Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate -
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 74
Natalia
My heart ached as I watched Fabrizio weep over Teresa’s lifeless body. She might have been a vicious woman and deserved to die, but seeing Fabrizio like that was killing me.
When Luna Alison and Dylan arrived, Fabrizio was still in the same position, holding Teresa in his arms. Luna Alison came to me and checked me for wounds. She then checked Elisa who lay in Massimo’s arms, crying like a baby while watching Fabrizio’s terrible state.
“Blake, you must get him out of here,” Luna Alison said, pointing at Fabrizio. “Leave the rest to me and Dylan. We will come replace you in the pack when we finish,” she continued.
My husband nodded and went to Fabrizio’s side. He took Teresa from his arms and lay her on the ground. He then helped Fabrizio up who didn’t protest at all. The man was in shock.
“Baby, you’d better come home with Drake and Massimo. They will drive you and Elisa. Lucas and I will take Fabrizio home,” Blake informed me and I nodded.
He then turned to Drake.
“Please take good care of her, Drake. I will see you at home.”
Blake left and I looked at Elisa. She was also in a state of shock. I went to her and she looked at me, still crying.
“He protected me, Nat. Fabrizio used Teresa as a human shield and protected me,” Elisa sobbed.
“I know, sweetie. You need to calm down, Lisa. Fabrizio will need our support. Please, sweetie,” I begged her.
She nodded and wiped her eyes, panting.
“We need to go back. Blake has already left with Fabrizio. We will meet them at home,” I informed her.
“Massimo, please help her into the car. Drake, you will drive.” I turned to my brother-in-law.
“Natalia, will you be alright?” Luna Alison asked me.
“I have to be. Who’s going to support them if I’m not okay? How I wish there was something that could make Fabrizio forget everything that happened today, everything that has to do with Teresa and her despicable way of taking revenge,” I said as tears ran down my face like a waterfall.
“I could help you with that, sweetie. Just give me some time to fix this mess and I will visit you in the pack. You are strong, Natalia. You can do it,” she encouraged me, wiping the tears off my face.
The motherly way she treated me brought more tears and I walked away, trying to calm down. I had to be strong for Fabrizio and Elisa.
The drive to the Dark Moon pack was silent. Everyone was tense for different reasons. Drake would meet his father again and Elisabeth who had been anxiously waiting for him.
Massimo, Elisa, and I were in a tough spot and had to deal with Fabrizio and the aftermath of his actions. That would be the toughest part of the new day ahead of us. The rest seemed like a piece of cake to me.
We arrived at the pack and I went looking for Blake. He was in the living room with my father-in-law and Fabrizio.
“I helped him get cleaned up. I didn’t want you and Elisa to see him covered in Teresa’s b***d again,” he mind-linked me and I rushed into his arms not caring what the others would think. I needed a hug. A hug from my loved one would give me the strength to support those who needed me the most.
“Thank you, Blake.” I rested my head on his broad chest and looked at Fabrizio. He was standing by the window holding a glass of whiskey, looking lost. He brought the glass to his mouth with trembling hands and spilled half of it on the floor.
Elisa left Massimo’s arms and took a few hesitant steps towards Fabrizio. He didn’t seem to notice her presence. Elisa took the glass from his hand and placed it on the table. She then turned to Fabrizio and hugged him, crying again. Fabrizio stood there like a statue, not responding to Elisa’s hug. She kept hugging him and Fabrizio slowly raised his hands and hugged her back, patting her on the back.
“Fabrizio, I am so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen today. I am to blame for everything,” she wept.
As if someone slapped him hard, Fabrizio looked at Elisa with a flustered face. He raised his trembling hand and caressed Elisa’s head.
“It’s not your fault, my child. Teresa was mentally unstable. She wanted to take revenge on Massimo and his family when she was to blame for everything. You were just stuck in the middle of the hurricane, giving her extra reasons for revenge. You did nothing wrong, Elisa.”
“Still, you protected me instead of her, Fabrizio. How can I ever forgive myself for causing you so much pain?”
Elisa cried, devastated. I walked to them and helped my friend to the sofa. She sat there sobbing and holding her swollen bump. Fabrizio seemed lost again.
“I was the one who made the choice, Elisa, not you. My daughter had become a cruel and crazy person. She would never regret her actions. And I, as her father, had to put an end to her craziness. I won’t deny that I hoped she would show remorse and ask for forgiveness. She didn’t and I would never sacrifice innocent lives for the sake of keeping my daughter alive in a prison cell for the rest of her life.” He cried like a baby. He was soon on his knees, his head touching the floor.
Both Elisa and I went to his side and placed our hands on his hunched shoulders, not knowing what else to do.
“I wish I could go to sleep and wake up having forgotten about this nightmare,” Fabrizio sobbed.
