Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 5

Lexi's POV

The third day of school and I was already tired. I dreaded having to repeat the same routine again. Classes. Classes. Lunch. Classes. Listen to girls fantasize and drool all over Mason. More classes. It was getting so annoying and exhausting. I didn't have any friends to talk to and when I finally decided to speak to someone, all they ever talked about was Mason, Mason, Mason. My ears were beginning to hurt due to hearing his fans scream out his name all day. I wanted to pull my hair out of frustration but I won't ruin my perfect hair-do because of him. "Ahhhhhh," I screamed loudly into the pillow. I screamed again and again. My voice was muffled so I was very sure no one would be able to hear me. I got startled when I heard a sudden knock on the door.

"Lexi, are you ready?" Mum asked. The doorknob rattled as she tried to unlock it. I hurriedly stood up and fixed my hair. I applied some lip gloss and smiled widely at the mirror before walking over to open the door. "Why do you look so happy? Did something good happen?" Mum asked curiously. I maintained the smile.

"No, I'm just excited to go to school this morning," I replied. She stared at me skeptically as she chuckled. "Okay?" she said. I nodded and kept on smiling.

"Stop it already. Your jaw will hurt and you also look creepy," she muttered. I snapped my mouth shut.

"Did anything unusual happen in school? I've been meaning to ask but I never found the chance," she said. My heart skipped a beat. She wouldn't have found out about my mate right? "Something unusual? Nothing happened. It's just the same high school boring stuff," I replied.

"Are you sure?" she inquired. I nodded with a smile.

"Completely sure. I'm just really excited to be going to school," I lied. She held my hand with a smile of her own.

"We are happy if you are happy dear," she said. The bus honked loudly signaling its arrival. Mum sighed.

"Why does it have to be so loud?" she asked.

"Probably to inform me that I should be by the bus stop now. I need to leave now. Bye," I said hurriedly, picking up my backpack and running out. She walked out after me.

"Slowly Lexi, you might hurt yourself," she called out.

"I will miss the bus if I slow down," I replied.

"Bye dear and don't forget to..."

"Have fun. Got it," I completed her sentence and ran out closing the door behind me. She never forgot to tell me that when I leave for school every single day. But unfortunately, I was far from having any fun.

"Please wait, sir!" I called out at the top of my voice. Since I started school, I've always almost missed the school bus. It stopped and I hurriedly got in. Another day of being miserably alone. I thought as the bus took off and I plugged in my headphones. The bus soon arrived at school and we all got out. I headed straight to my locker to drop my bag and take out the books I will be needing. I walked into class and took a seat. I was the only one present. The class was completely empty. I started to read through some books till the bell dinged.

Students started to troop in and the once empty classroom became full. I caught sight of Mason entering and our eyes met. I eyed him in disdain before looking away. The teacher came in after him and started the lesson for the day when a group of girls suddenly walked in. Out of them all, one caught my attention and she was in front. She had long curly golden hair, deep ocean-blue eyes, she had full eyebrows, and really long eyelashes. She was tall but curvy with a heart-shaped face.

"Miss Martinez, you and your friends are late," the teacher said with a frown. Her friends ignored him and walked to their seats.

"I'm sorry, the traffic was hectic today which was why we came in a little late," she replied with a smile.

"Have your seat and come in early next time," he said. She nodded and walked to her seat with a smile. He continued the lesson till the bell rang. People began to walk out while some stayed behind. Mason also walked out. Those that stayed behind headed toward the golden-haired girl's desk. I stared at them as I picked up my books. Some boys in our class gave her flowers while the girls took pictures with her.

I also walked out and headed to the cafeteria. I was in such a rush this morning that I forgot to have breakfast. Heading towards the cafeteria, I met with the girl again. I saw her standing in front of the waste bin with the flowers. Was she about to throw them out? I wouldn't be surprised, I already knew the kind of person she was before this. Being late to class and pardoned, popular, I could tell she came from a wealthy home from her clothes and was also pretty. A typical queen bee. Stuck up, rude, and thinks the world revolves around her. She turned around and my gaze met with her deep blue ones.

She walked towards me with a smile. Flashing pearly white teeth she said, "Hi."

"Hi?" I replied skeptically wondering why she was speaking to me. I couldn't help but notice how bright and warm her smile was.

"You are new to our school, right? I've never met you before," she said.

"I am new. Is there any problem?" I inquired. She shook her head.

"Welcome to Crescent high school. Consider these my welcome gifts," she replied, placing the flowers in my hands.

"Why are you giving me your flowers when it isn't a gift from you? I saw when these were given to you," I said. She smiled again.

"You are right. I didn't get them for you. Sorry about that. After receiving them, I realized they had some flowers that I was allergic to. It would be a waste to throw them away, so I thought who better to give than a new student as a welcome gift," she explained. I was taken aback by her words for a while.

"Thank you," I muttered.

"Thank you for accepting them. See you around," she waved at me before walking away. That was totally unexpected. She wasn't like anything I had thought she was. I smiled as I glanced at the flowers. She was the first person that had truly made me feel welcome since I started school. I headed into the cafeteria and started to place food in my tray. I struggled to hold the tray and also the bouquet of flowers in my hands as I walked towards a table.

While walking towards the table, I bumped into someone. I heard the person yelp. I hurriedly placed the flower on the floor so I could see the person's face.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was..," I trailed off when I noticed it was the girl again.

"Flower girl?" I called out. She glanced up at me.

"New girl," she said in surprise. Her shirt was stained with the food from her tray. The whole content was spilled on the floor.

"We meet again but under unintentional circumstances. I'm so sorry about this," I apologized, bending down to help her clean up. "It's fine," she said.

"How is this fine? Your clothes are a mess because of me," I replied worriedly.

"Well, you only bumped into me because you couldn't see properly due to the flowers I gave you. So it's my fault," she responded.

"How is that your fault? It was nice of you to give me flowers. I was the one who didn't hold them properly," I said. She chuckled.

"Okay new girl, we are going to keep going back and forth about this and never stop. It's really fine. I can change later," she said. I nodded. "That's really kind of you..." I paused, realizing I don't know her name.

"Madison Martinez but my friends call me Mady," she said, standing up with a smile.

"Mady, I'm Lexi Jones," I replied. She stared at me intently.

"Is that your way of telling me you want to be friends?" she asked. I was startled by her straightforwardness.

"Yes...what? I meant no..,"

"Relax, I was only joking. I like you Lexi and you know what the good thing is?" she asked, linking her arm with mine.

"No, what is it?" I asked curiously.

"My wolf likes you too. I have a feeling we are going to get along really well," she said. I smiled.

"I think so too."

"Come on, let's eat. I'm starving," she said, grabbing my tray while I took the flowers. We walked towards an empty table and took a seat. We ate, talked, and laughed for the rest of the lunch period. I guess I won't be having a miserable lonely day after all.
