Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 81
AMERY
.
"Don't go after him." Levi whispered softly as he held me back. I am scared and I feel like something bad is going to happen to him. I don't know why though but it's sort of making me restless. Maybe I shouldn't have rejected his proposal. Maybe I should've just agreed to be his girlfriend. If I hadn't said no, he wouldn't have left so angrily. I had hurt him and the thought of it just didn't sit well with me.
I tried to break free from Levi's grip. "Just let me go after him Levi. I need to make sure that he's okay. He needs me and I have to help him." I sniffled but he wouldn't let me go. I have never seen Asher in a mood like this and it's scary. He was always the type to s**k it in. He wasn't loud and neither was he petty and obnoxious like his brothers.
He never went against my wishes and he always made sure that I was comfortable around him all the time so seeing him like this had broken me beyond compare. He had always been nice and caring to me and now I had hurt him beyond words. "Please..." I trailed off pleadingly. My hands trying to pull Levi's hold on me. "He'd get hurt If I don't go after him."
"You will get hurt if you go after him." Levi conveyed. "He's not in a right state of mind so there's no telling what he might do to you if you go after him. Plus, he's in his wolf form so he probably has sprinted far and even if you chased after him when you did, your peony little legs wouldn't have gotten you far anyway."
"I hurt him." I whispered painfully.
"No. He wanted more and you couldn't give it to him. He's just facing the first stage of rejection which is denial. It has nothing to do with you and he'd probably take a few hours or days to cool off so he'll be fine." Levi rubbed my back soothingly and I somehow became relaxed.
"Where's Asher?" Quincy inquired as he stormed towards us. I had been lost In the state my own world that I didn't hear him approach us.
"He went for a run." Levi replied conversionally and I glared at him.
"He got upset and then he shifted into his wolf and out of the house in rage. I'm worried that he might hurt himself or worse." I laid down my fears and worries to Quincy who seemed like the only sensible person here. I intentionally left out the part about what had caused him to leave though. I couldn't get myself to blab about it and besides it was too embarrassing for anyone to replace out. And although Levi had tried to comfort me earlier but it felt like he didn't care a single bit about his brother or what might happen to him. "Why are you both getting worked up about it? We all know Asher and I know for a fact that he'll be fine. This isn't the first time that he'd be running away from home." Levi said in his defense.
"You're right." I conceded. "This might not be the first time he'd be running away from home but you seem to be forgetting that this isn't your home and if anyone happens to catch him in his wolf form, he'd be hunted down across the state. Why do you think that your kind is in hiding over here? Werewolves and humans doesn't coexist and that's why I'm worried."
Levi scrunched his face in worry when my words sank in.
"Amery is right Levi. Remember what Damien told us? We can't afford to make any mistakes. I'd go in search of him."
"I'm coming with you." I offered but he turned me down.
"It's late and it might be dangerous out there. Don't worry. I'll try my best to replace him and I'll let you know when and if I do." And with that, Quincy rushed out of the house as well leaving me alone with Levi.
For a moment there, neither of us said anything to each other until Levi decided to break the silence.
"Quincy won't come back until later so you can stay in my room while we both wait up for him." He offered calmly. It took me a moment to realize that we were still standing at the entrance of Asher's bedroom. Levi's words had left speechless. He had never spoken to me so calmly before. What happened to trying to kill me and burying me six feet under? What has suddenly changed? This was a whole new side of Levi and I didn't know if I was supposed to trust and follow his words blindly because the last three to six times had almost cost me my life.
"I need to call my mum first and let her know what's up. I'll be back" I excused myself from his presence and went straight to the living room. I placed a call across to mum telling her that I won't be able to make it back for the night. I even went as far as lying to her that the project took us all day and we weren't able to finish it so we decided to call it day but by the time we were through, it was already late and I wouldn't be able to catch the bus home.
If only she knew that I spend the entire day playing a game that had me getting naked in front of three boys who happened to be my mate and also rejecting one who decided to run away into the unknown was the reason why I couldn't make it, she'd probably have my head on a platter but I was glad that she understood my point and gave me permission to stay.
I retraced my steps back to Levi's room and I found him laying down with his back on the bed while his eyes were glued to the ceiling above him. He didn't say a word to me but I could tell that he had already sensed my presence in the room.
"You told your mom that you were working late?" He asked with a raised brow. "Damn Amery, I didn't know that you could lie."
"It wasn't necessarily a lie." I said in my defense. "We did work on the project. I just left out the part of the conversation that wasn't important and were you eavesdropping?"
He turned his head to the side and I am met with a pair of black, beautiful orbs. "I am a wolf Amery and although I've lost touch with my animal but it doesn't mean that I am completely useless."
I approached him and sat down on the fluffy couch just beside the bed. "Does your mom know that you're over at a guy's house and not a girl or did you lie about that part too?"
I blinked rapidly. "I don't have to tell her everything. My mom is not so keen on boys and the only boy she'd ever let close to me was Sean and that was until we broke up."
My eyes took in his bedroom and I am quite impressed with the decor and interior. I didn't have the chance to get a better look before when I had barged in unannounced. For some reason, his room looked quite warm which was far different from his personality. "When you were at our realm." He began, jolting me back to reality. "All you ever talked about was that guy so why then did you break up with him? Wasn't he good enough for you anymore?"
I sighed feeling defeated. "He was and is still a jerk but I thought that he would change and try to apologize for his behavior but I guess that I was wrong and that little stunt he pulled at the gym the other day, confirmed it."
"Little Miss perfect." He mumbled but loud enough for me to hear. "You always fall for the wrong ones."
"Have you ever been intimate with him? Your ex boyfriend I mean?" Levi asked before I could make a remark on his previous statement. "Has he popped your cherry?"
I flushed, feeling embarrassed. "Why are you asking me that? It's none of your business." I replied through gritted teeth.
"I can tell that he hasn't. Your reaction earlier proves it." He stated with a cynical smile.
"I'm not having this conversation with you." I made to stand up but he flattened his palm on my thighs, preventing me from doing so.
"Don't you want to know how I found out?" He ran his hands up and down my thighs in a circular motion and I felt all the nerves from earlier before come alive like the fourth of July.
"Because, I could still taste your arousal from earlier. Your musky scent filled my insides and it was weird but I wanted to have a taste of it. Does it make you scared?" He asked and I froze. He was talking dirty and for some reasons, his words got to me.
