Mr. Poker Face’s Sweetheart By Lee Dubois -
Chapter 63
Chapter 63
The receptionist answered without much thought, “She’s the colleague who came with Mr. Blake from Domino Media. Not the one from last time. She’s wearing a green dress and looks as beautiful as a magazine model!”
Leo said in a deep voice, “You might be getting a raise soon.”
“What?” She was overjoyed. “Why?”
“No need to ask.”
After hanging up the phone, Leo didn’t waste a second and hurried to his boss‘ office, knocking on the door and entering without waiting for permission.
Hymes was on an international call when the office door was suddenly pushed open. His eyes instantly became sharp, and he shot a cold glare at Leo.
Leo stiffened and quickly lowered his voice, “Boss, there’s big trouble. Your wife is here!”
Hymes‘ expression changed dramatically, from cold and indifferent to astonished. He immediately hung up the phone and stood up. “What did you say?”
“The receptionist reported that your wife came with Mickey today to discuss cooperation!”
The thought of Giselle coming with Mickey…
Hymes clenched his fists and asked through gritted teeth, “Just the two of them?”
“Yes, just the two of them.”
Damn it… Hymes cursed in his heart. He should have taken care of Mickey sooner!
Leo scratched his head. “Boss, isn’t the priority now that your wife is here? Should you change your plan to teach Mickey a
lesson?”
Hymes remained silent.
He had gotten a bit carried away, focusing on his jealousy and overlooking the important matter at hand.
He cleared his throat, and his voice was cold. “Inform the Investment Department to temporarily change their plans and not need to follow the original proposal.”
“Understood. So, about this cooperation…”
Hymes‘ eyes flickered. His gaze was deep and unfathomable.
It was the first Hine that Giselle had reached Pino Capital.
Before, she only knew that Pino Capital was a giant in the investment world.
Those who caught their eye would generally receive generous investments and then reap unexpected profits.
Domino Media was now determined to cling to this giant, and from Kevin to Mickey, they had almost exhausted all their
efforts.
Now they had barely managed to secure a formal meeting with Pino Capital.
But no one could predict the outcome.

Chapter 63
Upon entering the towering building, they could see a high–ceiling atrium that spanned several hundred feet, filled with a sense of modern technology.
After going upstairs, they followed the guidance to the Investment Department’s conference room, where one of the managers greeted them.
“Mr. Woods, it’s an honor to finally meet you in person!”
Mickey quickly stood up, and his face was full of flattery.
Hassan, however, remained indifferent, only showing a brief look of admiration when he saw Giselle.
“Mr. Blake, let’s cut to the chase and get started.
“Mr. Woods, you’ve seen our specific proposal… You know what we’re asking for. Do you think there’s a possibility of further discussion?”
Hassan countered, “Whether we continue the discussion depends on what we can gain from it.”
Mickey smiled and replied. “Domino Media has a successful business model and a strong ability to monetize commercially. So, if Pino Capital is willing to invest in us…”

Mickey started to talk about their advantages non–stop. When it came to work, Mickey’s capabilities were passable.
Hassan didn’t seem to be paying much attention.
Giselle raised an eyebrow slightly, already noticing that Hassan’s mind kept wandering.
Hassan hadn’t been listening carefully to Mickey’s explanation.
So perhaps Hassan’s sincerity wasn’t that strong?
The desire to cooperate with Pino Capital didn’t seem too intense.
It looked like today might be a wasted trip…
Mickey, almost out of breath, finally stopped talking. “Mr. Woods, what do you think?”
Hassan nonchalantly said, “I didn’t catch everything you just said, so say it again.”
Mickey felt annoyed but didn’t dare show it, so he immediately repeated his speech, continuing to explain the various advantages of Domino Media.
After finishing, Mickey asked with great concern, “Do you think it’s feasible? If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and we can keep discussing…”
Hassan, with legs crossed, said, “Mr. Blake, to be honest, your company isn’t very large, and the market opportunity has already passed. Most of the capital has already been invested. If we invest in you now, I think…“.
“Mr. Woods!” Mickey hurriedly interrupted Hassan, afraid of being rejected outright. “Although the market opportunity has passed, it’s still ongoing, and the next one might come soon…”
“Mr. Blake, pardon my frankness, but all I heard from you were empty promises. Even if I submitted this investment proposal to my superiors, it wouldn’t pass.”
This was a clear rejection.
Mickey tried to hide his disappointment. “But… you said it was feasible when we talked before?”
Hassan scoffed, “That was then, this is now. Investment trends change in an instant. Nothing stays the same.”
“Mr. Woods… perhaps we don’t have particularly significant advantages, but our steady growth is an advantage. You’ve seen our financial reports…”
Mickey quickly glanced at Giselle. “And our vice president of the talent management division can explain our Internet celebrity management model in detail. This is also a highly replicable advantage!”
Giselle was about to speak when Hassan waved his hand. “My time is almost up. Let’s end it here.”
At this point, Giselle began to understand.
Did Hassan have some personal grudge against Mickey?
Today’s meeting seemed like a setup to make Mickey look bad, with no intention of discussing cooperation from the start.
Mickey was tricked.
And Hassan wanted Mickey to feel both hope and despair…
Yet Mickey was desperate to collaborate with Pino Capital, and even if he sensed something was off, he didn’t dare show anger, even appearing somewhat submissive.
Although Giselle disliked Mickey, she felt that this kind of manipulation was a bit excessive, especially since she didn’t know if it was directed at Mickey or Domino Media.
So Giselle coldly suggested, “Since Mr. Woods doesn’t plan to cooperate, we should leave.”
Mickey disagreed with Giselle’s approach and was about to scold her when Hassan looked at his phone, his expression changing slightly, and suddenly changed his attitude. “Miss, I’d like to hear what you have to say.”
Both Giselle and Mickey were surprised. Though Giselle was unhappy, she was willing to give it a try since the opportunity had presented itself.
She confidently discussed her area of expertise.
Beside her, Mickey’s face displayed a pained expression.
