Billionaire's Reborn Baby -
Chapter 963 You Can Try (2)
Emily was still frowning when she got into the car. Vincent wiped the dust off her fingers and asked in a low voice, "I thought you were going to beat them harder. Why did you show mercy?" Emily held Vincent's arm and sighed softly, "They are evil in my eyes, but they are fathers and husbands for their families."
"I don't hope to see him not able to afford milk powder for his daughter," Emily looked out the window and said.
There were always so many harmonious and happy families that Emily had met in her life. Emily was undoubtedly envious of them. Meanwhile, she also hated herself for being so useless back then. But she had constantly thought many times if Maury were not dead at that time, he could have died of excitement next time, which was his destiny in the end.
"You've grown up." Vincent touched the top of her head.
Emil stuck out her tongue at him. "I've grown up for a long time. Agreed?"
"Yes, sure. You grow up," Vincent said, curling his lips.
Hearing the ridicule in his tone, Emily couldn't help nibbling Vincent's chin.
They were joking and chatting in the carriage.
Harold came back at night. From a distance, he saw the car parked on the road. So he trotted into the courtyard.
In the yard, Emily and Vincent were serving food and setting cutleries. Rex was roasting fish. The guards washed fruits, served the fruit plater to the table, and set the chairs. Dinner was ready. Emily looked up and saw Harold standing at the door. Emily smiled at him and said, "What are you doing there? Come on in."
Harold nodded and went into the bathroom to take a shower.
Emily went back to her room, took out the new clothes that she had bought for Harold, and placed them outside of the bathroom door. "Put on the new clothes when you're done. I'd like to have a look first." "Alright," Harold answered in the bathroom.
Spencer smiled. "He is very happy now. In the past, he always wore a long face and was not in a good mood. But he looks much happier than before these days."
Hearing this, Emily felt a little sorry for Harold.
After all, it was all about the injuries on Harold's face.
Harold had to have another minor operation, followed by months of rehabilitation during which he was confined to his room all day. No sunshine, no wind.
Emily had already had plans. If she didn't have time by then, she would ask the guards to come to take care of Harold. If it didn't work, she would hire a housekeeper, but the only concern was to expose Stephanie's location.
However, there was still time. They could discuss it later.
Vincent brought Spencer a bottle of liquor. Spencer usually did not drink much. Tasting a mouthful of liquor, Spencer felt it was good and took another shallow sip.
"Stephanie was busy recently and doesn't have time to come here. Emily, please help me take care of her over there. Don't allow anyone to bully her," Spencer looked at Emily and said. "Rest assured. She's fine," Emily nodded.
"That's great!" Spencer smiled. Then, he thought of something and frowned. "I wonder when I can wait until she gets married."
Emily thought, 'It should be soon.'
However, Spencer seemed to be unaware of this, so she did not say anything.
After taking a shower, Harold put on the new clothes and walked out. His face was still wrapped in gauze, which was a little thinner than that before, and only his eyes were exposed. Emily stepped forward and looked at him carefully. "You've lost weight."
"You, too. And you've become taller," Harold said, reaching out to Emily's head top to measure.
Emily laughed and pushed him.
Harold also smiled, silly.
Vincent sat at the table and watched them, with a straight face. Rex even reached out to block Vincent's eyes, trying to prevent Vincent from seeing this scene.
The guards were chatting through their eyes.
"Guard A: I feel sorry for Mr. Vincent for a second."
"Guard B: I feel sorry for Mr. Vincent for two seconds."
"Guard C: Why isn't Guard D here? I miss him."
"Guard A: What?"
"Guard B: Speaking of him, I miss him a little, too."
Rex had no idea what the guards were talking about.
That night, Emily stayed in Hump Village. Vincent naturally accompanied her there. They did not sleep in Stephanie's room but set the tent in the courtyard.
There was a gap in the middle of the tent, through which the vast starry sky above could be seen.
In the silent deep night, they lay in the tent and looked up at the sky above.
"We should have invited Harold to come over and lie with us," Emily said after lying down for a while.
"Invite him," Vincent said lightly.
Emily got up happily, "Really?"
Vincent finished the second half of the sentence with a cold face, "You can try."
Emily felt wordless.
Emily covered herself with the blanket and texted Stephanie, "Vincent is crazy. He is jealous of Harold, seriously!"
Stephanie instantly replied, "He is jealous of any man for you, okay?"
Emily retorted, "No, why isn't he jealous of Rex and the guards?"
Stephanie posted a pensive look and replied, "That sounds reasonable."
"Mrs. Sare: What are you doing now? Aren't you on a date?"
"Charming Steph: Your guess? An obscene emoji."
"Mrs. Sare: ..."
"Charming Steph: Where's Vincent?"
"Mrs. Sare: Beside me."
After chatting with Stephanie, Emily turned her head and took a glance.
There was a small lamp in the tent. Vincent, who had just taken a shower, was lying beside her. When she turned her head, she could see that his hair was half dry, his eyes were very bright, his thin lips were slightly pursed, his lips shape looked perfect, his jaw was slightly raised, revealing his protruding Adam's apple, on which there was a new tooth mark.
Emily stared at the tooth mark, smiling happily.
Vincent was looking at the tablet when he was suddenly pounced by Emily. Then, he felt a pain in his throat because Emily nibbled him again.
Spencer did not sleep much at night. When he opened the door to walk out, he saw the tent in the courtyard was shaking. Spencer coughed lightly and quickly closed the door.
Emily heard the voice in a daze and said, "It sounds like someone is opening the door. Does Harold come out?" As she spoke, she was about to stick her head out to take a look.
Vincent pointed at the shadows on the tent and said, "Don't move around, or they will think we are doing something indescribable."
The shadow looked like two people were entangled.
And, it was like an indescribable scene between a man and a woman.
Emily changed her mind in a second.
"Let's look at the moon." She lay on top of Vincent and locked her fingers with his.
Vincent looked at her and asked, "In this way?"
"Yes, I look at you, and you look at me." Emily smiled slyly.
Vincent couldn't say anything but dote on Emily.
Emily spent all her holidays at Spencer's house. Harold didn't go to work again. One point to mention, when Harold asked for leave, his boss mentioned that some other staff also did so. His boss told him to assume work as sooner as possible, claiming that he would give Harold a raise.
It seemed that the boss thought that Harold and some other staff were not happy with their salary, so they collectively asked for leave to protest. Harold did not explain.
Stephanie was living a carefree life these days. She was immersed in the sweetness of love. She was very happy when she called back once in a while. She would occasionally share with Emily the small details of her relationship. Sometimes, she would complain to Harold about the hard work of the studio and all kinds of unsatisfactory things.
Harold was a very good listener. Ever since Stephanie had talked to him last time, she would talk to Harold whenever the studio encountered a problem. No matter how late it was, Harold would always pick up her call immediately and his voice was always clear, even if Stephanie was on a whim to call him at two or three o'clock in the early morning.
Stephanie did not expect that the first call she made after she broke up was also to Harold, but that would be a few months later.
