Alpha Queen -
Chapter 106
Liviana’s POV
“It’s beautiful” I muttered as we watched the sun set.
“It is” he said as he kissed the top of my head.
I turned to look at him.
At Luan.
A tear fell from my eye and I saw the sadness in his eyes as he wiped my tear on my face.
“I miss you” he said as his voice broke.
“I do too” I said.
Then, I woke up.
I felt something wet on my face and I touched it.
I actually cried.
I sighed.
I carefully got up and turned to look at my side.
There, I saw Luke still sleeping.
I gave him a k**s before getting off the bed.
I immediately saw Rainer by the couch sleeping.
He said he’d leave after we fell asleep but I guess he didn’t.
I do remember King Callisto mentioning that he was my bodyguard.
I got a blanket and carefully put it on him.
After that, I made my way to the bathroom to freshen up.
As soon as I faced myself in the mirror, my mouth gaped open.
My black hair has grown even longer to the point that it was almost at my butt.
My complexion was as pala as a ghost’s.
It was also evident that I lose a lot of weight.
I’m alive but I look dead.
Great.
I sighed as I stripped off my clothes.
My brows furrowed when I caught a glimpse of my back.
I turned my back to look at it in the mirror.
My eyes slightly widened when I saw the fulk view of my back.
Instead of just the moon mark by my shoulder, my whole back was covered by not only a symbol of the moon but also the symbols of the 4 elements.
Fire.
Water.
Land.
Air.
And in the middle is the moon.
The moon mark that was once by my shoulder was replaced with a crown.
I tried to take it all in.
I admired it for a moment.
Every detail of it.
It was beautiful.
But then….
Mt eyes landed on my neck.
Luan’s mark had already disappeared.
It’s like it was never even there.
Another tear escaped my eye.
Then, there was a knock on the door.
“Your majesty? Are you there?”
It was Rainer.
“Yes, I am. I’m going to wash up. Is Luke already awake by any chance?” I asked.
“No, your majesty” he answered.
“Okay. I’ll just wash up and I’ll be right out” I said.
“Okay, your majesty” he said and I heard his footsteps as he walked away from the bathroom door.
I got into the shower immediately and washed up.
Despite being in a coma for more than a year, my body was kept clean.
I can only assume that the helpers would wipe and dress me while I was in a coma.
After my shower, I got out in a robe because I couldn’t get any clothes earlier.
Once I got out, I saw Rainer holding Luke in his arms.
Rainer turned to look at me.
“The helpers brought you a fresh set of clothes, your majesty” Rainer said and pointed to the table.
I nodded as I rushed to get my clothes and went back to the bathroom.
I got dressed quickly and went out to attend to my son’s needs.
“Mama” Luke said as he saw me.
Then, he extended his little arms towards my direction.
I smiled.
Rainer gave Luke to me.
“Good morning, little one” I said as I brushed my noses on his.
Luke giggled.
“Mama” he said again making me smile even wider.
His cute little voice was music to my ears.
“Breakfast will be prepared soon. Do you wish to have your breakfast here, your majesty?” Rainer said as he held me on my elbow and guided me back to my bed to sit down.
“I’d like to have it outside please” I said.
Rainer nodded.
“And Rainer?” I said.
“Yes your majesty?” he said.
“Can you not call me your majesty? Drop the formalities. Please” I said.
Rainer chuckled.
“Okay…Liviana” he said with a small smile.
I gave him a small smile back.
“The King and Queen have already asked the helpers to prepare a new room for you” Rainer said and then he looked around the room.
“One that’s cozier and closer to Luke’s room” he told me with a chuckle.
I chuckled and nodded.
There was a moment of silence.
“Rainer” I said.
“Yes?” he replied.
“You were the one who found me that time, right?” I asked.
Rainer nodded.
“Yes” he said.
I smiled a little.
“Thank you” I told him.
Rainer smiled.
“You’re welcome, Liviana” he said.
I smiled.
I could never imagine what would’ve happened to me if I wasn’t found.
Maybe both Luke and I wouldn’t be here in that case.
“King Callisto also mentioned that you were ‘my bodyguard’? I thought you were the head warrior?” I asked curiously.
I was extra talkative today.
Maybe it was because of the fact that I couldn’t talk for more than a year.
“Yes. I’m actually both” he said with a chuckle.
“So you’re my bodyguard when you’re not acting as the head warrior?” I said.
Rainer shook his head.
I looked at him curiously.
“I’d say that it was the other way around. I’m the head warrior when I’m not acting as your bodyguard” he told me.
I looked at him confused.
“It’s because I spent most of my time by your side since you came here. I only ever leave your side if something really really important comes up that I need to deal with. It happens rarely so I also rarely leave your side” he explained.
I looked at him baffled.
