Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 35

The Dark Moon pack, California

Natalia

“Well, that went better than expected,” my uncle said, holding an unconscious Lisa in his arms. He wiped her face with a cold wet cloth that he had kept close by when he took his seat, foreseeing the result of my revelation.

“Well d.amn,” I growled and watched in agony as Fabrizio tried to bring Lisa back to her senses.

Soon, a pale Lisa looked at me in a daze and whispered.

“Nat, are you serious? You’re a werewolf?”

“Yes, sweetheart, I am”, I replied and waited for my friend to faint again.

Instead, she started laughing hysterically, and soon her laughter turned to sobs that shook her entire body.

“This. Is. Unbelievable.” Lisa said between sobs.

“I still love you the same way, Lisa. Nothing has changed now that you know the truth,” I replied softly.

I smiled at her and put my hand up on the screen to touch her face.

She looked at me for a while.

“I love you too, you crazy werewolf friend of mine. God, your kind surrounded me and I had no idea. Why did you hide it from me, Nat? Did you think I wouldn’t accept you? I won’t forgive you that easily for what you did,” she said, still crying, upset with me.

“I need to talk to Massimo. Fabrizio, please call him and ask him to come to my house,” Lisa said. My friend ended our connection, angry with me for keeping my identity a secret, leaving me in agony about what she would do about Massimo and the baby in her womb.

I left my room and headed to Blake’s office. I needed a distraction, or else I would go nuts. I had to tell Blake what had happened, and maybe he could help me think of a way to help Lisa.

What if I asked him to take a quick trip to Italy? I would see my friend in person and help her out.

I liked the idea of that. It would help Lisa if she saw me face to face. My friend needed my presence; I was sure of it.

I walked down the corridor and headed for the stairs. Something was bothering me. As I approached my husband’s office, a creepy feeling gave me negative vibes.

What could it be? Why did I feel like that suddenly?

I approached Blake’s office and noticed that his door was half open.

“Blake, are you sure you want me completely out of your life?”

Emma’s voice stopped me. What was she doing in my husband’s office?

“Emma, for the hundredth time, stop humiliating yourself. I told you before, Natalia is my chosen mate, my Luna. Nothing will happen between you and me ever again,” came my husband’s impatient reply.

I smiled. Blake was not falling for that b***h’s tricks.

Well done, baby!

“How can you put your trust and love in a person whose entire family betrayed you, Blake? You were the one that told me those stories. Remember how you swore you would take revenge on everyone for how they treated you?

“Your voice was full of venom when you mentioned Natalia back then. The desire for revenge was burning you up inside. How could you forget those feelings, Blake? Did your precious wife bewitch you or something?” Emma’s voice was shaky, protesting.

I expected to hear an abrupt reply, which would put Emma in her place, but he didn’t say anything, which confused me.

I peeped around the door and watched him stand behind his desk, his hands balled into fists. Blake had a gloomy expression on his face. Emma was standing opposite him, and Lucas was beside her, listening without interfering.

Why did my husband not reply to her question? What was on his mind?

“Blake, what are you going to do? Will you not take responsibility for our unborn child? Or do you want me to have an abortion?” Emma asked my husband in a trembling voice, and I froze.

What? Was Emma pregnant with my husband’s baby?

Again, no reply from Blake.

“How do I know you are pregnant for sure, Emma? I cannot scent the baby on you. If it were mine, Aries would tell me right away,” Blake stated, and my heart sat in my throat at Blake’s sudden statement.

“You cannot scent the baby because it’s too small, Blake. I took some medication to stop the bleeding. That prevents the baby’s scent from appearing,” Emma answered.

My legs couldn’t hold me any longer. I needed to take a seat. My husband’s voice stopped me from moving.

“I need time to think, Emma. The news you gave me is so sudden. I need a few days to think,” Blake replied with a shaky voice and nervously ran his fingers through his hair.

“Sure, I understand,” she replied and strode to the door.

I barely took a few steps back, pretending I was heading to Blake’s office.

With my stormy heart shredded into a thousand tiny pieces and a lump in my throat that threatened to turn into an overflowing river of tears, I kept my composure and greeted Emma indifferently.

“Emma,” I nodded and watched as she greeted me back, a smug smile on her face. She lowered her head and replied.

“Luna.” Then she walked away.

I stood there, rooted to the spot, trying to control my feelings and face Blake, wondering whether he would tell me what had happened between Emma and him.

I took a few breaths to subdue the turmoil in my heart and took small steps towards Blake’s office.

“What are you going to do, Blake? Natalia will throw a fit when she replaces out,” Lucas said, and Blake growled in annoyance.

