Madison's

POV

"W.. what?" I stuttered, getting surprised.

content.

"Aren't you going to pick up your call? Your phone's been ringing for a while," Mason repeated, making everyone stop talking and look toward me. I gulped, averting my gaze from theirs. If I kept doing this, it would make them more suspicious. "What's wrong sister? You never run out of words," Vivian jested. I grabbed my glass, gulping down the "I didn't run out of words. Something got stuck in my throat and I couldn't speak," I lied without blinki "Really? It didn't seem like that," she mumbled, deep in thought. Damn Vivian, her observatory skills a "How would you know that? You are not in my throat. I'm the only one who can know," I responded wit "Pick up the phone then," she insisted.

"The person stopped calling," I answered, but immediately I stopped speaking. My phone rang again. "He's calling now," she said, gesturing toward my phone.

"A he?" Mum asked in surprise.

ed to know everything happening. ile.

"Don't listen to her. It's not a he. It's Lexi, my friend from school. Mason knows her. She even came here earber, but we weren't around else you would have met her. She has something important to say, which must be why she's calling me," I hurriedly explained, emphasizing all the 'she's'

"Okay, chill," Vivian muttered.

"What?" I asked Mason, who kept staring at me. He averted his gaze from mine, back to his food. "Excuse me. I will be right back," I said to them, grabbing my phone and heading upstairs. I immediate behind. I yelped, but he was quick to cover my mouth.

ed the door to my room firmly to avoid any intruders. I switched on my phone to call him back when I suddenly felt someone engulf me in a hug from

nd I stopped struggling.

"Don't scream. It's me," he whispered into my ear, his breath tickling me. My harsh breathing calmed d "I'm going to let you go now. Promise you won't scream," he whispered again. I nodded slowly. He gently uncovered my mouth and let me go. "What the hell are you doing here by this time? How did you even get in?" I asked in surprise.

"I ruffle your hair. I'm sorry," he said gently, running his hand through my hair.

"Answer me," I said firmly.

"I got in through the window," he replied.

"Through the window?" I inquired, glancing at the window. He hummed in response.

"How on earth did you climb that high? What if you had fallen?" I asked worriedly.

"I called you severally but you wouldn't pick up, which is why I had no other choice but to come in through the window," he explained. I swatted his hand from my hair and took a step away from him. "Why are you here? I thought you were avoiding me," I said.

"Avoid you? I couldn't even if I tried," he muttered.

"Well, your actions made me think otherwise. After the party, you never glanced at me even once at school. You didn't talk to me, you didn't want us to talk about what happened. You made me feel used and stupid..." "Never say that. You are not stupid and I definitely didn't use you. I watched you throughout the entire week, but I couldn't come close to you because I felt guilty. I'm sorry if I made you feel some type of way," he apologized. "Why are you guilty?" I asked in confusion.

"I shouldn't have done what I did. You were drunk and as the mature one between the both of us..."

"Excuse me? Are you saying I'm not mature?" I asked with furrowed brows.

"You know that wasn't what I meant. I mean I'm older than you, so..."

"Oh, please! You are only older by six months," I said irately, walking towards the wall.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is it shouldn't have happened and I'm sorry. I brought this as a peace treaty. Let's go back to how we were before that night," he pleaded, handing a box to me. "What's that?" I inquired with a frown.

"It's a gift," he smiled like that would make everything okay.

I scoffed in disbelief. "You think a f*****g gift will make me happy? I can buy hundreds of those if I want to. I don't need your gifts."

"Right. The gift was probably a bad idea. I shouldn't have tried to buy you over with a gift. I'm sorry," he apologized again.

"Why do you keep apologizing? You already said you regretted the kiss. I got the message. f*****g leave already," I said angrily.

"I never said I regretted the kiss," he answered.

"You did..."

"I never did. All I said was I shouldn't have allowed it to happen," he responded, cutting me off.

"What difference is there? It still means the same thing," I remarked.

"There's a difference. They are two totally different things," he said.

"So you mean you don't regret it?" I asked.

"No, of course not. I would regret nothing like that," he replied, walking towards me. "Why would you say something like that?" he whispered, stopping in front of me.

I pressed my back tightly into the wall. I wanted to be as far away from him as possible. That way, I could think properly.

"It was your fault. You ignored me and made me think in that direction..." he cut me off by placing his hand on my cheek. I stared into his eyes.

"I would have never done that if I knew it would make you feel bad. You shouldn't look at me like that. Your eyes are my weakness," he said seriously.

"Why?" I asked.

"It feels like you are staring right into my soul," he whispered, brushing his thumb against my cheeks.

"Did you go to the office?" I asked, finally noticing his suit and tie. I didn't pay any attention to it before.

"Yes, I had a meeting, but I canceled it and came here instead. I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate," he muttered.

I gulped. "Why?"

"Do you still need to ask?" he replied.

"But won't you get into trouble for canceling a meeting?" I asked worriedly. I knew how much his family wanted to take the company from him.

"I don't care. I own my company and I can do whatever I want with it. Besides, it's worth it now that I've seen you," he replied with a smile. I nodded.

"Can I hold you for a moment?" he asked, removing his hand from my cheek. I nodded again. He gently pulled me into a hug with a contented sigh. We stayed that way for a while as I reveled in his warmth with my eyes closed. He placed his head on the crook of my neck, his breath tickling me. I held onto his shirt tightly in my fists, not wanting to make any sound, but he seemed to have noticed that. Suddenly, something wet and hot poked my neck. I jerked, my eyes flying open in surprise.

"You smell so good," he mumbled, as his tongue continued to lick and suck my neck. I held onto his shirt tighter, snapping my eyes shut in ecstasy. I bit on my lips to stop any sound from coming out. Because this was pleasurable, I didn't want the entire household to hear my voice. I would be in so much trouble.

He groaned, holding onto my waist, pressing me harder to his chest. He sucked faster, and I let out a low gasp. I held onto his shoulder tightly for support. He suddenly stopped and I couldn't feel him close to me anymore.

"I came to apologize, but I ended up losing control again. I shouldn't have. I apologize," his voice made me snap out of my haze.

"Please don't open your eyes else I will lose it again," he pleaded. I listened to him and just stood there with my eyes closed.

"Mady? Why is it taking you forever to finish a call with your friend?" Vivian's voice and loud bangs on the door made me snap my eyes open in shock. I glanced around, but he was gone. The window was open. I walked towards it and looked outside, but he was nowhere in sight. I closed the window with a sigh.

"Mady? Can't you hear me?" Vivian yelled.

"Coming," I yelled back. I fixed my appearance in the mirror, hiding the red marks on my neck. I sprayed some deodorant to hide his scent before making my way toward the door. I know my family and they could sniff out any scent, even from a mile away. "Do you want to break down my door?" I asked as soon as I stepped out.

"Do you blame me? You were taking too long to answer," she replied as we walked downstairs.

"Sorry for the delay. It took longer than expected. Where were we?" I asked with a smile as I took my seat.
