Chapter 73

Reins

Hearing her call for me when to her as fast as I could. She was slumped over holding her head in her hand. "Autumn!" I was by her side pushing the hair away from her face and hands to see what was wrong.

"It hurts!" she cried out pulling at her hair.

Just as she screamed again the doctor was in the room standing on the other side of the bed. "Alpha what happen?"

"I'm not sure she called for me when I turned around she was holding her head."

"Autumn I need you to tell me what's wrong," He was having to take louder cause she was crying.

"My head, it hurts! it hurt so bad,"

"Lean back Autumn I need to check you over,"

"I can't it hurts!"

"Love please lay back," Leaning closer to her.

Slowly she laid back keeping her hands to her head her crying quieted down to just small sobs and sniffles

"Autumn can you move your hands please,"

She had her eyes squeezed shut and her forehead scrunched up moving her hands away from her head I began to brush the hair out of her face. Looking at her better I noticed a small amount of blood running out her nose.

"Her nose is bleeding," I looked up at the doctor.

His head nodded at my words as he looked over her face he peeled one of her eyes open shining a light on it.

"Um Alpha," He said as stood up away from her.

Looking at him his face was a little pale he swallowed hard.

Giving him a confused look.

"What, Something wrong?"

"Look," He reached over again lifting her eyelid.

Leaning over her so I could see better I stopped when I saw her eye was two different colors.

The crystal clear look over her wolf's eye mixed with red it looked almost like blood had been dropped in her eye.

He let her eyes shut as he looked at me.

"What's wrong with her, why is her eye like that?"

"I do not know Alpha I have never seen that before,"

Looking from him back to her I noticed she had drifted asleep.

"Autumn," I touched her face but she didn't respond.

"Autumn, can you hear me?"

The doctor quickly listen to her heart his body relaxing a bit.

"She just asleep,"

"She's unlocking another power,"

Wait was that Gem,

"Gem?"

"Yes it's me Autumn is kinda out of it right now but I can still link with you?"

"How doesn't she have to be talking to you for me to hear you two? And what power?"

"No silly your my mate I'm linked to you just as much as she is to you, we will know her power when she wakes," "Why is her eye like that?"

"It's just a transition period once the power is unlocked her eye will go back to normal,"

Letting out a sigh of relief at those words I still wasn't fully understanding what was happening.

"Alpha maybe we should try and replace someone who would have information on her condition,"

The doctor says as he steps away from the bed.

"No! No one can know about her, "

"Alpha I don't know what's wrong or how to treat her! "

"She doesn't need treatment,"

I closed my eyes not wanting to share what she was with anyone until we knew everything,

"It's her powers, She is a silver wolf,"

He stood still with a shocked look on his face.

"I don't want to let anyone know yet not until I have figured this out as well,"

"I understand, Alpha, but how am I to help her?"

"Gem, how long till she wakes?"

"Not long, I can feel her starting to wake,"

"Her wolf said she wake soon so let's just wait,"

"Um Alpha, you said her wolf told you?"

Letting out a sigh I hung my head kicking myself again.

"Yes, her wolf Autumn can communicate with her wolf, and seeing as she is my mate she can link me as well,"

He didn't say anything but just looked at me,

Looking at her face I ran my hand over her cheek.

Scrunching her forehead a bit she let out a small moan.

"Autumn, can you hear me?"

I kept my voice low as I wasn't sure how much pain she was in.

"Mmm," she slowly opened her eyes she stared straight at me.

"Reins," Saying my name lowly.

She goes to sit up I placed my arm behind her helping her. She looked at me then at the doctor.

"What happened?"

"Your head was hurting you, then you started to scream we got you to lay back so the doctor could check you but you fell asleep,"

"I remember my head hurting right as everyone walked out,"

She rubbed her head and her scalp which I'm sure is sore from how hard she pulled her hair.

"How do you feel now?" The doctor asked as he stepped closer to her looking over her.

I sat there running my fingers over her forehead pushing her hair behind her ear.

"Ok I guess the headache is gone, but my scalp hurts like heck,"

She placed at him as she reached up again running her finger through her hair once more,

"You were pulling hard on your hair,"

I told her as I kept one of her hands in mine.

"Autumn, Gem said you were unlocking another power?"

She looked at me then at the doctor.

He held his hands up.

"Don't worry the doctor-patient confidentiality, can't and won't speak about anything that is said in here,"

"Okay, I remember saying something about it maybe another unlocking,"

"Did she say how to tell what it would be?" The doctor asked.

She shook her head.

"No, I don't think so if she did I wouldn't have heard it with how much pain I felt,"

I grabbed a tissue from the stand as I reached forward wiping her nose as there was some blood still there.

"Why do we ask her now?" I said as I tossed the tissue into the can that sat next to the little stand.

I watched as her eyes changed to that beautiful crystal color but this time I couldn't hear Gem's thoughts.

The doctor stood there looking absolutely in awe that she could speak with her wolf.

Suddenly her eyes changed back.

"Gem said it the power of deceit, I'm to be able to tell if someone is lying,"

"Well, why don't we try?" I said as I stood up from the bed.

"How?" She asked looking at me.

"Simple ask me a question you know the answer to,"

"Oh okay, Um let's see,"

She acts like she is thinking hard looking out over the foot of the bed then she looks at me out the side of her eyes as she gets this smile on her face. "Reins," She drags my name out letting her hand lay on her lap.

"Am I the only women you've been with?"

Oh, she was diving right in there, wasn't she?

Hearing little coughs coming from the doctor I looked at him glaring at him he placed his hand over his mouth to stop the laugh that was about to spill out of him.

Looking back my little mate had a smirk on her face.

Yes, I have been with others but not from my pack I had given up on the idea of replaceing my mate but I did have needs as well.

Standing straight squaring my shoulders I looked straight at her.

"Yes, you are,"

Watching her she never moved or blinked. I could feel my nerves build when she didn't say anything.

I heard Gem's voice.

"Oh someone in trouble,"

I was back sitting next to her holding her hand and kissing them.

"I'm sorry love,"

"I think I'll step out and give you two a moment, " The doctor walked around the bed and out the door.

I didn't even look his way or said anything to him. My focus was on my mate who looked completely crushed by my answer.

"Autumn please I'm sorry," looking down at our hands I felt like such an a*s.

She placed a hand on my cheek causing me to look up at her. She smiled leaning forward and placing a feather-light kiss on my lips.

"It's okay Reins, You are a few years older I kinda figured you weren't inexperienced like me, and when we shared that experience the first time I knew then, It doesn't change how I feel about you, I'm completely and fully in love with you,"