“Don’t you think I know that, Lucas? What the hell am I supposed to do? I did not expect something like this to happen,” he replied, frustrated.

“What if your wife demands that Emma gets an abortion? I mean, she has every right to do that, man. She is the legal Luna of the pack,” Lucas continued, and Blake cut him off.

“No one else but me will decide this baby’s future, Lucas. Not even Natalia.”

He sounded upset.

My heart pounded inside my chest. Was I delusional, or did my husband just ignore my existence and feelings?

“Don’t tell me that your marriage and mating to Natalia was a charade, Blake. Was everything you did out of revenge? And if so, how far are you willing to go? You have already mated with Natalia and her feelings for you are pure. Are you sure you want to jeopardise your relationship with your wife?”

Blake didn’t reply to Luca’s question, which only broke my heart more.

I didn’t wait to hear if my husband would reply. Deep down, I felt Lucas had spoken the truth. Leia tried to comfort me and excuse Blake’s reaction because of the shock he felt about replaceing out about Emma’s pregnancy, but I blocked my wolf without a second thought.

I entered the room without notice, and Blake looked at me, dazed and rooted in place.

Not giving him time to react, I blurted out my thoughts.

“Blake, I have to take a quick trip to Italy. Elisa, my friend, is having some difficulties and I want to be there for her. I will book a ticket this morning and leave on the first flight to Italy.”

I stormed out of my husband’s office, eyes full of tears, and I wiped them angrily, rushing back to my room. Taking my phone, I booked a flight that departed for Italy that same afternoon.

By the time Blake appeared in the room, I had packed a suitcase with all the needed clothing and accessories.

“Nat, sweetheart, why the rush?” Blake tried to hug me, but I avoided his touch, pretending I was looking for something in my drawers.

“Lisa means a lot to me, Blake. I can’t just leave her alone now that she needs me the most. I will be leaving for the airport in half an hour. There is an early flight this evening.” I replied, not looking at him.

He didn’t reply, and an awkward silence filled the room.

“When will you be coming back?” he asked in a low voice.

I shrugged.

“Not sure yet. I want to see how Lisa is and then decide,” I replied.

“Nat, are you feeling all right, hun? Is something bothering you besides your friend’s problem?” my husband asked suspiciously, and I looked at him.

“Should there be something to bother me, Blake?” I questioned, and he looked at me dumbfounded, not knowing what to reply.

“That’s what I thought”, I murmured and entered the bathroom. I needed a few minutes alone, or else all hell would break loose.

I sat on the floor, my face in my hands. Breathing deeply, I tried to control my feelings and not burst into tears. I didn’t want to give Blake the pleasure of seeing me cry for him.

I returned to the room, and Blake was standing where I had left him. He seemed lost in thought. Knowing what bothered him, I felt angry again.

“I need to go to my office and work on some pending issues,” I said and walked past him towards the door.

“Natalia,” he called, and gripped my arm.

“What is it, my love? Why are you so upset?” he asked, and I wanted to punch his handsome face and show him who upset me.

“Nothing is wrong, Blake. I’m upset about my friend’s news, that’s all,” I replied.

He pulled me in his arms for a hug, and I wrapped my arms around him, feeling so cold inside, as if hugging an iceberg. Nothing Blake did for me could make me feel better. I needed time away from him to sort things out.

I pretended I enjoyed our hug and hurriedly left the room. In my office, I buried myself in paperwork for the rest of the day, and when I left the room, I went upstairs to get my suitcase.

Blake was waiting for me there.

“I will take you to the airport,” he smiled sadly, and I mentally sneered.

“You don’t have to,” I replied, but the look he gave me made me stop.

We drove in silence, with Blake shooting me glances full of worry from time to time.

I pretended not to notice, but his stare became intense after a while, and I turned to him.

“Is there something you want to share with me, Blake?” there was sarcasm in my voice, which startled my husband. He seemed lost for a minute and then moved in his seat uncomfortably.

That’s what I thought! I said inwardly and ignored him for the rest of the drive to the airport.

We arrived and entered the busy airport.

Blake held my suitcase in one hand and me in the other.

When it was time for me to enter the departure gate, he hugged me tightly, not letting go.

“Blake, you’re suffocating me”, I complained, and he pulled back unwillingly.

“I will miss you, Natalia. Please come back soon, my love,” he whispered, his face hidden in the crook of my neck, kissing me softly.

I looked at my husband and smiled bitterly.

We will see about that, Blake. I don’t think you will have much time to think about me. You must decide what to do with your illegitimate unborn child and whether our marriage is a charade. Or whether your actions result from an act of well-planned revenge. So, there won’t be any space for me.”

I could hear Blake call my name, but I wiped my teary eyes and walked away.
