Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 36

Lexi's POV

"What the hell was that about?" I yelled angrily at Darcey immediately I shifted back in the bathroom. We were lucky there weren't many people on the school premises just yet. No one was allowed to walk in the school hallway in their wolf form. After what Darcey just did, she ran away and forgot to stop where we normally changed. Sneaking in was our last option.

"I'm sorry. It got out of hand. I didn't know when.."

"For f**k's sake Darcey! You should have controlled yourself better. Why did you get all emotional in front of him? How am I supposed to face him now?" I asked furiously. I was seething with anger.

"It wasn't my fault and you know it. It was the mate bond, I could not resist it. You know none of this is Mason's fault. He might not be as bad as we think. Why not just give him a chance..."

"Did I hear you correctly? What chance? Haven't you learned your lesson?" I asked in disbelief.

"Lexi, listen to me. I know what I'm talking about. I can feel it..."

"Oh please," I cut her off irately. "I'm so upset with you Darcey. After everything we've talked about."

"I'm merely telling you the truth," she growled.

"Well, keep your truth to yourself," I retorted.

"You know that's impossible. It's not like you can ignore me forever," she declared.

"Watch me," I responded. My phone suddenly rang and it was Mum. She was calling to check up on me again.

"Hi, mum. Before you say anything, I'm absolutely fine. There's nothing wrong with me," I assured her.

"Are you sure dear? Your father and I are so worried. You kept crying in your sleep last night. If there's something wrong, you know you can always tell us," she said worriedly. I sighed. I couldn't sleep a wink last night after that nightmare which was why I decided to run to school so early today. Unfortunately, they heard my cries from their room and they've been worried ever since.

"I'm fine, mum. It was nothing, I promise," I said.

"It didn't sound like nothing but if you insist. We understand. Have fun at school and take care of yourself," she muttered.

"I will. Focus on work and don't worry about me," I responded before hanging up. I fixed my hair on the mirror and walked out. Someone suddenly hugged me from behind.

"Good morning Lexi," she said chirpily. I didn't wait to listen to her voice. Out of instinct, I pushed her away as fast and as hard as I could. Mady yelped as she hit the floor with a thud. My eyes widened when I realized who she was and what I had done. "Oh my! Are you okay Mady? I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to," I apologized trying to help her up.

"It's fine. I was the one who startled you," she replied, dusting herself up.

"How can this be fine? I pushed you yet you won't say anything. You always do this. Aren't you supposed to yell at me and tell me how bad a friend I am?" I asked wondering how she was made. She was just too nice and innocent. It's making me feel like I don't deserve her friendship. Like my presence alone taints her and diminishes her radiant light.

"Why would I call you a bad friend because you pushed me by mistake?" she asked in confusion.

"I don't know. Because I am," I replied.

"See? Even though you don't know the reason," she replied with a smile.

"Why are you smiling?" I asked narrowing my eyes at her.

"Because you look so cute right now," she chuckled. "You are not a bad friend and you never will be. You pushed me by mistake and you apologized. I told you it's fine. You don't need to be so worried."

"Are you sure?" I asked skeptically. She nodded. I sighed in relief.

"But, you also said something weird on the phone yesterday. Are you still worried about Vivian or is there something else going on?" she asked.

"What else could be going on? I was just worried about Vivian. How is she doing now? I was so scared," I replied.

"She's fine now. We were all scared. It's been a long time since she last had an allergy," Mady explained.

"I was more scared. One minute she was arguing with me and the next, she was on the floor unmoving. But you never told me you had another sibling apart from Mason. Are there still more? I don't want to get surprised like that again," I muttered. She laughed. "No, they aren't. It's just me, Mason, and Vivian. I'm sorry it skipped my mind. It just never came up in any of our conversations. Although, I do have one cousin. Sean, he's about Vivian's age. You will meet him at the party."

"Party? What party?" I asked in confusion. I didn't know of any party but I hoped it wasn't one that involved alcohol, loud music, and teenagers grinding their bodies together on the dancefloor or making out. The last time I attended a party like that, it didn't turn out well.

"Silly me. I forgot to mention it, that was what brought me to you not that I didn't miss you, want to hang out with you or anything but this was just part of the reason I came," she rambled, bringing out a little card from her bag. "This is an invitation to my parent's mating ceremony's anniversary," she said, stretching it towards me with a wide smile.

"Y..you are inviting me to your parent's party? The Alpha and Luna's party?" I stuttered in disbelief.

"Absolutely. What kind of a friend would I be if I didn't? Besides, these are the perks that come with being the Alpha's daughter's friend," she winked at me.

"Thank you. I will make sure to be there," I responded gratefully.

"You have to. I will be really upset if you don't come. It's tomorrow evening," she said.

"That soon?" I gasped.

"The cards came in a little late. I wanted to give it to you yesterday but due to what happened to Vivian, I completely forgot. Sorry," she apologized with a pout.

"It's okay. I will be there regardless," I assured her. I need to call my mum and inform her about this as soon as possible. I knew replaceing me the right dress wouldn't be a problem for her. She had always waited for this day to come.

"We should head to class before I'm forced to answer any more questions," I shuddered at the thought of what I had to endure in front of the whole class the other day.

"Sorry about that again," she apologized.

"It wasn't your fault. By the way, I've been meaning to ask. How are you and Mason so good at school? Do you read all the time?" I asked curiously. I've thought hard about how they had such perfect brains. Maybe if I could follow their reading routine and know some of their secrets, I could improve better and faster.

"I read once in a while. I'm too lazy to read all the time but Mason never reads at all. I've never seen him preparing for a test," she replied. My eyes widened as huge as saucers.

"He never studies? How does he have a perfect score each time?" I asked.

"I don't know either. It's so unfair right?" she complained. I nodded in agreement. Was that even possible?

"I will see you after school. During lunch break, I need to go somewhere," she informed me before we entered the class. I nodded in response. I have to spend the rest of the day avoiding Mason. If I see him after what Darcey did, I might just die of embarrassment. I spent the rest of the day avoiding him like a plague but I never thought of the most important thing.

I would be meeting him immediately after school for our tutoring sessions. How could I have forgotten about that? I guess I could not avoid him forever but if he brings up what happened earlier, I will deny it till the end. With that thought in mind and some newfound confidence, I headed towards the pack house. When I got there, the doors were wide open so I just stepped into the living room. I kept glancing back so I would know if he was behind me. Their car wasn't on the driveway yet. He couldn't possibly be home. "Watch where you are going," someone said just as I tripped on my own feet and fell forward. Luckily, Instead of falling on the floor, I fell on the person. Only that it turned out to be Mason. I recalled Mady's words about how he never studied but still ended up getting a perfect score. Was he perhaps not from our world? I stared at his perfectly sculptured face and gray eyes that seemed to be drawing me in. How could he be a genius and handsome at the same time? Wasn't the moon goddess being unfair?
