Chapter 1602 Married to Someone Else

"I know," Sally replied.

Gideon had been making excuses for Sally the entire way.

He thought she hadn't come because she hadn't known about his car accident.

It didn't matter to him if she was with another man. That wasn't the first time it had happened, after all...

However, upon hearing Sally's curt response, Gideon found that the pile of excuses he made for her and his belief crumbled to dust, no longer standing.

"Here, let me introduce you to each other." Sally smiled and then looked at Elijah. "Elijah, this is Gideon Hale."

She then toned down her smile a bit and turned to Gideon. "Mr. Hale, this is Elijah Patterson, my husband."

All color drained from Gideon's face in an instant. His breathing grew heavier. Clearly, he was angry.

"Sally, I'll give you one chance. Come here," Gideon demanded, "Let's go back to our country to get married. I won't bring up anything that happened before."

"Mr. Hale, I'm sorry," Elijah spoke in a lukewarm tone, "Sally and I have already completed our marriage registration. We are a legally married couple now. You missed your chance to marry her, and there won't be another one."

"Damn it!" Gideon swore out loud. Immediately, he strode toward them.

"Gideon, what are you doing?" Sally instinctively wanted to protect Elijah.

"You're protecting him?" Gideon pointed at Elijah. "Sally, do you even know what you're doing?"

"Gideon, I know better than ever what I'm doing!" Sally glared at Gideon. "When I left that day, I made myself very clear to you. I won't turn back this time."

Gideon looked at her determined expression.

Deep down, he was panicking. "Sally, I know... I know I was immature in the past and caused you a lot of grievances. I won't be like that anymore. Can you give me another chance?" Elijah lowered his gaze and looked at Sally.

He also wanted to know how Sally felt about Gideon now.

Sally gazed into Gideon's eyes.

If he had deferred to her even once in the past decade, she wouldn't have left with such conviction.

"Gideon, I've grasped my own future," Sally was calm and spoke to Gideon without menace, "I believe you'll replace yours soon, too. We really are not suited for each other!"

"If we're not suitable for each other, how can you fit well with a man you've known for only a short while?" Gideon pointed at Elijah.

"But we are." Sally nodded without hesitation.

At that moment, it seemed as if Gideon's heart had stopped.

"Go back. Don't make your parents worry about you," Sally finished talking and patted Elijah's hand. "Let's go home!"

The phrase felt like a heavy blow, landing squarely on Gideon's heart.

In his mind, memories of Sally looking at him with a smile and fetching him home flooded his mind in a flurry of images.

"Did she now have a home with someone else now? What about me? No, this can't be. It can't be possible! Sally could only belong to me!" He thought.

"Sally, come back with me. Let's sit down and talk it out properly if there's any misunderstanding!" Gideon grabbed Sally's hand, ready to pull her away without hesitation. Before Sally could react, another pair of slender hands grabbed Gideon's wrist, and then Sally heard the sound of bones cracking.

The hand that Gideon grabbed her wrist with suddenly went limp.
