Time ticked by, and at first, the masked man was filled with confidence. But as the minutes slipped away, unease began to creep in.

Why hadn't he received a call by now? The delay could only mean one thing. His meticulously crafted decoy had failed.

If that were true, it meant not only that his true identity would be uncovered, but also that his base could be compromised. If Nash arrived with backup, everything would fall apart. "Nina, you and he must have a deep connection," the masked man sneered, his gaze piercing as he looked at her. "Otherwise, how could he have spotted the imposter so quickly?" He tried to brush off his failed plan, thinking he still had her as leverage. Both Nash and Micah would be reluctant to let her be harmed, making her a powerful bargaining chip in his hands.

He stepped closer, ripping off his mask to reveal a remarkably plain face beneath. "The bet's over, I lost," he admitted. "Per our agreement, I'm showing you my face. But there's one more thing you should know. Anyone who's seen my face doesn't live to tell."

With that, he pulled out a syringe, intending to inject her with the same sedative as before, leaving her utterly defenseless. But in an instant, Nina freed herself from the ropes and snatched the syringe from him. She then swiftly drove it into his shoulder, pressing the plunger all the way down. The sedative flooded his system, and shock filled his eyes.

"How... how is this possible?" he stammered. The ropes had been tied so tightly. She was only a woman. How could she have such strength?

Nina met his gaze coldly, "Now it's your turn to be my hostage." She had no intention of explaining. She would let him take that mystery to the grave.

She restrained the man and pulled a handgun from his waistband, pressing it firmly against his temple. "The Shadow organization must be yours, right? You're their leader, but in the face of a bullet, everyone's equal. So if you don't want me to pull this trigger, I suggest you start cooperating."

The man's face paled. He had threatened countless lives and left a trail of bloodshed, but this was the first time anyone had held him at gunpoint. Helpless under the drug's effects, he could only watch as Nina guided him out.

Outside, the area was surrounded by mercenaries and Yaren Tribe soldiers. Nash's reach only extended so far, especially here. It would have taken a direct intervention from Micah to pull this off.

"Fool," Nina sneered, kicking him to

the ground. She didn't want the stain

of killing him on her own hands, but justice would be swift. With the

entire Shadow organization

dismantled, including the impel

he had spoken of, she had brought arend to their reign of terror.

Looking closely at the decoy, Nina remarked, "She really does look a lot like me."

"But I saw right through her from the start," Nash said, taking her hand. To him, even the smallest details were glaringly obvious when it came to the one he loved.

They exchanged a quiet smile. Now that the Shadow organization was finished, they prepared to fly home.

On the way to the airport, Nash's assistant called, "Mr. York, I wanted to let you know I'll be attending Ben's engagement party today, so I'm requesting some time off."
