Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 19

Lexi's POV

I stared at my own score twice as shocked. 30%? How was that even possible? I was sure I got half of the answers correct. My score meant I didn't even pass average. I had failed woefully. I struggled my way out of the crowd dejectedly. If only I had studied harder last night. "Lexi Jones?" someone asked. I turned around to see a boy staring at me skeptically.

I nodded. "That's me."

"The principal wants you in her office now," he said. My eyes widened in surprise.

"Me? Why? Why would she want me in her office?" I asked hurriedly.

He shrugged. "I have no idea. I was only told to deliver this message to you," he replied before running towards his group of friends who were beckoning him to hurry up. I slowly walked to the principal office wondering why I was being summoned. It wasn't an everyday occurrence which was the reason why my mind was already making up different scenarios that were going to play out. Did she perhaps replace out that I lied about being home-schooled? If it was, then I was in serious trouble.

I gently knocked on the door and waited till I heard a positive response. After that, I stepped in.

"Good afternoon ma'am," I greeted politely. She nodded.

"Have a seat," she said pointing towards a chair in front of her. I sat down nervously fiddling with my fingers.

"I'm sure you already know why I called you here?" she asked.

I shook my head vehemently. "Not at all."

"Really? I thought it was quite obvious. You are here because there's a serious problem," she replied.

"S..serious problem? What is it about?" I stuttered.

"It's about your grades. I'm sure you saw them," she said. I sighed inwardly in relief.

"That's a relief. You gave me such a fright. I thought it was about something else," I muttered.

"A relief? Is your test results a relief?" she asked in disbelief.

"Of course, it's not. I didn't mean it like that. I meant to say it's a relief that...," I trailed, I had no idea what to say so as not to sound suspicious.

"Anyway, I'm so sorry about the results. I'm not used to the grading system in this school yet," I apologized.

"This school's grading system is quite high. You might not be used to all these grades and tests because you were schooled at home but you were at the very bottom of your class. You couldn't even get up to average. These tests were just conducted to replace out your weaknesses in any subject. It won't be recorded. If this continues, you are going to pull your class down along with you. I'm sure you know we always award classes of the year. Your class has won the award unfailingly every year but I'm afraid they wouldn't be able to this year because of you," she explained.

"I'm so sorry. I couldn't study hard yesterday but I promise on the next assessments, I will do my best. I won't pull my class down," I replied.

"How can I trust you on that? As I said, you are not familiar with the grading system. You need someone to teach you these things and also be your tutor for the rest of the school year. I already have everything sorted out. You don't have to worry about anything," she assured me.

"A personal tutor?" I asked. She nodded. I furrowed my brows. I never thought about anything like that but it wouldn't be such a bad idea. It would be an easier way to learn faster. The door suddenly opened.

"He's here, without knocking again," she said. I turned around and it was...Mason?.

"Why did you send it to me?" he asked as he took a seat next to mine.

"You will be Lexi's tutor for the rest of the school year. I already discussed the details with her," she informed him.

"Hell no!" I refused loudly.

"Language Lexi," the principal warned.

"I'm so sorry but I don't want him as my personal tutor," I responded firmly. What sort of a sick joke is this? Mason? Tutoring me? What a joke.

"Why not? He's the best student in this school. You are lucky I assigned him to you. Other students will do anything to get this opportunity that I'm giving to you on a platter of gold," she replied.

"Well, assign him to those students that want him and assign someone else to me. I definitely don't want him as my tutor," I said.

"I don't have time to waste in re-assigning students. Is there a reason you don't want him to tutor you? I might reconsider if it's valid," she responded. This should be easy.

"I don't want him because....because..," I trailed again. I realized I didn't have any tangible reason to say to her. "Because I just don't want him to. Please reconsider," I pleaded. "Mason, do you have anything to say regarding this?" she asked him. He shook his head.

"It's final then. He's your tutor. I suggest you make good use of this opportunity. You have no other choice here. This isn't a school to get bad grades. If you fail more than this, you will get kicked out," she warned. "Can I leave?" he asked.

"Of course and good job on the tests. You made our school proud again," she said with a smile. Mason stood up and left much to my dismay. Why wasn't he saying anything? If he had supported me and we both refused, the principal would have had no other choice. "You can leave now Lexi. I have nothing left to say," she said.

"But...,"

"I'm not entertaining this topic any further. This is a school. If you have any personal resentment towards him then sort it out yourselves. Leave," she ordered. I stood up angrily and left her office. This was all Mason's fault.

"Which direction did Mason go?" I asked a girl I came across in the hallway. She would know since they always watched his every move.

"He went towards the rooftop..."

I didn't allow her to finish her statement before storming towards the rooftop. It was a bit windy and the wind ruffled my hair. I scanned the rooftop till my eyes landed on him.

"What the hell was that for?" I asked furiously as soon as I reached where he was.

"What was what for?" he inquired without turning around.

"Don't play dumb with me. Why didn't you refuse her? To torment me and get back at me? You could have told her you didn't want to tutor me and she would have listened..."

"Why would I say that? If you hate it that much then don't come for the tutoring. You can tell her you came but you won't actually come. It's as simple as that," he replied nonchalantly, still gazing at the view. His reaction was adding to my fury. "I need the lessons!" I yelled at him.

He turned around. "Then come for them. I came here to relax but if you won't let me do that, then stay here instead."

"What the hell is wrong with you? Didn't you hear me when I said I never wanted to be near you? Why wasn't Mady just assigned to me?" I asked.

"Mady wasn't assigned to you. I was. If you hate that so much and you don't want to be near me then don't come for the lessons, if you need them, then come for them. It's as simple as that, you can't have it both ways," he said and started to walk away. I scoffed in disbelief. Who did he think he was to walk out on me while I was still talking? I turned around and picked up a stick I had seen on the floor when I was coming in.

"I wasn't done talking!" I yelled, throwing the stick furiously at his back. He stopped abruptly as soon as the stick hit his back and walked back toward me angrily. I've never seen him so angry before. I absent-mindedly backed up against the wall.

"What the f**k is your problem?" he growled at me. His anger made me so scared that I yelped as I knelt on the floor and shielded my face. I trembled repeatedly and my throat constricted as I waited for the pain of the impact. I knelt there for a while, my mind blank and numb.

"What are you doing?" he asked. I slowly removed my hands from my face to see him bending to my level in front of me. If I was delusional I would think he was concerned but I'm not. My hands were still trembling. He looked surprised as he tried to hold my hand. "Don't touch me," I spat at him with a glare.

"I won't," he replied, backing away from me quickly.

"You thought I was going to hit you?" he asked in a serious tone.
