PRESENT

Her body was full of scars, but her confidence was still worth admiring. She didn’t look nervous or self-conscious even for a second. Raising both of her hands in the air, she jumped into the pool and started swimming.

The way she kept looking in the direction of his office told him that she did this to add fuel to his anger, and it was working.

If not for the tinted glass on his office window, she would have seen his expression, but she did not think that he would be standing behind those windows silently, watching her like a predator

‘What do you she is doing?’ Night asked his human when he saw her resting both her hands at the corner of the swimming pool, throwing her head back, and maybe… maybe planning to sleep.

‘She is upset that she didn’t get the result that she wanted to get.’ Wylder responded to him in an amusing tone. He was sure that he wouldn’t do anything that she wanted until they sensed someone else around the pool area.

Did Gamma not tell everyone not to come there?

He found Gavin, the head chef, with whom Arabella was when they reached the kitchen the other day. Maybe his link was closed then.

But Night didn’t care. All he saw was red. It looked like the pack members would have to eat tasteless food.

“Good morning, Bella.”

“Morning, Gavin. Come on, join me. I can swim better than cook food.” She joked and winked at him playfully, turning him all red. “Are you blushing?” She laughed at his flushed face. She tried to divert her mind from the disappointment that hit her like lightning—that Wylder didn’t give a damn where she was or with whom.

“Noooo. No!! Anyways, let me see whether you can really swim or… ” His voice died in his mouth when they heard a loud growl.

‘LEAVE’ Gavin heard the order and was smart to leave quickly, while Arabella didn’t turn her head towards him and played with the water.

“Are you going to ignore me now?” Wylder growled as she turned her head towards him, acting surprised.

“Alpha Miller… I’m sorry. I didn’t sense you. As you see, I don’t have a wolf.” She spoke innocently. She tried hard to act innocent in front of him, but a part of her knew that he knew the reality.

The way his grey eyes had turned dark and the weather around her had turned stormy, she knew she was playing with the wind.

She watched him look at her from top to bottom. She knew how ugly she looked, but for some reason, the fact that he was staring at her was making her nervous and self-conscious.

Till a moment before, she was proud of her scars because they were a sign that she survived, but all of her confidence disappeared as Gavin’s did.

“You’re testing my patience; you know that, don’t you?” He muttered, running his eyes all over her body.

“Am I?” Arabella asked softly and saw him staring right into her eyes with so much passion, love, and desire that she didn’t waste a second looking away.

She realized that no one had looked at her in such a way for a long time, as far as she could remember. And if she would be quietly honest with herself, then she was scared that she would fall in love with this Alpha, who already has a mate.

“I’m sure you’re done with your swimming. Now, back to our room.” He said, on which Arabella turned her head towards him only to glare at him.

“OUR room?” She scoffed. “You’re getting late for the training, Alpha. Don’t waste your time on me because I’m not going anywhere until I want to.”

“Araaa!” Wylder warned her.

Arabella ignored him, and leaving the side of the pool, she started swimming.

“Come outside, Ara!”

“Nope!!” She replied adamantly.

“Araa… “

“Don’t waste your time.” “No means no.”

She thought that he would leave and wouldn’t bother her.

But in the next second, she realized how wrong she was when Wylder jumped in the pool to drag her out.

“Alpha, stay back. You can’t boss me around just because this is your pack.” She said, drifting back when he dangerously swam towards her. “I will shout for help, and…” She warned him and squealed when he grabbed her arm.

“Shout.” He said it in a low tone, daring her to do it. Both of them knew that no one would go against their alpha. Pulling her close to him, he started swimming out the edge of the pool while she kept quiet like a good girl even though she wasn’t.

“Room, now,” he ordered, throwing her kaftan at her once they were out.

“No!! I will swim… .”She didn’t even get a chance to complete her words, and the next thing that she knew was that she was thrown onto his shoulder.

“Alpha, put me down!” She yelled, hitting his back. “Alpha… Alpha…. put me down!” She yelled, hitting his back. She kept shouting, but he ignored her. She tried to wiggle in his grip only to get a tight slap at her buttock, making her eyes widen in shock.

At last, she gave up because she didn’t want everyone’s attention on them. She had already planned to do whatever she wanted to do.

Wylder kicked the door of the room after unlocking it. He put her down, and the moment he did, she started leaving again like a little naughty kid who didn’t want to hear her parents. But he wrapped his hand around her waist, stopping her from leaving.

“Don’t touch me without my permission.” She yelled, wiggling against his naked chest, trying to fight against him. She twisted her legs with his to make him fall, and they ended up falling on the bed together. Wylder grabbed both her hands with one hand and tangled her under his body. He enjoyed hearing her heart pounding loudly against her ribcage.

“But you want me to touch you, don’t you?” He whispered.

“That’s not true.” She retorted.

“I can smell lies and many other things. I don’t want to embarrass you by telling you all this. All I just want to know is the reason why you are behaving this way.” Wylder asked calmly. He really wanted to fix the thing because of why she was behaving like that. He remembered that last night everything was fine between them while having dinner.

Then why was she so upset?

He watched her part her lips to speak, but she shook her head. She couldn’t understand how any man could be this decent.

‘He might have smelt my desire but didn’t mention it.’ She talked with herself.

“Ara..” He caressed her cheek with his other hand.

“Don’t touch me.” She yelled in anger.

“Okay. I won’t. But please tell me what is troubling you.”

“I don’t want to talk about that.”
