Nash, of course, immediately approved the leave.

What neither he nor anyone else knew was that Ben harbored an unrequited love, someone he adored in his youth but came to despise over the years.

"Ben, not here... please..."

Jamie Lewis's voice quivered in pleading as he held her tightly against the narrow vanity. She was trapped, nowhere to escape under his unyielding hold. Her protests did nothing to sway him.

His gaze only hardened with a cold fury. "Now you know how to beg?" he sneered. "Where was your mercy when I was the one pleading?"

Jamie swallowed hard, her throat constricting painfully as she forced the words, "Ben, I know I wronged you back then. But Winnie is innocent. She's out there right now."

It was the engagement day of her younger sister, Winnie Lewis. While Winnie stood outside, joyfully greeting the guests in her wedding dress, Jamie was trapped here, humiliated by Winnie's own fiancé. Terror and a crushing guilt overwhelmed her, leaving her paralyzed and trembling. Ben was only more amused. "Scared, Jamie? I didn't think you were capable of that."

Of course she was scared. Winnie was her biological sister. Jamie tried to fight back, but Ben kept her pinned, forcing her into degrading poses in front of the mirror, watching her reflection.

Her face went pale. "Is my death the only thing that will satisfy your hatred, Ben?" she asked, the pain in her voice unmistakable.

Four years ago, she had broken his heart, and he hated her with every fiber of his being.

"Death?" Ben scoffed, his lips curling in a cold smile. "That's far too easy, Jamie. I want you to suffer."

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

"Jamie, are you in there?" Winnie's voice sounded from outside.

Hearing Winnie's voice made

Jamie's hear leap to her throat; she froze, feeling like she had been

plunged into ice. She didn't dare et

make a sound, hoping Winnie.

wouldn't realize she was trapped.

But Ben had other plans. With a look of twisted satisfaction, he grabbed Jamie, pulling her toward the door Jamie realized with horror that. Winnie couldn't get in, she might get someone to help, exposing everything.

Before she could act, Ben leaned in close, his voice a dark whisper in her ear. "Agree to be mine," he demanded, "and I'll let you go."

How could they be together now? He was about to marry her sister. But with the pounding at the door growing louder and Ben's unrelenting hold on her, Jamie had no choice. "Fine." Her voice shook as she answered.

In that instant, he released her. With barely a second to compose herself, Jamie quickly opened the door before Winnie could break in.

"Jamie, you scared me to death! I thought something happened to you!" Winnie exclaimed, her worry evident.

She hadn't seen Jamie in a while

and had been unable to reach her by phone. Hearing she had gone to the lounge, Winnie had grown frantic when Jamie hadn't answered her knocks.

Jamie managed an excuse. "I was in the restroom. My stomach's been acting up." It was the only reason she could think of for her silence. Winnie's face softened with concern as she held Jamie's hand. "Do you need to go to the hospital? I'll call Jack," she offered, reaching for her phone. But before she could make the call, Ben's phone rang loudly from within the lounge.
