Chapter 44 Ares POV

As we slowly approached the pack and the meeting spot, my eyes began to roam over all in attendance. Scanning over pack members my eyes slowly move to land on my father's who silently nods as Eros and I along with our mate approach. Clearing my voice the pack turns to acknowledge us. Including Lily. "Good Evening everyone. I'm sure you're all wondering why I've summoned you this evening. Well for that I have someone of importance here with us tonight" I start, my eyes glancing to my mate as she moves to stand next to Eros, her eyes locking with mine in question. Giving her a soft smile I move to look back at my pack. As everyone within the pack whispers, I let out a soft growl to pull everyone's focus back to me. "You see, it's been brought to my attention that many, many of you seem to think that it's okay to say or think poorly of our mate and Luna" I announce, many of the pack Shocked that someone would do that.

Listening to them whisper, my eyes move to focus on Lily and her small group of friends. Her face is neutral as if not caring as she looks briefly at Athena. Something within her eyes shifted right before vanishing from sight.

'I don't like her' whispers Zeus.

Neither do I

pal. It's like she's totally a different persona compared to the girl we once knew" I admit to him, not liking Lily's new behavior towards her new Luna. We best be careful with her. Who knows what she'll do next' replies Zeus, his attention now focused on those around us.

"Agreed' and with that I too return my attention back to the pack. "While some of you might think that our mate is a coward, I can assure you that she is not. Our mate, your Luna is alot stronger than you might think and while her past might be troubling she'll do nothing but great things for us and our pack" I finish, my eyes still on Lily.

Frowning, Lily continues to keep her focus on Athena, my eyes still lingering on her before turning my focus to that of my mate. Offering her my hand in which she takes, I gently pull her to my side, Eros moving to join us.

"And while some of you might disagree on the matter, should you have a problent with her or us,

you

shall address those to either Ares or I or too that of our father and current Alpha of this pack. Should the concern be addressed outside of us, that person in question will be punished" explains

am I getting this strange feeling that the one in question is Lily?' wonders Athena to her wolf as she continued to look at her new pack in silence.

'Because it is. She's messed with us multiple times and our mates won't stand for that' answers Artemis angrily.

Knowing that Artemis was tight, Athena doesn't move to say anything further, her eyes looking to her pack. Every pack member watching her silently, making her a tad uneasy.

Rolling her eyes, does Lily move to leave the pack meeting, no longer interested in hearing about her new Luna. Her focus needed to be elsewhere as she had promised to meet someone in about an hour and she had planned to keep it.

Narrowing my eyes, I can't help but watch Lily leave, Zeus growling. Something not sitting well with us. Feeling the urge to follow, my eyes move to that of Kai's. Nodding his head he silently moves to follow her, hoping to learn more about her motives.

About an hour or so later, we moved to finish up with the pack meeting. Many if not all of the pack apologizing to our mate and their Luna in which she humbly accepted. Showing everyone just how well she could adapt as her Luna side appeared. Smiling, everyone welcomes her to the pack.

"Thank you" whispers Athena, smiling to another pack member as they approach her.

"Of course my Luna," "smiles another.

Smiling once more, Athena continues to talk and mingle with other members of the pack until her eyes eventually move to that of Maya, her friend.

"MAYA" cries Athena, quickly excusing herself from the pack before rushing over to her friend.

Glancing at Eros, we both smile. Letting our mate have this moment to catch up with her friend as our father and mother move to approach us, catching our attention.

"I have sent word over to the Lycan King, but who knows when he'll be able to respond to the email. The King is a very busy man" explains Alarick to his sons.

"We know father, but thank you for helping" I say, sighing at the news. At least it's a step in the right direction, I muse.

"Of course, son. It's the least I can do to help replace her family as those she did have never truly

wanted her to start with" admits Alarick sadly.

"It's

sad to know that her aunt and uncle have behaved so poorly towards her. And to think that her cousins were a part of it as well" explains Gwen sadly, her heart hurting for our mate.

"I know mom. But Eros and I plan to do everything in our power to make sure that pack pays for what they've done to her. Because if they think what they've done was okay they have another thing coming" I explain, my anger simmering at the mention of her old pack. "Just don't get carried away, please" pleads Alarick not wanting his sons to go overboard or worse start a war between packs.

"We won't father, promise" replies Eros, hoping to assure his father that they wouldn't go too far.

"You better not" comes Alarick's only reply, his eyes stern as he looks to his sons. Shifting his gaze, he moves to look at his mate. "Come love, let us retire for the night and let our sons handle things from here". "Wonderful idea my love" smiling Gwen moves to leave with her husband.

Watching our parents leave along with most of the pack do Eros and I move to approach Athena and Maya. Maya practically glowing since replaceing her mate among the pack. once again.

Oh Maya!

! I'm so happy for you" beams Athena, happy for her friend as she moves to hug her

"Thank you. I almost gave up hope until Grant appeared" smiles Maya, Grant moving to approach his mate, both clearly marked and mated as well.

Giving Maya another smile, we can't help but feel excited for the both of them until Athena moves to sniff at her surroundings. Something catching her attention as she did. "Maya... Are you wearing a new perfume?" asks Athena, her eyes moving towards Maya once.

"No" answers Maya. "Why do you

ask?"

"It's just... You smell different" answers Athena, almost like it just occurred to her.

"Different? Like how?" I question, Grant, clearly curious as well.

"Yes, different.. Like her scent changed slightly," sniffing again, Athena finally detects it. A smile. is forming once again. "OMG! Maya! Your pregnant exclaims Athena happily. Chapter 44

"What? For real?" asks Grant, surprised by the news.

"Yes,

that's why her scent was off. You're both expecting a child" explains Athena, her happiness for Maya overflowing.

Grinning, Eros and I move to congratulate the pair, waiting for the day our mate would bare our pups. "That's wonderful news Grant. Congratulations" replies Eros with a smile on his face. "Thank you, my Alpha's" replies Grant holding his mate now close to him.

"Well, we'll leave you both to celebrate and rest. We'll have to catch up soon okay" smiles Athena.

"Okay"

smiles Maya.

With that said, we all move to separate, each heading off in different directions. My focus now returning to Kai who had yet to report back as he had secretly followed after Lily. Chapter Comments
