Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 69

The Dinners Inn motel, California

Massimo

I had been waiting in the room for Natalia and Elisa to return from breakfast, unable to control my nerves. It was crazy how things had worked out. Teresa was a walking time bomb, and I was supposed to wait in the room for two women to implement our plan. What if Teresa did something outrageous and harmed one of them?

“Calm down, Massimo. Natalia would mind-link us if anything bad happened. Let’s be patient, man.” Drake was the voice of reason tempering my messed-up thoughts.

He had entered the room from the back, unnoticed, and waited with me patiently.

Not long after, I heard the door open and rushed to the living room. A flustered Elisa stood in front of me, her eyes filled with hatred.

“Baby, is everything alright? What happened?” I rushed to her and helped her sit on the sofa.

“We met Teresa in the dining room. It’s not your girlfriend you should be worried about, it’s Teresa. She most likely has a heart attack after the way my friend here treated her this morning,” Natalia giggled and told me what had happened at breakfast.

While Natalia spoke, I kept my eyes on Elisa and never once did she blink. She had a stony expression on her face waiting for Natalia to finish.

“I actually enjoyed the apple pie,” she said in a sweet voice and Natalia burst into laughter.

“All you think about is food these days, have you noticed?” she asked Elisa playfully.

“How can you joke like that? Don’t you realise that after Teresa met you she would surely contact Ace and try to harm you? Do you think that’s funny?” my voice was low because I was afraid that Teresa might have followed them back to the room.

“If I know Ace well, he will probably attack soon, afraid that you two might go back to the Dark Moon pack. We should tell Blake to be prepared,” Drake said and picked up the phone.

“There’s no need for that, Drake. You should mind-link your brother instead.” Natalia stopped him from calling and Drake hesitated.

“You can do it, Drake. That way you can hear my sister’s voice as well,” Natalia urged him, smiling but with determination. Was she trying to mend the relationship between Blake and his younger brother? Natalia was an alpha-b***d female werewolf and that said it all.

“Any regrets?” Onyx asked.

“No! Never.” I replied immediately, looking at Elisa’s chubby cheeks. Pregnancy suited her.

“My Luna is also a badass chick, Onyx. So what if she’s human? I will mark her and make her mine,” I boasted and Onyx agreed with me.

“Blake? Natalia and Elisa met Teresa this morning,” Drake’s voice echoed through the mind link.

“Did that b***h do anything to them?” Blake’s worried voice boomed inside my head.

“No, baby, we are fine,” Natalia replied calmly.

Blake

I was in my office trying to control the urge to get into the car and go back to the motel, to Natalia. The wait was unbearable and on top of that; I had to deal with my father’s reaction after seeing Drake. Everything was a mess and I was supposed to replace a solution. My wife’s safety was my only concern; nothing else mattered to me.

“Blake? Natalia and Elisa met Teresa this morning,” Drake’s voice startled me through the mind link.

“Did that b***h do anything to them?” I jumped from my seat, grabbing my car keys.

“No, baby, we are fine,” Natalia replied calmly.

“Nat, what happened, sweetheart?” I didn’t give a fu.ck who was listening to me. I was so worried about her and being formal was the least of my concerns.

“Nothing much, Blake. Teresa showed up and Elisa irked her by boasting about her pregnancy and Massimo’s marriage proposal,” Natalia giggled but I didn’t think it was funny.

“My what?” Massimo sounded shocked.

“Good thing this is a mind-link conversation because if Lisa heard your reaction she would give you a hard time,” Natalia giggled and I smiled at my wife’s cockiness.

“I didn’t mean that…”

“Guys, we are missing the point here. We need to rush things because Ace will definitely make a move in the next few days,” Drake said.

“Drake is right,” I admitted.

“We need to replace a way to track Ace’s movements,” I continued.

“No need to worry about that, guys. I will track his heartbeat from now on. And the moment I sense him close to the motel and Natalia, I will let you know. Natalia cannot shift to her wolf now that she is pregnant so she cannot use her special abilities,” Luna Alison interrupted, surprising us.

“Special abilities? What special abilities?” Both Massimo and Drake asked but Luna Alison cut them off.

“We have no time for this, boys. As of now, the operation of tracking down the culprit has officially started,” Luna Alison declared.

“Keep your walls down and wait for my signal. Blake, you should move closer to the motel after today. The rest you can deal with it later,” she addressed me and I felt dumbfounded. How could she know what I had been thinking before?

“Don’t forget that my grandmother can read minds, my friend,” Dylan, who had been listening without interfering, informed me and we all gasped in surprise.

“I will ensure to keep track of Ace’s thoughts and conversations through his mind links. Wait for my update,” Luna Alison added.

“I guess there’s nothing else we can do but wait. Natalia, did you and Elisa take the vials Dylan gave you? ” I asked my wife.

“Yeah, baby. There’s only one vial left for tonight. We should be fine. Elisa also takes the potions that Luna Alison prepared for her for the pregnancy, so she will be safe. Let’s see how those scumbags plan to abduct us,” Natalia replied with venom, but my father came into my office and I didn’t get the chance to respond.

“Baby, my dad is here. We’ll talk later.” I closed the link and turned to my father.

“What is it, dad?”

“Blake, how is Natalia doing? Have you talked to her today?”

