Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate -
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 80
Massimo
We left the living room to give Natalia and Blake some space. They needed to talk to Natalia’s father. I helped Elisa upstairs to her room. It was our first time alone in a room since I found Elisa in California.
I let all my feelings come to the surface. The fear and anticipation of something going wrong and Elisa being hurt led me to take her in my arms and hold her tight, inhaling the sweet scent of her skin.
“Baby I was so worried that something might happen to you and our baby. You can’t imagine how relieved I am right now,” I confessed, whispering, my hot breath touching her bare skin. Elisa wrapped her arms around my neck and rested her head on my chest.
“I feel tired, Massimo. The baby is restless and my whole body is aching,” she complained.
I picked her up, placed her on the bed, and lay beside her. It was the first time I touched her swollen bump and the baby kicked; I jumped in surprise. My eyes filled with tears of happiness. That little guy or princess would be in our lives in a few months and I couldn’t wait to hold my pup in my arms.
“Sleep, sweetheart. If anything happens I will wake you up,” I whispered, holding her in my arms. Soon, her steady breathing sounded in the silence. Elisa had fallen asleep.
I watched her sleep and admired her beauty. I thanked the Moon Goddess for keeping her and my baby safe, sending Luna Alison our way. We were able to keep the baby and avoid complications thanks to Luna Alison’s help.
Elisa stirred in her sleep and I remained still, trying not to wake her. She suddenly opened her eyes and startled me.
“We need to check on Fabrizio”, she told me worriedly and tried to sit up in bed.
“Elisa, wait, sweetie. Let me help you,” I offered.
“Fabrizio must be sleeping,” I informed her but Elisa was adamant.
“We need to go to his room. I have a feeling he is awake and confused,” she explained.
I could no longer refuse her. Taking her hand, we walked down the corridor and knocked on Fabrizio’s door.
He opened the door with messy hair and a bewildered expression. When he saw Elisa and me he smiled.
“Cara, you are here. You too Massimo. Where are we? I seem to have forgotten and I am not sure why.” He scratched his neck, embarrassed.
I immediately mind-linked Natalia and Blake. We would need their help if things got out of hand. Luna Alison told the girls she would make him forget but we forgot to ask what his reaction would be after he woke up.
“Fabbi, you and Massimo travelled all the way from Italy to help him replace me and persuade me to make up with him. How could you forget that?” Elisa pretended to be offended and Fabrizio smiled sheepishly.
“I don’t know, Elisa. It seems like I went to sleep and my memories were erased,” he said, shaking his head, trying to understand what happened.
Natalia entered the room, followed by Blake.
“You worked overtime before Massimo and you travelled here. Too much on your mind probably made you forget about coming to visit me, zio,” she said playfully and approached him. Fabrizio opened his arms and Natalia walked into his embrace.
“Hello, my child. I missed you so much. I lost track of time. I guess the flight was tiring and I still am jetlagged,” he teased.
The four of us exchanged looks and communicated with our eyes. Fabrizio thought he had just arrived at Blake’s pack.
“We should keep it that way. It’s for the best,” Blake suggested through the mind-link and we agreed.
“Well, that means you should rest some more, uncle. My father has arrived and he will be happy to see you. And I have good news for you. My sister has returned and we worked out the misunderstandings between us. So we will live together like the old times, with no hard feelings,” Natalia announced happily.
“That’s wonderful news, Natalia. You and Blake will have nothing holding you back now. Since you have patched things up with your siblings, you will have no more hard feelings. You will live a happy life with the family you created, cara. Now, where is that friend of mine? Where is Raymond?” he asked excitedly.
“He will be in the living room in a while, uncle. My sister is upstairs; she gave birth to her baby today. Let me take you downstairs,” Natalia offered, taking his arm and smiling at him.
They left the room chatting and the rest of us waited a while before following them.
“You must stay a few more days, Massimo. At least for a week. Fabrizio thinks you have just arrived and if you leave earlier than that, he might suspect something,” Blake said thoughtfully and I agreed with him. So did Elisa.
“I hate lying to him but it’s for his own good,” she whispered sadly.
“Elisa, don’t be upset sweetie. It would be much worse if he remembered everything,” I replied and she nodded.
Supporting her, we followed Blake downstairs. Everyone had gathered and Fabrizio chatted with Natalia’s dad, excited about seeing his old friend.
I felt guilty about the lie we told him but knew he would live a more peaceful life because of it. I intended for him to be involved in our lives and our family. The grandchildren he would never have from Teresa, he would have them from Elisa and me.
Elisa noticed me watching Fabrizio and she squeezed my hand.
“We will become his family,” she whispered and I smiled. That woman was definitely my other half. We thought alike and that would make our lives easier, unless she was stubborn about something. Then I would be in deep trouble.
A man barged into the room and called Blake.
“What is it, Timothy?” Blake asked
“Blake, where is Emma?” the other man asked and Blake left his seat and walked to him.
“Come with me,” he ordered and pulled him away.
I watched as Natalia followed them, wondering who Emma was.
Blake
I had been watching the interaction between Fabrizio and Natalia’s father with interest. They were indeed best friends, almost like brothers. They shared memories from university, making the rest of us laugh with their stories.
It almost felt natural laughing like that. I knew that everything was a pretence on Natalia, Massimo, Elisa and my parts. We played along so that the lies we had told would be believable for Fabrizio’s sake. My father, who knew what had happened, had an impersonal expression on his face, hiding his real thoughts.
