Since Elisa announced her decision to turn into a werewolf, I was restless. My mate didn’t think it was a big deal but I thought otherwise. The fear of her miscarrying our child once I shifted into Onyx, overwhelmed my other feelings, making me uneasy and cranky.

Elisa had been busy learning about her Luna duties from my mother and I was engaged with my Alpha duties and the pending workload I found upon arrival. My father, who was helping me out, noticed my strange behaviour.

“Massimo, what’s bugging you, son? You seem uneasy,” he said.

I left the documents I was reading and looked at him.

“It’s Elisa, Dad. She has decided to turn into a werewolf and the full moon is in two days. What if she miscarries when she sees me turn into Onyx? Will she be able to take my bite? What if something goes wrong?” I asked exasperated, running my fingers through my hair.

My father smiled patting my shoulder.

“Why don’t you shift before the full moon, Massimo? I mean, allow Elisa to sleep with you in your wolf form for the next two nights. If you lay beside her like that, it will be easier for her to get used to Onyx’s presence. Onyx will make her feel at ease. Trust your wolf, son. He will help you deal with your fears,” my father advised calmly.

“Thank you, Dad. I never thought of that. You are right. If Elisa meets Onyx before the full moon, she might get closer to him and trust my wolf when the time comes. I will tell her after lunch when we are alone in our room. I don’t think she will object,” I said thoughtfully.

After my father’s advice, I felt more at ease. The only thing left was to tell Elisa. I spent the rest of the time working whereas my father spent time with Fabrizio. He would leave for Isola soon and the two friends wanted to catch up.

Alone in our room with Elisa, I helped her sit on the sofa and sat beside her, holding her in my arms. Elisa rested her head on my shoulder. She was sleepy.

“Baby, I need to talk to you,” I said but she cut me off.

“If it’s about asking me to change my mind, you can forget about it, Massimo. I don’t want to hear it,” she said aggressively.

“No, sweetie. I know I can’t change your mind. So, my father thought of something that might help,” I comforted her and Elisa sat straight looking at me.

“How would you feel meeting Onyx before the full moon?” I asked, carefully watching her expression.

“What do you mean Massimo?” she asked confused.

“My dad suggested that you should meet Onyx before the full moon. He suggested I should sleep with you in my wolf form for a few nights so you can feel at ease with Onyx’s presence when the time comes,” I informed her, my eyes not leaving hers.

Elisa seemed surprised although I anticipated seeing fear inside those beautiful warm almond-shaped chestnut eyes. It surprised me to see her eyes glowing with interest. My woman was full of surprises.

“Do you mean, you will shift into your wolf and become my pet, baby?” she asked blinking innocently but the corners of her lips betrayed her. She was having difficulty holding back her laughter.

“Do you replace that’s funny, Elisa?” I asked her, narrowing my eyes.

“If somebody told me that I would have a wolf as a pet for more than two days I would have said he’s crazy. But since you are the one telling me yes, I think it’s funny baby. Meeting with Onyx will be my pleasure, Massimo. I can play with your wolf until the full moon,” she giggled leaving me dumbfounded.

“How about you shift right now, babe? Why wait until tonight? I want to meet Onyx now,” Elisa said eagerly and I looked at her with wide eyes.

“Elisa, are you sure about that? Aren’t you afraid?” I requested scanning her face for hidden feelings. Was she trying to show me she was brave?

“For heaven’s sake Massimo. Are you shifting or not?” my mate asked impatiently.

“Do it, Massimo. I also want to meet Elisa sooner. Don’t be afraid. I will protect both her and our pup,” Onyx urged me.

“Okay but make it fast Onyx. We can’t afford to scare our mate. I don’t trust she is as strong as she wants us to believe,” I told my wolf and Onyx took the message.

We had practised instant shifting to take our enemies by surprise and that would come in handy today.

“Baby, keep your eyes on mine,” I kissed her softly as I stood up, taking my shirt off. I wanted to shift naked before her eyes. I stripped watching Elisa drool at the sight of my e******n and allowed Onyx to take over.