“Yes, dad. We are preparing to take Ace down. Don’t worry, everything is under control,” I replied and took my car keys. I had to go replace Lucas and Jacob, give them my final instructions then leave for the room I rented close to the motel.

“Blake, wait! What about Elisabeth? How is she?” He blushed after asking me.

“She’s fine, dad. Her doctor is with her. Why don’t you go see her and ask her yourself? The hide-and-seek games we’re playing in this house should stop. What do you say?” I stared at my father who lowered his head and didn’t reply.

“We all made mistakes, dad. About time we fix some of them, don’t you think? How I see it, Elisabeth did me a favour back then. She might have her baby in a few days, in our house. Don’t you want to see your grandchild when it’s born?”

I knew I was pressuring my father with my words, but visiting Elisabeth would keep him busy and out of my way. I couldn’t risk his safety and worry about him as well. There was enough to worry about.

“Shall I take you to her?” I asked and walked to the door. I looked back and my father was standing there, hesitating.

”Come on, dad. She won’t bite you. Trust me, she will feel more uncomfortable than you,” I urged my father. No matter my feelings about my brother and his wife, he was my father’s son and I had to respect that.

“I need to be somewhere in an hour, Dad. Are you coming or not?” I walked out of the office and headed up to the second floor, not looking back. I knew that my father would follow me.

I entered the corridor upstairs and before heading to Elizabeth’s room, I turned back and made sure my father was following. I smiled at him.

“There is nothing to worry about, Dad. This is your house and Elizabeth is your guest. You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable around her,” I tried to ease his worries.

I knocked on the door of Elizabeth’s room and waited for the nurse to open it. Elizabeth was sitting on the bed and the doctor had been using the ultrasound to check on the baby’s movements.

When she saw me enter, she blushed and tried to pull her blouse down but I nodded to her and she stopped. Looking behind me, she saw my father and paled.

“It’s okay,” I mind-linked her using the link Luna Alison created for us.

“He wanted to see you and replace out about the baby’s health. He knows everything, Elisabeth. Act naturally and don’t be afraid. You have a baby to think about,” I said.

“You stay out of this, Drake,” I warned my brother who had been listening to my words and called Elisabeth’s name in a worried voice.

“Blake knows what he’s doing, Drake. There’s no need for you to worry. My sister is in good hands,” Natalia butted in and I couldn’t have been more grateful. My woman knew me so well.

I watched as my father locked eyes with a flustered Elisabeth and then his gaze travelled down to her swollen belly. He looked at Elisabeth again, and then at the monitoring device. As if noticing his presence, the baby moved inside Elisabeth’s womb and my father’s eyes filled with tears he didn’t try to hide. Elisabeth seemed uncomfortable and lowered her head in embarrassment.

“Dad wanted to check on you, Elisabeth. He is worried about you and the baby,” I blurted out and my father protested.

“No, I wasn’t,” he said blushing and I smirked.

“Is that why you asked me about them before? Because you are not worried?” I teased him, trying to ease the tension in the room.

My father coughed and cleared his throat before answering.

“I was curious, Blake, not worried,” he clarified and I smiled, nodding.

“Okay, you were curious. My mistake,” I replied.

“Doctor, is everything alright?” I turned to the doctor and asked, ignoring my father purposely. I watched from the corner of my eye as he kept his gaze on the monitor, watching the baby’s movement.

Yes. Blake. The baby is slowly positioning himself. He seems to be in a hurry to come out,” the doctor smiled and patted Elisabeth’s trembling hand.

“That’s good. If you need anything you can ask Jacob. I will be at a business meeting and won’t be around for a few days. If anything happens, notify my Gamma and he will get in touch with me,” I informed the doctor and turned to leave the room.

“I will be here, Blake. If they need anything they can look for me,” my father replied and I smiled. Bingo! Good thing I had my back turned to him and he couldn’t see my expression or he would be upset.

“Ace will make his move tomorrow at midnight,” Luna Alison’s voice startled me and Elisabeth. The latter let an exclamation of fear and I turned to her.

“Elisabeth, we settled everything, don’t worry. Please don’t show Drake that you are afraid or else you’ll confuse him and he won’t be efficient in carrying out our plan. You don’t want that, do you?” I was calm and my voice was low but authoritative. My father froze in place and looked at me with worry.

“Blake, what’s happening?”

“Dad, I need to go. Can you take care of Elizabeth for me? Natalia is worried about her and I don’t want to disappoint my wife.” Not waiting for his answer I left the room in a hurry and called Dylan.

“Hey, man, could you please tell your grandma to exclude Elisabeth from the link until we take Ace down? She was extremely worried just now and she might affect Drake and maybe Natalia with her negative feelings. I don’t want something like that to happen. We are so close to giving that as.shole the final blow.”

“Sure, Blake. Let me talk to her and I will text you when you can continue with the link,” Dylan ended the call.

Not long after I got a message from Dylan that he had settled my request, I mind-linked Natalia and the others.

“Elisabeth is no longer in the link. She was upset by Luna Alison’s last words and I thought it best to keep her out of it. Drake, you mustn’t call her. Dad is with her. Let him handle it.”

My brother tried to object but I cut him off.

“Stay focused Drake. We need to have clear minds to deal with the s**t you and Ace concocted. Just stick to the bloody plan. I am on my way to the place I rented and Lucas will follow with our men. Ace will strike tomorrow. Let’s get to the plan’s details once more. Drake, you and Massimo must…”
