Fall For “My Husband’s Uncle” By Janet Macadam -
Chapter 90
Chapter 90
“If you want to be with me, you should take the initiative to please me. You’re not clever at all, and you don’t even know how to play games. The Lawson family will eat you alive. Without any supporters, you are destined to become someone’s prey. What’s the use of saying you’re Simon’s wife? In the Lawson family, only capable people can survive, and I’m the best at surviving and thriving!”
A strange feeling rose in Edith’s chest when she heard this.
“Is he advising me to be more devious?
“Why does he keep pestering me and even reminding me to choose the right ladder to serve?”
She wanted to open her eyes and look at his expression at the moment. However, as soon as she opened her eyes, a bath towel fell on her head. It was the one that Carlos had just wiped her body with.
The towel covered her face and blocked her sight.
“If you don’t want to be taunted by Vanessa or myself, you should be smarter. You don’t even know how to curry favor with others! Do you think asking for my help is that easy?”
His voice moved further and further away until it finally dissipated in the wind.
Edith lifted the bath towel just in time to see Carlos open the door and leave. She could only see his back; he looked so determined and proud from behind.
It was as if nothing would make him give in.
She sighed faintly. Thinking of what had happened today, she felt her heart sink.
He was right. When she introduced herself earlier as Simon’s wife, Mr. Grismer didn’t care at all.
In the upper class, only one’s strength mattered.
This was the primary tenant of society. The weak were prey to the strong.
Simon was the second son of the Lawson family. The title seemed to be glamorous, but it was only a superficial position. Carlos was the one who could make people tremble with fear. Edith wondered if she could never escape from the Lawson family for the rest of her life, could she seek refuge with Carlos?
As soon as this idea came to her, she ruthlessly told herself no.
She reminded herself what kind of a person Carlos was. Like Simon, he only treated her as a trophy that they got at high costs. Moreover, he didn’t like women. It was better to marry Simon than to marry him!
It would hurt her eyes to see him messing with men every day. She really didn’t want to do that to herself.
Simon wasn’t a bad choice. At the very least, he didn’t interfere with her life and gave her enough freedom, unlike his uncle, who was obviously in charge of the whole group but seemed to have nothing to do with the day–to–day running. She kept bumping into him wherever she went. How annoying!
She knew she couldn’t be fooled by what Carlos said. He must have wanted to marry her to shut everyone up so that it would be convenient for him to date men secretly. Maybe one of Aaron, Brian, and Robert had an intimate relationship.
with him.
She felt Robert could be the candidate because he reminded her of a bottom.
“Carlos isn’t a bottom, is he?”
As soon as this thought came to her mind, she covered her mouth in surprise.
The speculation wasn’t completely groundless.
If Carlos is a bottom, some man would press him onto the bed, and…
“Oh my god! Have I learned something I shouldn’t have?”
She was so scared that she hid under the blanket. She felt she knew too many secrets about Carlos now.
If Carlos knew what inappropriate ideas his wife had formed about him, he would probably want to kill himself.
Meanwhile, Carlos had already arrived at the underground warehouse. Because he hadn’t left yet, Sam had tied Elvis up here and waited for Carlos‘ decision.
Elvis was tied up, and his mouth was stuffed with a rag. He couldn’t say a word and merely groaned in discomfort.
He was extremely uneasy and broke out in a cold sweat. Beads of sweat rolled down, stinging his eyes. He narrowed his in pain and saw a person gradually appear in his blurred vision.
Before he could see the person clearly, he was kicked to the ground.
eyes
The cold leather shoe rubbed hard against his face, and he felt a sharp pain. He wanted to cry out, but he couldn’t make a
sound.
“How was it? Did you enjoy hitting my woman?” The individual said these words in a grim voice. There was no light in the warehouse. Even in the daytime, it was still frighteningly dark. This intimidating person seemed like he was conjured from the dark depths themselves.
Even Sam, standing at the side, felt a little frightened by this terrifying energy.
It had been a long time since he had seen Mr. Lawson get so angry, except for a few years ago for that woman.
There was always a sore spot in a person’s life that couldn’t be touched. Before, it was a certain person. It seemed the spot. was occupied by someone else now.