I kept my eyes on her as I kneeled on four and Elisa jumped at the sound of cracking and watched with her mouth open as my bones dislocated. My dark fur covered my skin and my eyes turned yellow and then red. My snout replaced my nose and now in front of my mate stood Onyx in all his glory. Elisa stood up watching Onyx in awe and stretched her hand to reach my wolf. My dark-furred enormous wolf took steps forward and approached Elisa, licking her stretched hand.

“Hello, Onyx. You are so big,” Elisa whispered and she giggled when Onyx licked her.

With her other hand, she caressed my wolf’s fur, her fingers stopping at his head, caressing the back of his ears. Onyx purred and nudged her with his snout, turning his head to where our bed was. Elisa understood and she walked there and lay on her side of the bed. With a jump Onyx, was by her side, his head resting on her swollen tummy.

Our pup started kicking at my wolf’s presence and Onyx placed his paw where the pup kicked. Elisa had been watching the whole procedure with her eyes wide open and a sweet smile on her face. She was indeed a pleasant surprise My mate was fearless. Luna Alison was right. She would make a perfect Luna.

“See? I told you that Elisa would be fine, Massimo. You overreacted before. Everything will be okay,” Onyx assured me and moved closer to Elisa.

She rested her body near my wolf and closed her eyes while her hand rested on his back. I watched as she fell asleep in no time, and I allowed Onyx to take a nap by her side.

Onyx woke up before Elisa and I shifted back to my human form. I supported my body on my elbow and for a while I watched my beauty sleeping peacefully.

I then entered the bathroom to shower and get ready for the afternoon stroll I had accustomed Elisa to.

I returned to the bedroom to replace Elisa awake and looking around.

“There you are she said smiling,” and I walked to her.

“Did you have a nice rest baby,” I asked kissing her forehead.

“Mm,” she replied, pulling me closer and kissing me.

“Thank you, Massimo. Onyx is amazing,” she whispered and I looked at her.

“Weren’t you the least afraid, honey?” I asked and Elisa shook her head.

“No. I had a sense of safety, Massimo. I slept like a baby with Onyx next to me. I could do that forever,” she replied and I felt jealous of my wolf.

“So, do you want Onyx to take my place?” I said grumpily and Elisa laughed.

“Don’t be such a baby, Massimo. I just said how I felt having Onyx by my side. I never said I wanted your wolf to replace you in bed. You are way too important to me,” she smiled brightly.

Elisa’s demeanour suddenly changed. She looked at me having a serious expression on her beautiful face.

“Thank you, Massimo. Onyx’s presence helped me a lot today. I won’t lie that despite being courageous, I was worried about facing your wolf for the first time. And I am happy you allowed him to shift and meet me before the full moon. I will come closer to your wolf and trust him when the time comes. Now I feel more confident about you marking me. And I can’t wait for that day to come. Will I get a wolf too?” she blinked at the realisation.

“Yes, baby, you will. Your wolf might surprise you,” I teased her. I knew that once my alpha b***d ran through her veins, Elisa’s wolf would not be normal. Her wolf would surely surprise Elisa.

“Shall we go for our afternoon stroll?” I changed the subject and my mate agreed.

I helped her up and we left the room.

I walked with Massimo around the pack and couldn’t stop thinking of how he shifted to Onyx. His wolf was a magnificent creature. If I didn’t know he was Massimo’s other half he would have scared the s**t out of me. But with Onyx it was different. I could feel the intimacy between us without him doing something special. I lay on the bed waiting for him to come to me and it surprised me how carefully he neared me. When he approached my bump, I felt uneasy for only a second. After that, it felt so natural to have him by my side. And I couldn’t wait for the evening to come. I didn’t want to tell Massimo because he was already feeling jealous of his wolf.

When the night came, I watched as Maximo shifted to Onyx again. It seemed more natural to me than the first time. I lay beside Massimo’s enormous wolf, my back facing his furred belly. Onyx’s breath on my bare skin was like a lullaby to me. I closed my eyes and slept like a baby.

The following morning Massimo’s naked figure lay beside me. I touched his long eyelashes and placed a k**s where my fingers touched. Massimo opened his eyes and smiled at me.

“Good morning beautiful,” he said in his hoarse voice and his e******n poked my lower abdomen.

