I'm Not Yours, Alpha -
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 11
Dominic came into the kitchen and rapped his knuckles on the black marble of the plateau, hurting in the process.
He had been stupid to use his voice on this young man who seemed genuinely confused by the situation. He knew he was forcing everything, but he was getting desperate and that was just asking for trouble. He turned on the cooker and took some food out of the fridge. Cooking always put his mind at ease and relaxed him.
By the time he returned to the room with a tray he found Aidan lying on the bed covered up and on his back burying his head in the pillow.
-I brought you something to eat,” she said.
He didn’t move and she sensed that he had fallen asleep. She set the tray on the bedside table, sat on the edge of the bed and shook him lightly by the shoulder, but he didn’t respond. She sighed and pulled the sheet back a little, leaving the curve of his shoulder uncovered. She wanted to touch him, to go all over his body and replace out what he was hiding under the covers.
-I’ll leave your dinner here, if you need anything, just say so,” she traced his skin with her lips until they lingered longer than necessary on the back of his neck.
Then she turned off the light and closed the door softly so as not to wake him.
Aidan opened his eyes and found himself in the dark. That would be impossible. His skin still prickled in the place he had kissed. He brought his fingers there and covered the area tightly. Why he felt so different when he was with his current boyfriend, he didn’t understand and he didn’t want it to be yes, he hated his body betraying him like that.
The alarm blared in Dominic’s ears at six in the morning. He hated getting up early, but for the first time he was relieved not to have the usual omega screeching so early. He had called her and sent her to a hotel in the night and that had been the best thing in his entire life. As an alpha who had found his destined mate, having anyone other than this one was repulsive to him. It was time to get things in order before they got out of control.
Brushing his hair away from his face, he sat up and instantly knew. He clicked his teeth. He’d forgotten that the door to his flat could be opened from the inside, and that feeling that churned in his chest told him only one thing. His omega was gone.
Aidan didn’t mind people staring at her as she walked down the avenue with her ill-fitting clothes and her hair matted from not having been combed. He imagined that dark circles under her eyes adorned her white skin like beautiful panda eye spots. She took steps as fast as her tiredness would allow, which in truth was moving slowly. He hadn’t slept a wink all night and his body was aching again, causing him discomfort all over.
Without realising it, he bumped into someone and managed to stand up somewhat unsteadily.
-Excuse me,” he replied reluctantly.
-Oh, don’t worry, it was nothing…” the tall man he had collided with stopped talking and narrowed his eyes, grabbing him roughly by the shoulder, “You, you smell delicious…” He stiffened, regaining his composure.
Aidan tensed, regaining his composure he realised he was an alpha and was looking at him as if he were prey. Catching him off guard she dug her nails into his hand causing him to let go and running past him she began to run trying to put as much distance between him and the alpha as possible. In the distance he heard her screams and the murmurs of people, but nothing would stop him. He ran until his lungs and feet ached until he reached his house where he entered, closed the door and let his back drop, trying to breathe.
-Aidan,” his mother came out of the kitchen, scowling and extremely annoyed, anger oozing from every pore of her body.
The young man raised his head and the last person he wanted to deal with now was the woman who used to question him about everything. He knew she would surely question him on where he had been, he hadn’t told her anything and he hadn’t been with her boyfriend, but now he wasn’t ready to talk. Breaking away from the door he walked around his mother’s side and up the stairs so fast that she couldn’t follow him and bolted the door once she was safely in her room.
His body was burning, his head was killing him and the dizziness was multiplying. As best she could, she made it to the shower leaving her clothes all over the floor and stepped under the cold water that only made her shiver and didn’t let go of any of her aches and pains. He hit the tile with a curse. Everything was turning upside down, his structured life, the stability of his mind. Everything.
He didn’t know how long he was underwater, but his fingers were stiff when he felt the bathroom door open and he startled.
-My love, are you here,” Hans’ voice echoed inside the small room.
Aidan scrunched his eyebrows together, how the hell had he gotten in.
-Hans, what are you doing here,” he questioned. As far as he could remember, he was the only one who had the key to his room.
-Come on Aidan, don’t be like that, I only came in because your mother called me worried, you didn’t come back all night,” he said.
She pulled back the curtain and looked at him with a calm face, but her eyes didn’t show the same. They were accusing, staring at him without missing a detail.
-Hans, if I close the door to my room it’s because I want some privacy, not because I want people around me, then you’ll have to tell me how you opened it.” If he had little patience for his mother, even less for this beta, he felt his body want to get away from him as fast as possible.
She heard him sigh and grit his teeth. She grabbed him hard by the wrist to pull him out of the shower, but he resisted.
-Let go of me,” Aidan’s tone of voice was low.
He didn’t let go, on the contrary, he squeezed even harder knowing that he would leave a mark afterwards. He g*****d low at the squeeze and clenched his knuckles.
-What do you want?
-I’m annoyed Aidan, I don’t like unruly couples.
He raised an eyebrow.
-Then you should replace yourself a more submissive one.
-Don’t provoke me my love, you know that this marriage has been arranged for many years, it’s not like we can just break it up now,” as soon as he said those words he fell silent and his face showed a frustrated expression.
-Arranged, arranged marriage? Hans, when did this become a business? Aidan was shocked but kept as calm as he could. He’d known him since he was a boy and had agreed to marry him in the end, but the arranged marriage part involved other things that were beyond his knowledge.
-That’s not something you need to know,” he looked nervous, “Get out of the shower, you’re colder than a frog and you might get sick.
He pulled him and made him lose his balance, catching him before he fell. That’s when he saw something he didn’t like at all on the back of his boyfriend’s neck.
-So this was the reason why you didn’t come back last night,” the serious tone made him alert and he sat up and moved a few centimetres away, “if you’re going to betray me at least don’t leave k**s marks on your body,” he said.
K**s marks? I knew it. Dominic hadn’t been careful when he kissed him. He pulled back until he touched the tiled wall behind him. Before he could react Hans’ hand landed on his face and sent him reeling. Drops of b***d mingled with the water trickling down the drain.
Aidan touched his throbbing cheek and b***d from his l*p ran down his palm. He had hit him.
