PRESENT

Arabella felt super fresh when she woke up early in the morning, and surprisingly, not a single boogie man came near her to scare her in the form of a nightmare, and she would give credit to her knight in trousers and t-shirt.

She wasn’t sure if she could call him her knight or not, but until now, he hadn’t tried to misbehave with her, even though she was at his mercy.

A small smile appeared on her lips when she recalled his beast’s words, ‘I will never intentionally hurt you.’ She didn’t want to believe him after what he did to her, but something about him and his voice was forcing her to consider his words.

Immediately the door of the washroom opened, and Wylder walked out, wiping his face with the towel. He disappeared in the closet, only to return in just a boxer. She didn’t want to check him out but couldn’t control herself when he was showing off his assets on his own. So she silently observed him from the corner of her eye.

“Take a picture.”

“I don’t have a phone.” She said, cutting him in between. She clearly remembered that he had said the same thing yesterday, so why not shut his mouth?

“Is that a way to get a new phone, Ugly Duckling?” Wylder asked, raising his brow. A ghost of a smile appeared on his face when he had caught her checking him out, on which he decided to tease her, only to receive such an amazing answer in return that shut his mouth. He liked her “don’t mess with me’ attitude.

“Even if it is, are you going to buy me a new phone?” She inquired instead of answering him right away. To be honest, she had no idea what she would do with the phone.

She had no one whom she could call, or maybe if she did, she didn’t remember anyone’s number. She shook her head and decided to get new contact numbers if she had forgotten the previous ones.

“Nah! I don’t entertain people who are dependent on others to buy something.” Wylder spoke, thinking about Tiara. Gifting her something was a different thing, but never once was she dependent on others to get the things that she wanted.

Arabella fumed in anger, thinking it was a taunt. “What do you mean to say? That I’m a gold digger?”

“I never said that.” He pointed it out.

“But you indirectly said the same thing. But let me tell you that I’m not interested in your money or your title. And talking about the phone Now, I will buy the phone with my own money.”

“Sure!! I would like to see all the talents you have, Omega.” With that, Wylder started leaving the room. As he was getting late.

“Where are you going? That too this early?” She asked, looking from top to bottom.

“Training.”

“Wait for me! I’m joining too.” Arabella quickly left the bed and ran inside the washroom to freshen up as soon as possible. She had rested for the whole day yesterday. She didn’t want to do that again. Too much rest and sleep were boring.

While she sat on the toilet seat, she recalled her own words, ‘I will buy a phone with my own money.’

She slammed her palm on her forehead because she knew she ended up speaking too much. But she would prove that she could do this. She would show him that she had some talent.

When she came out, Wylder wasn’t there for her. She knew she wouldn’t feel sad, but she still did. She had told him that she was coming too.

“Jerk, Alpha.” She muttered under her breath.

“Was that special word for me?” Wylder asked. She quickly turned around and saw Wylder waiting for her by sitting on the sofa instead of standing near the door. Her cheeks turned red, realizing that he had heard that. He was here, waiting for her, and she called him “jerk instead of sweet.

In the next second, the night dress that she was wearing turned into a tracksuit. Arabella couldn’t name it, but she felt this incident was deja vu.

“Comfortable?” he asked.

“I don’t like wearing full-length clothes, but then I don’t want everyone to stare at my marks.” She muttered instead of replying to him with yes or no. “Let’s go. I’m sure you’re getting late.” She added, to which Wylder stood up on his feet to walk out. It irked her that he was just in boxing and everyone was going to watch him like this. Instead of walking behind him, she walked side by side with Wylder when he spoke.

“You’re an omega here. So, care to walk behind me?”

“Actually, I don’t care.” She said, shrugging her shoulders. “I don’t serve anyone. I’m a queen who is born to rule.” The words came out of her mouth all of a sudden. She couldn’t understand since she started thinking of herself as queen. She looked at Wylder, expecting him to mock her or tease her. But it looked like his body had been frozen and he was looking at her as if something were going on in his mind.

By then they were on the training ground already.

“Where did you hear that line?” He asked coldly.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was speaking.” She replied, thinking he was offended—after all, she called herself a queen in front of an alpha. “And the answer to your question is the same. I don’t remember where I heard this. Is it a famous line or dialogue?” She asked and received only silence in return. Wylder’s chest tightened, and he felt the same familiar feeling that he used to feel with Tiara.

‘Relax, don’t overthink it. Just keep observing, and our main focus will be to bring her wolf out. Only she can tell us the truth.’ Night said when Wylder couldn’t make any decisions.

‘Yeah! That’s true, but I was thinking of inviting her here in the pack. You know, she was trying to contact us for a while, but we… I mean, I turned that part down.’ Wylder suggested. Night had been waiting for this moment since he learned from Eden and Arya that Tiara was looking for him and wanted to talk to him.

He wanted his human to think about it, but he didn’t. Because Wylder knew that the moment his eyes would land on her, he would instantly melt like water. A woman who had been frozen since he last saw her. He would return to where he had started.

And now that he was considering inviting Tiara to the pack, Night was not able to decide exactly what he should do.

‘No, let’s focus on our future heir.’ Night muttered. ‘We’re not on Mars. If she had really wanted to reach us, she would have done so without wasting a second. Hell, he could have asked all the males in his family to kidnap us, but NOPE.’ He added in a disappointing tone.

They both knew what kind of person Tiara was.

What she wanted, she got either by hook or crook.

‘Yeah! I thought the same.’ Wylder mumbled and mind-linked Breda. Once he was done, he turned around only to replace Arabella standing at the distance of one hand from him and observing him.
