Two weeks.

That's how long it had been since the Alpha princes or should I say the hot and sexy trio of our school as they were fondly called now, had been in attendance. They were everywhere. They literally ruled the entire school without being conscious about it. Every girl wanted to be seen with them, every girl wanted to have lunch with them, every girl wanted to get noticed by them. Even the boys would give anything to be a partaker of their crew and be a witness to the powerful aura they carried around. Well, everyone except

me.

I know them. I've met them and I've lived with them. And as sad as it was, nothing good came forth from our twisted relationship that we all shared. It never ended well. It was nothing but chaos, lies and fighting. One had even gone out of his way to hurt me. I don't want them around me. And I most definitely don't want to have anything to do with them. At first when I saw them again, it was like something inside me had awaken and was calling out to them desperately but I ignored and for the life in me, I would keep on ignoring till I am left with no other choice but to graduate and leave this s**t hole where I didn't belong.

But until then, I would have to pretend that I didn't know that they existed. I would have to pretend that I didn't know them and that I haven't met them in my entire life. I would have to move past the raging beat of my heart when they were near me. I would have to go from this bitter sweet pleasure that seemed to draw me alongside them. I don't want to be caught up in their siblings rivalry.

Levi had accused me before of being the reason why they split up. He had told me that their lovely relationship had ended because of me and that was the reason why he hated me.

But I still didn't get it though. If he wanted me dead then why were they here? What was the purpose of their visit and breaking the lifelong tradition of not coexisting amongst humans? Why did they take such a huge step? Or were they probably here because he wanted to finish the job that he had started? Where they here to complete the mission since I didn't die?

I don't know the reason why they're here but I also know that it's not good. They're dangerous and keeping away from them is the only way to secure my safety.

"Alright everyone." Mr Davies voice pierced through my dark hazel world and I am forced to look at him. Quincy's hands accidentally grazed mine and even though I felt the spark, I decided to remain oblivious as to what had just happened.

"To round up today's class, you guys are going to be working in pairs." He announced while I stuffed my books up in a pile. "So, choose a partner that you would be comfortable to work with and try to work on any of the project topics listed on the board together. You're expected to do a final review in a week's time. Dismissed." He added with a cheeky smile before heading out of the class.

"Hey Amery" Asher called from across the table and everyone turned to look at me. I didn't want this sort of attention and I definitely didn't want to cause another scandal because of them. I had barely survived the video incident so what now?

I cussed inwardly wondering why he was so keen on embarrassing or talking to me and the funny part of everything is that he had abandoned his table to come to mine.

"Hi" I drawled feeling uninterested. I picked up the burger from my plate and took a bite from it.

"So I talked to Mr Davis about the project and he agreed that we should be partners" He said surprising me before taking a sit opposite mine.

"Why do you keep on following me? You can literally be friends with anyone around here. Anyone other than me so why won't you stay away?"

"Amery..." He trailed off with a sober look on his face. "Listen, I wanted to apologize for what had happened that day in the woods." He said in a whisper and the memories that I had been trying so hard to suppress came gushing out like a gust of wind. I wanted to forget about that day but he had gone ahead to remind me now.

"I'm very sorry for what Levi had done to you." He continued in a low voice while I focused on my food. "And I'm sorry that I wasn't there to protect you when you needed me. You see, we had a bet that whoever wins the morning race had a right to you for the entire evening of our birthday celebration and that's why I wasn't there to help you Amery. I'm a jerk and I'm sorry because I know how much you trusted me and I failed you."

He reached out to hold my hands but I withdrew from his touch as if he had burnt me.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said to his surprise as well as mine. If there was anyone that I connected with on a personal level then it would be Asher and it breaks my heart to see that I was trying to get away from him. He had been trying to get to talk to me all week but I just wouldn't give him the chance to. It was for the very best and I won't regret it.

"Amery-"

"Lunch is over." I interrupted and stood up from my seat. "I'd like to get back to class. Have a nice day."

I am about to walk away when I locked eyes with Levi from across the cafeteria. I hadn't seen him all week and it came as a surprise to see that he also existed as well. Without giving it a second thought, I glared at him and made my way back inside. I wouldn't let them get to me, no matter what happens.
