Not His Type Of Mate
Chapter 108

Lord Maddison's POV

Ava teleported us to an empty field and took a deep breath while closing her eyes. I observed her as she moved around the field, mumbling incantations to herself before finally looking up at us.

"He is here in France, but he wasn't at this field," she said, making me worried and frustrated. "So what do we do?" I asked, feeling restless.

Every minute that passes is a risk for Nora.

"I have to walk around the cities and towns, hoping I can sense his energy," she suggested and I groaned in frustration.

"This is ridiculous and not helpful. What if we keep moving around and you don't sense his energy before it's too late?" I asked, but she didn't reply. Instead, she looked in Leo's direction. "I believe I will tap into his energy very soon, Alpha," she said, and Leo nodded.

"Then let's do it," Leo said. I took a deep breath, trying to control my emotions from exploding.

"I just need one person to accompany me. The rest of you can stay here..."

"I'll go with you," I said. She stared at me for a moment before nodding and looking toward Leo. "I promise to bring good results," she told Leo, who nodded gratefully.

We both left Leo and the others behind and set out to search for Lorenzo's energy.

As Ava and I walked through the cities and towns of France, I couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency and frustration. Nora's safety was at stake, and every passing minute without replaceing Lorenzo posed a risk we couldn't afford.

Ava seemed determined, her eyes scanning the surroundings as she mumbled incantations under her breath. I watched her closely, hoping that she would soon tap into Lorenzo's energy and lead us to him. However, as time passed, my impatience grew, and I voiced my concerns to Ava.

"This is ridiculous and not helping," I said, my frustration evident. "What if we keep moving around, and you don't sense his energy before it's too late?"

Ava didn't immediately respond to my question. Instead, she looked around for a while and then turned to face me, her arms folded across her chest.

"You seem like a very impatient person, Lord Madison," she said, provoking my fury. "You don't seem to understand the importance of Nora to me. She is my mate and the love of my life, and right now, I don't know what has become of us. The thought of what will happen to her if I don't replace her scares the shit out of me. So now, tell me, why wouldn't I run out of patience?" I yelled angrily, running my fingers through my hair with a groan.

"I understand your concern for Nora, Lord Maddison," Ava replied, her voice calm but tinged with sadness. "But please remember that I am just as worried and desperate to replace her as you are. So please don't pour your anger at me because it's not helping." Her words made me realize that I hadn't been treating her right. She was here, trying to help us, and I should be thankful for that.

"I apologize, Ava," I said, my tone softer now. "You're right. I let my fears get the best of me, and I should have been more understanding. We're in this together, and I trust your abilities. Let's keep searching."

Ava nodded, a mixture of relief and determination in her eyes. "Thank you, Lord Madison. I appreciate your understanding. Let's focus on replaceing Lorenzo and bringing Nora back," she said and returned to the task.

We walked into different places, like bars, coffee shops, and others, but she couldn't tap into his energy, which got me more worried as I constantly checked the time and realized we've been moving around for the three five hours. "What are we going to do?" I asked, worried and scared.

"We will keep searching..." she paused and looked at the superstore right across the road. "Let's go in, there is something pulling me toward that store," she said, and we both crossed the road and entered the superstore.

The moment we stepped our feet in, I saw her close her eyes for a moment and sniff deeply before turning to hold my gaze. "He was here, Lord Maddison," she said, her voice filled with a sense of urgency. "I could sense his energy. He teleported from this very location," she said, and before I could say a word, she teleported away.

As I stood there in the superstore, waiting for Ava to return, a mix of anxiety and restlessness filled my mind. The possibility of replaceing Lorenzo, and ultimately Nora, gave me a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos and uncertainty. I tried to keep my emotions in check, reminding myself to stay focused and composed.

"She will be found," my wolf tried assuring me.

Minutes felt like hours as I anxiously awaited Ava's return. Thoughts raced through my mind, questioning what could be happening and whether she would be successful in tracking down Lorenzo. I couldn't help but pace back and forth, my mind consumed with worry.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Ava reappeared before me. Her face held a mixture of emotions, but the one that stood out vividly was fear.

"Did you replace them? Did you replace Nora?" I asked. Ava paused for a moment, seemingly trying to gather her thoughts.

"What is it?" I asked worriedly, and this time she finally spoke. "I know where they are," she said, and I took a deep breath.

"Where?" I asked and saw her gulp. "She is imprisoned in the camp of the Rogues," she announced, making me take a step backward in shock. "The camp of the Rogues?" I asked, and she nodded. "They have more than a thousand trained soldiers there," she explained, and I took a deep breath and said, "Let's inform the others."

She nodded and teleported us back to the field where I met Alpha Leo and the others. "Was it successful?" Maxwell asked, and Ava nodded.

"Where is she then? Let's move," Maxwell said in a hurry.

"It won't be an easy task because she's in the camp of the Rogues," she said, and everyone remained silent until Maxwell spoke again.

"That won't be a problem. Alpha Leo will take care of them..." he tried speaking, but I cut him off. "If Leo uses his flame abilities, it will announce our presence, and Lorenzo will teleport her away," I said and tiredly massaged my forehead, thinking of what to do, but nothing meaningful was coming into my thoughts.

I watched as Leo had been silently taking a drag of his cigarette. He hadn't said a word since we came back with the information, but he seemed oddly quiet.

I observed him take a deep breath and walk over to Ava. "How many men could you count?" he asked.

"About a thousand of them, but there could be more," she replied. Leo nodded and took a long drag of his cigarette before turning to hold my gaze. "I have a plan," he announced, dropping the cigarette on the ground and crushing it with his foot.