Timothy’s arrival surprised me. When he asked me where Emma was, I pulled him away and we went to my office. The walls and door were soundproof.
Natalia entered after us and closed the door behind her.
“Blake, where is Emma? I haven’t seen her for days and all her belongings are still at her house. Nothing is missing. Has anything happened to her?” Timothy asked, looking at me suspiciously.
“What makes you think Blake knows Emma’s whereabouts, Tim?” Natalia asked coldly and Timothy blushed.
“Natalia,” he said, but Natalia stopped him.
“It’s Luna to you, Timothy. You are Blake’s friend, not mine,” she said aggressively. She knew how Tim favoured Emma and that pissed her off.
“I am sorry,” Timothy apologised.
“That doesn’t answer my question,” Natalia said sharply.
“I told her you left the pack with your friend after you quarrelled with Blake and she came looking for him. Since then, I haven’t seen her,” Timothy explained with his head lowered.
“How stupid are you, Timothy? You know she is in love with my husband and yet, you told her something she should not have known,” Natalia growled and Timothy shrugged.
“It slipped my tongue, Luna. It wasn’t intentional; please believe me,” Timothy was on the verge of crying. I crossed my arms, enjoying my wife bullying my best friend like that. He had it coming.
“Are you in love with her, Timothy?” Natalia asked all of a sudden and Timothy jumped in surprise, paling. I saw pity in Natalia’s eyes. She had figured it out so easily. And I had been blind for so long.
“Haven’t you found your mate?” she asked carefully.
“No. I don’t know where she might be,” Timothy whispered, not looking at my wife.
“Timothy, my husband told me that you are one of his best friends. What would you say if I told you that your beloved Emma was an accomplice to a devious plan to kidnap me and harm my friend and me?” Natalia asked Tim.
He raised his head and looked at her in surprise.
“What?” his voice came out as a whisper and his face paled.
“Your precious Emma is a snitch, a traitor who worked with Blake’s enemy to hurt me and my husband, Doctor Timothy. Blake locked her in the dungeons and she is now waiting for her punishment,” Natalia spat and Timothy was speechless.
“How could she do something like that? She was crazy about Blake,” my friend murmured, and before Natalia attacked him, I stepped in. My wife had a murderous look on her face.
“What Natalia said is true, Tim. Emma worked with Ace Jones who wanted to take me down and take over the Dark Moon pack, hurting Natalia and my child in the process to succeed in his goal. We must punish her for treason and her penalty should be death,” I announced in my Alpha tone and I watched my friend bow his head in submission.
“As a matter of fact, we should pay her a visit, Blake. And I suggest we do it now,” Natalia said, not looking at me. Her eyes were on Timothy.
“I suggest you join us, doctor, so you can witness what a b***h your friend Emma is,” my mate told my friend, gritting her teeth.
I knew Natalia was furious and I obliged her request. The three of us left my office and headed out. On our way to the exit, we ran into Drake. He was hesitant when he saw Timothy.
“We are going to see the snitch. Do you want to join us?” Natalia told him and my brother looked at me. Natalia was aggressive and Drake sought help.
“Let’s go, Drake. It’s time for you to show your face to the pack members. They will be seeing you more often now,” I tried to sound relaxed, but deep down I feared Natalia’s reaction when she met Emma. I didn’t want my wife or baby to be hurt in any way, nor did I want Natalia to be upset seeing that woman.
My brother followed us and he reached the prison. The guard bowed in respect and allowed us to enter. We reached Emma’s cell and found her sitting on the bench. When she saw me enter, she rushed to me but backed down as soon as Natalia followed me, growling menacingly.
“Step back, bit.ch. How dare you get so close to my man?” Natalia snapped and Emma trembled in fear.
“I wasn’t…”
“You snake, how dare you betray your Alpha and try to harm your Luna? How dare you?” Natalia was out of control. I could see that Leia was trying to take over but was unable to because of the pregnancy. She would harm our baby if she stepped forward and my wife’s wolf couldn’t jeopardise our pup’s life.
“I didn’t know what his true purpose was, I swear. He told me he was madly in love with you and wanted you back. He never told me his plans. I tried to explain that to Blake, but he wouldn’t listen,” Emma cried.
“Blake as you call him is your Alpha, my mate, and you should address him as such, mutt!” Natalia snarled and Emma curled her body inwards, frightened.
“Emma, how could you do something like that?” Timothy said, his face contorted with pain. He clenched his hands in fists and tears ran down his face.
“Timothy, please help me. I wasn’t aware of that man’s plans, honestly. Please do something,” she begged my friend, sobbing.
Suddenly she stood still, her face pale. She had her eyes glued somewhere behind me and I saw fear in them. I looked back, and my brother Drake stood there with a murderous expression on his face.
“What’s your surname?” he asked her with an icy voice.
Emma looked at him and didn’t reply.
“What’s your surname?” Drake growled angrily and she started crying.
“Jameson. Her surname is Jameson,” Timothy whispered.
“I Drake Hunter reject you Emma Jameson as my mate,” Drake spat and we all froze. Emma looked at him with fear in her eyes and kept silent. In a swift move, Drake had her pinned on the cell’s rails and growled.
“Reject me now, bi.tch, or I swear I will kill you!”
