they could get far, Felicity came over
Lysander stopped in his tracks.
Felicity walked up to him and said, "I heard you went missing carlier. I was so worried. Now that you're back in Starfield City. you're not familiar with the area. Don't wander off alone. Make sure you have someone with you." "I'm not an idiot," Lysander replied coldly.
Seeing his icy demeanor and complete disregard for her concern, Felicity didn't push further. She turned to Aubrey. "Aubrey, make sure to keep Lysander company."
Aubrey walked over. "Okay." But Aubrey could tell that Lysander didn't like him. Lysander was always so stern, never showing any affection.
Lysander led Elara further inside. The room was quite lively, but after entering, they didn't wander around. Instead, they went upstairs to replace a quieter place to sit.
Elara looked down at the crowd below. Having lived in Brookfield most of her life, she found this kind of scene particularly bustling.
As she scanned the room, she spotted quite a few familiar faces, many of them celebrities.
Lysander sat quietly next to her, peeling fruit, completely uninterested in the excitement below. Aubrey had originally come upstairs with them, but Lysander found him too noisy and quickly sent him back down.
Elara had originally come to meet Harold, but Harold was busy sticking close to Felicity, leaving him with no time for her. There was a woman in a gown holding a little girl, chatting with Felicity.
Looking at the woman, Elara couldn't help but think of Asher. There was quite a resemblance in their features. She returned
sit by Lysander's side.
Lysander looked at her. "Seen enough?"
"It's so lively," Elara said. "Are all these people here for you?"
"They're not here for me," Lysander replied calmly. "They just came to watch the commotion. I 'am' the commotion."
Elara looked at Lysander. "What does your dad do that's so
impressive?"
Aside from celebrities, there were also billionaires and several high-ranking officials here.
Lysander didn't seem too interested in answering and simply said, "I don't really know."