“I am hungry,” I whispered when he gave me a smug smile.

“I need food, not s*x,” I pouted and Massimo laughed.

“Let’s fill the empty holes in your stomach then. The other hole can wait,” he teased and I blushed. God, he was such a s*x maniac.

I was busy for the rest of the day listening to Massimo’s mother and taking notes about my future workload. I didn’t have time to take my afternoon nap. By the time dinner was served, I was tired and needed to sleep.

We returned to our bedroom and Massimo helped me bathe and lie on the bed. He then shifted to Onyx and came to me. It was our last night sleeping together before the full moon. Onyx curled his body and lay by my feet, his hot breath teasing my toes.

“You are the best doggie I could ever have, Onyx,” I teased him and a low growl escaped his throat. He then purred and closed his eyes and so did I. I was now ready to accept his bite.

We woke up the following morning pretending it was a normal day. I was sure Massimo realised how uneasy I was feeling. He didn’t leave my side the whole day, treading me with extra care.

“Elisa, I need to talk to you,” he told me and took me to his office.

“Baby, I haven’t told you before but we must do the ritual in an open space where the full moon will appear.,” Massimo told me holding my hand.

“And?” I asked knowing that there was more to it.

“The pack members will watch the ritual and accept you as one of ours. That’s what my father told me this morning. He asked one of our elder’s advice because it is the first time that something like this is happening in our pack. Will you be okay with it? I don’t want you to feel upset or uncomfortable in front of everyone. I am worried about you, Lisa. Do you want to reconsider?” Massimo said worriedly.

His statement shocked me. I thought we would perform the ritual inside our room without one watching. Knowing that the whole pack would be present made me feel uncomfortable.

I shifted on my right foot and cleared my throat. Taking a deep breath, I replied.

“If that’s what it takes for you to bite me, let’s do it.”

Massimo stared at me with admiration. He held my hands. They were sweaty. Giving me a bright smile, he wiped my hands with a tissue.

“That’s my girl,” he whispered hoarsely and I knew he was erected.

“Massimo, what are you doing?” I kept my voice low, afraid someone would hear us.

“Thanking you, baby,” he said, his lips sucking my soft skin.

“We can’t. Not here,” I said breathlessly and pushed him back.

“I need to rest. I must be strong for tonight,” I told him seriously and Massimo nodded.

“You can’t escape forever baby. This might be your last time,” he warned me, his voice lustful. He then helped me to our room and left me there to rest. He returned to his office to continue working. He didn’t want to stay with me knowing that he could not resist his urges.

Time was so slow after my nap. I kept looking at the clock waiting for midnight to come. Massimo’s mother gave me a long, white sleeveless dress to wear. I braided my hair and I was ready.

We went downstairs for dinner and I noticed that the atmosphere was different. Everyone was looking at me with respect knowing what would follow. After dinner, Massimo and I left for the lake. The others would follow later.

“Baby, I want you to keep your eyes on me. Do not look at anyone else, Elisa. Trust me everything will be okay,” Massimo comforted me.

“It’s best if I shift to Onyx now so you can spend some time with him. It will be much easier afterwards,” he told me., helping me to sit on the grass.

“Yes please,” I whispered and Massimo immediately shifted to Onyx, tearing his clothes into tiny pieces. In amazement, I watched him change into his wolf, admiring his sturdy figure even in a wolf form.

Onyx came to me and lay his snout on my lap. I caressed his furry head; he licked my free hand.

That was how the others found us when they arrived.

Massimo’s father stepped forward. He looked up and I followed his move. The full moon in all its glory was brightening the dark sky.

“It’s time, Massimo,” he said and Onyx looked at me meaningfully. He wanted me to trust him. I nodded smiling and he left his place, coming to my left side. He sat on his paws and revealed his canines.

“I am ready for your doggie bite Onyx,” I tried to tease him, but my voice trembled.

Onyx stared at me and I knew what to do. When his canines grazed my soft skin, I placed my arms around his neck, holding his thick fur and closed my eyes.

I felt a piercing pain and my b***d boiling inside my veins. I held tighter on Onyx while listening to everyone around me howling and the moment I felt Onyx releasing me, I opened my eyes, smiled, and fainted.