“Fabrizio, you will always have us by your side. You are more like a father to us than our boss. Elisa and I will never leave you alone,” I whispered, wiping my silent tears.
“How about we help you upstairs? I will warm you some milk. It will help you calm down,” I suggested and he raised his head and looked at me.
“Like you warmed milk for me when I first came to Italy, remember? You always told me that a warm cup of milk sends the nightmares away. And I had many nightmares back then.” Fabrizio tried to smile but failed.
A sudden pain in my heart made me turn my head to Blake. He clutched his chest while tears streamed down his face.
“I am sorry, Natalia,” he whispered and I smiled.
“Baby, could you and Massimo take Fabrizio to his room? I will go to the kitchen and bring the milk,” I told Blake.
Luna Alison arrived just before I headed to the kitchen. She followed me there and took a vial out of her pocket.
“If you want Fabrizio to forget his misery, this potion will help. It will put him to sleep and when he wakes up, he will think that he had an awful nightmare, Natalia. He will forget everything about Teresa, including when he found out she was alive. If he doesn’t take the potion Aiden’s wife made for him, he may not live that long. He could even commit suicide,” she told me and my hand holding the bottle of milk trembled.
“The thought has crossed my mind,” I whispered and revealed my worst fear to her.
“Who’s Aiden?” I asked and wondered how on earth that question had come from my mouth.
“My son, Dylan’s uncle. His mate Sienna is a half-witch and her mother helped her with the potion. It will work, I can assure you of that. You just have to decide if you will use it or not,” she explained.
“Use what?” Elisa showed up in the kitchen.
“A potion Luna Aria prepared for Fabrizio. She says it will make him forget about what happened today and when he found out his daughter was alive and scheming against us,” I blurted out and Elisa paled.
“Is that safe? Will it work?”
“We have no other option, Liz. What if Fabrizio tries to end his life? What will happen then?” I asked my friend and she looked at me, fear in her eyes.
“Are we doing it without telling Fabrizio?” my friend hesitated.
“Do you remember how many times Fabrizio did things to protect us without telling us? He made decisions for us without our knowledge,” I reminded Elisa.
“Let’s do it,” she agreed. Fabrizio had no one to care for him but us.
“Can I mix it into his milk?” I turned to Luna Alison, and she nodded, giving us the thumbs up.
“Yes. It’s not a normal drug. Milk won’t affect its effect.”
She gave me the vial and I poured the drops into the cup.
I left Luna Alison and Elisa in the kitchen and went upstairs to my beloved uncle’s room. I found him sitting in his bed, Massimo and Blake by his side. His eyes were closed and he cried silently.
“Zio, (uncle) I brought you the milk,” I went to him and sat on the bed.
“Natalia, I can’t drink it. Nothing will go down, he whispered, not taking the glass from me.
“Fabrizio, will you do it for me and my baby, your grandson or granddaughter? Please? It’s just a cup of milk. It will help you relax. I know it’s hard but please try for my sake, okay?”
I sat by his side and kissed his cheek tenderly. He opened his eyes and I tried my best to smile despite the fact that my heart had broken into thousands of tiny pieces seeing him in so much pain. My forever cheerful supporter was now a total wreck and that crushed me.
I supported him as he took the cup from my hand. He took small sips and stopped, trying to breathe. He continued until he finished the whole cup.
“You should lie down and close your eyes, uncle. I will stay with you until you fall asleep,” I coaxed him and he squeezed my hand.
“I never thought there would be a day you would put me to sleep like that, cara. I thought that was my privilege,” he whispered and followed my advice.
It took him a while, but he finally fell asleep. I signalled Blake and Massimo and we walked out of the room.
“Let’s go downstairs to your office Blake. I need to talk to you both,” I said and led the way.
When Elisa and Lina Alison saw us walking in that direction, they followed us. We entered the office and I told my mate and Massimo what Elisa and I did. What I did.
“Are you sure about this, Nat? Luna Alison, won’t this have any effect on Fabrizio?” Massimo asked, frowning. He was worried about Fabrizio’s health.
“No, Massimo. The potion will not endanger Fabrizio’s health. He will wake up in the morning and remember nothing of what happened regarding his daughter. I made sure of it. All you guys need to do is make up a story of how he flew to California with you, Massimo.”
“We can tell him that he came to help you replace Elisa, Massimo. That would be reason enough, trust me. Fabrizio would do such a thing without a doubt,” I said the first thing that came to mind and Elisa agreed with me.
“Blake, you should also tell your dad and Lucas to keep their mouths shut until Fabrizio goes back to Italy. And Drake. We should tell Drake and Elisabeth. By the way, has anyone seen Drake?”
I had just remembered that Drake and I entered the house together, but I didn’t see him after that.
I turned to my husband.
“Blake?”
