Chapter 1696 We Were Just Playing

After listening, Sally immediately slapped her thigh and said, "I knew it! I always said he would make a big mistake. You have no idea how nasty he has been since he was a child. He would suddenly push someone into the water and hold their head down! I've even seen him stab someone with a switchblade!"

Elijah felt a peculiar sensation hearing this.

"Wait, who did he push into the water and hold down?" He asked.

Sally paused briefly, then answered helplessly, "Me..."

In fact, beyond this, when they were kids, her brother would unexpectedly appear out of nowhere and kick Sally or knock her down.

When she cried, he was happy.

Elijah's grip on the steering wheel tightened.

Seeing this, Sally comforted him, "Elijah, today is a good day to visit your mentor. Don't let this scum ruin our mood. Be good."

Elijah glanced at Sally and then softly acknowledged her words. Sally, with a playful smile, unbuckled her seatbelt, leaned closer to Elijah, gently caressed his cheek, and gave him a kiss. "Alright, let's get ready and set off!" She said.

Seeing Sally so spirited, Elijah felt even more heartbroken.

After all these years, how much pain had she endured, and how had she managed to heal herself...

Elijah started the car, his half-lowered eyes hiding a chilling glare.

There was plenty of evidence about the misdeeds of Noah. When he was arrested, faced with the enormous bail, Sylas decided not to bail him out.

Life in prison was not good for him.

There was a convict in the prison who targeted him relentlessly, immersing him in water barrels repeatedly, only letting him up when he was about to drown.

This torture continued for six months until he was transferred to another prison.

He was elated, thinking he wouldn't have to endure this suffering any longer.

But one evening, after being dunked in a barrel again, that convict came to him, teasingly remarking, "Did you think you'd be free from me just by leaving here?"

Noah was trembling with fear, not daring to speak.

The opponent was so massive that he could easily kill him with a single punch. How could he dare to resist?

"Let me be honest with you," The felon said calmly, "there will be someone just like me waiting for you in the other prison."

Taken aback, Noah asked, "Why? I don't even know you! Why are you doing this to me?"

The convict sneered, "My son had a severe heart condition, and we didn't have the money for a good doctor. Before you were imprisoned, someone approached me, offering to treat my son for free. All I had to do was to take good care of you. Haha..."

"Who was it?" Noah's voice wavered, but as he asked, he already had a suspect in mind.

Who else but the Patterson family could use medical treatment as a bargaining chip?

He recalled that, at the time of his arrest, Sylas had warned that Elijah wouldn't let him go easily.

"It's said that you once treated the wife of a powerful man this way when she was just a little girl," The convict continued with disdain.

He might have blood on his hands, but in his eyes, those were despicable men who deserved it.

He loathed those who bullied women and children.

"That was my sister! We were just playing," Noah protested in agitation.
