Nash agreed to everything calmly. Back at the hotel, he called Orion on a video chat.

Unlike his usual cheerful self, Orion stared intently at the woman on the screen, a confused frown crossing his face. Something about his "mom" felt off, although he couldn't quite put his finger on it. The woman, however, kept showering him with concern, trying her best to act motherly.

After a few short responses, Nash ended the call. This hotel belonged to Freya's family, making it his turf. He had already sent his security team to check for any suspicious figures on the premises, so now it was time to start gathering information.

When Nina finally regained consciousness, she found herself face-to-face with a masked man. She kept her tone steady, cold. "If you went through all this trouble to bring me here, why hide behind a mask? Is your face really that shameful?" The man let out a laugh, handing her a photo of a woman who looked strikingly like her. "What do you think of her resemblance? She's currently with your husband, alone, just the two of them. Any thoughts on what might happen between them?" Just the thought thrilled him.

Nina glanced around, assessing her surroundings and sizing up the man's strength. Subtly, she twisted her wrists behind her back, slowly loosening the ropes until they came free. She kept her face composed, revealing nothing. Her calm demeanor was far beyond what the masked man had anticipated.

"Did you hear me?" he said, irritation breaking into his voice. "I sent that woman to pose as you. She's with Nash right now, and he hasn't noticed a thing. Meanwhile, you're

stuck here with me."

Nina didn't bother to hide her scorn, her voice icy and deliberate. "You think that impostor will fool him? Keep dreaming."

The man's competitive streak flared. "Why don't we make a wager? If he doesn't recognize the imposter, you'll be my slave. If he does, I'll take off my mask and let you see my face."

The imposter was his meticulous

creation, crafted over three months to mirror Nina down to every detail Every angle, every gesture, even her voice was flawless. How could such a perfect replica possibly fail to deceive Ethan?

After all, even if the two of them stood before him, he wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

Nina, holding back a smirk, accepted his bet with ease. "Fine. I'll win this, no doubt. How long is the wager?"

"Not long at all. You'll be reunited soon enough," he replied with a malicious smile hidden behind his mask.

The "reunion" he planned involved a fatal twist. He had poisoned the imposter, ensuring that if Nash and the woman shared any level of intimacy, Nash would die soon after.

With Nash dead and Nina under his control, he would gain not only the wealth of the York family but leverage over Micah, using Nina's life to strengthen his organization's power.

Convinced of his victory, the masked

man waited in smug anticipation, while Nina bided her time. Before leaving for this mission, Micah had given her a discreet tracking device, the size of a fingernail, which she had tucked into a button of her clothing.

So far, the masked man hadn't noticed, and she knew it wouldn't be long before Micah's team tracked her location and came to her aid.
