Amnesia Love: The Five Boyfriends Challenge
Chapter 19-The lovely Karswell.

The distance between the freckled boy and me is so close that I can almost count each other's eyelashes.

He stared at me for a while, and I sensed his panic fading away.

The freckled boy swallowed nervously and asked, "Can you really help me?"

"Of course," I replied.

I retrieved the credit card Monford had given me from my bag and gently lifted his chin with it.

"But tell me, if I assist you out of this predicament, what will you offer me in return?"

"I... I'm not sure what I can give you. I'm just a student. I study math and computers."

"Where do you go to school?"

"Harvard University."

My eyes lit up. According to what my grandmother once told me, if I had followed my family's plan to pursue higher education, I would still be at the same school as this boy.

Except, I gained admission to Harvard through family connections, while the freckled boy is a genuine genius.

"Remember what you promised."

I straightened up and motioned for the bartender.

"What can I do for you, Miss?"

"I'll cover the bill for this booth, and-"

I paused and turned to the troublemaker who had bullied the freckled boy. "Escort this man out."

The bartender seemed puzzled, but upon seeing the black credit card in my hand, he treated me with great respect.

"Okay, I'll handle it!"

The bartender accepted the card with both hands and called two burly men to escort the troublemaker out.

The other patrons at the booth also recognized my authority and slipped away before I noticed them.

Now, only the three of us remained.

I grabbed an unopened bottle of beer from the table, and Docker came over to help me open it.

After taking a sip, I handed the beer to the freckled boy.

"You seem nervous. Have a drink to calm down."

The freckled boy took the bottle and timidly sipped from it. He seemed unfamiliar with drinking and appeared distressed.

Amused, I handed him a tissue.

"If you can't handle drinking, you shouldn't be in a place like this. You were fortunate to encounter me this time, but you might not be so lucky next time." "I didn't want to..."

The freckled boy looked down despondently.

Recalling his conversation with the troublemaker, I realized he had been coerced into coming here.

"Were you bullied at school?"

The freckled boy initially shook his head, then nodded.

"It's not exactly bullying, they just rarely interact with me. I've been at the school for two years, and Harry was the first person to talk to me."

His voice was filled with sorrow, evoking sympathy.

I reached out and ruffled his curly hair. "It's okay to make friends, but not everyone will be your friend."

I handed him my phone and asked him to enter his contact information and name.

The freckled boy complied, and when he returned the phone to me, I finally learned his name.

"Karswell? That's a great name."

I pocketed the phone, stood up, and bid him farewell. "I have pressing matters to attend to, I won't linger."

As I turned to leave, he grabbed my wrist.

I glanced back at his beautiful, envious eyes.

"I don't know your name, or how to contact you."

Karswell's palms were sweaty, indicating he need courage in holding my hand and asking for my name.

His action confirmed that this charming boy must have fallen for me at first sight.

I smirked satisfactorily and leaned in, whispering in his ear, "I'll reveal my name when we meet again."

With that, I planted a swift kiss on his cheek and departed.

I refrained from looking back, knowing that this innocent boy must be utterly bewildered right now.

I detested toying with a pure heart, but Karswell was too endearing. Whenever he glanced at me, I felt the urge to make him weep.

Surely, such a delightful boy would look even more adorable when shedding tears!

For the remainder of the day, Docker and I combed through the bar multiple times, yet we found no suspicious individuals.

Disheartened, we returned to the room to replace Aiden and Raimundo had also come back, but with no valuable information.

"This individual has had his way for the time being, and won't return anytime soon. I believe we can abandon the search for him in the bar."

Aiden nodded in agreement with me.

"That's unfortunate for Mike, though."

"Not necessarily."

I rose and approached the room's door, pushing it open and pointing to the surveillance camera above.

"Once we retrieve the footage from that day and confirm no one tampered with the flash drive, we can bail Mike out."

"I've considered that, but the bar staff refused to provide the surveillance. They insist the police collect it themselves."

Docker inquired, "Why didn't you go to the police for the footage?"

"I did, but they claim there's a missing segment in the surveillance. Due to this gap, they suspect Mike may have struck an illicit deal with someone from a rival company to deliberately leak our internal information," Aiden explained. I pondered, "Under normal circumstances, how could surveillance footage suddenly go missing? Especially the part where Mike lost the flash drive?"

Aiden remained silent. Docker didn't offer any input either.

The room fell into a somber silence.

"If it's human error, the lost surveillance footage can be recovered through technical means," Raimundo, who had been silent, suddenly interjected. His words sparked inspiration within me.

"Are you certain?"

"Only two things need verification: first, the missing security footage was indeed deleted, and second, we can locate someone proficient in computers!"

I relaxed. "That's simple. I'll retrieve the surveillance footage and ask Monford for assistance. Surely, there's a skilled computer whiz at M Company."

"But how will you obtain the surveillance footage? The bar staff won't relinquish it willingly," Aiden expressed concern.

"Fear not! Mr. Raimundo, the vice president of our M Company, will handle this matter," I assured.