“Don’t you even rest?” I asked stunned.
“I do. But I normally rest where I can look after you” he said with a shrug.
I looked at him feeling a little guilty.
Not only did I keep this man from doing his responsibilities, I also deprived him of his personal time.
“I—I’m sorry” I apologized in embarrassment.
I felt really bad.
Never in my entire life did I think I’d cause this much trouble to someone at such a long period of time too.
Rainer chuckled.
“If it makes you feel any better, I volunteered to do it” he said.
I looked at him for a moment.
“You reminded me of Princess Diana” he said.
“You’ve met my mother?” I asked.
Rainer nodded.
“She used to look after me when I was a child. Atleast before she left” he told me.
I saw a glint of sadness flash in his eyes but it was gone as quickly as it came.
Rainer did look older than I was.
I’m guessing about a few years.
“When we confirmed that you weren’t Princess Diana, everyone still agreed to keep you here and nurture you back to health. We…we all had that feeling about you” he said as he looked at me.
“A certain connection” he continued.
He was talking about my connection with Princess Diana.
“We were right” he said with a smile.
I smiled.
Then, there was a knock on the door.
“Your majesty, Captain, breakfast is ready by the garden” a guard said.
Rainer and I both nodded.
As usual, Rainer scooped me up from the bed and lifted me up in his arms while I still held Luke in my arms.
Luke giggled as I squeaked in surprise.
“Stop doing that! I can literally walk” I scolded.
Rainer chuckled.
“I know but King’s orders” he said with a shrug as he gently put us down on the wheelchair.
Rainer pushed the wheelchair out of the room as we made our way out.
Luke was sitting down on my lap with a tiger stuffed toy in his hands.
“Will the King and Queen have breakfast with us?” I asked.
“Of course. They already canceled everything for the week to spend time with you” Rainer said.
My eyes widened a bit.
“They did?” I asked already feeling guilty.
“Well, yes. They found out after all these years, they actually have a granddaughter. And in the worst possible way at that. So I think a week of delayed responsibilities isn’t all that bad” he said with a chuckle.
I bit my lower l*p in guilt.
“I don’t think that made me feel better” I sulked.
Rainer laughed.
“Sorry” he said with a chuckle.
I sighed.
Way to go, Liviana.
After some time, we arrived at the garden and I saw the King and the Queen waiting for us.
“My precious gems!” the Queen squealed excitedly as she made her way to us.
The Queen gave both Luke and I a k**s.
“How was your sleep, dear?” the Queen asked me.
“It was fine, your highness” I said politely.
The Queen pouted.
“Liviana, don’t call me ‘your highness’. I’m your grandmother, aren’t I? Call me grandma instead” she told me.
I blushed shyly.
“O-okay…g-grandma” I said as I blushed.
Queen Selene smiled as she hugged me.
“Much better” she said with a proud smile.
“Now, come on. Let’s have breakfast” she said and motioned us to the table where the King was.
“Good morning, your—” I was about to say.
“Grandpa. Call me grandpa, Liviana” King Callisto cut me off.
I gulped as I smiled awkwardly.
“Good morning, g-grandpa” I greeted.
King Callisto smiled.
Rainer carried me to my seat and sat down beside me.
We ate breakfast peacefully as I also enjoyed the scenery in the garden.
It was filled with different kinds of flowers and there was a fountain in the middle.
After breakfast, I excused myself because I wanted to roam around the garden with Luke.
Rainer came with us, of course.
He wouldn’t leave our side no matter what.
Rainer pushed the wheelchair as me made our way through the garden.
I would touch and smell the flowers as I passed by.
Then, I extended my hand to the flower bushes to touch them as we made our way through.
More flowers bloomed in the bushes.
More vibrant and more beautiful.
I smiled at my creation.
“It’s beautiful” Rainer suddenly said.
I had almost forgotten he was with us even when he was the one pushing the wheelchair.
“Thanks” I said awkwardly.
There was a moment of silence.
“Are powers common here in Halo?” I asked curiously.
“Not in Halo but your mother did have it. Although it wasn’t a power like yours” Rainer told me.
“Mom had healing powers” I said.
Rainer nodded.
“She also passed it on to me” I told him.
Rainer stopped and he looked at me.
“She did?” he asked.
I nodded.
“Aren’t you a powerful one” he said with a chuckle as he continued to push the wheelchair.
“Doesn’t it take a lot of e energy from you?” he asked curiously.
“It does” I answered truthfully.
My human body doesn’t function like it does in the spirit realm.
When I used my powers yesterday, I did feel somewhat tired because of it.
That only means I’ll need to practice it here more in the real world.
“Then you better be careful. Don’t strain yourself” he reminded.
I nodded.
I know very well that it will take time for me to recover.
