Emma's POV

It was my day off and I came to the school with the purpose of taking care of all the finances regarding the trip. The triplets were away for work which meant I had to take care of everything on my own. I met the principal and soon enough, I was done with everything that I had to do. I stopped by the bathroom and I was in one of the stalls when I heard the sound of someone's shaky breaths coming from the next stall.

"I..I'm fine," the person stuttered. I recognized her voice. It was Mady's friend and the girl Mason was tutoring.

"Lexi?" I called out in surprise. I got out when I was done and waited for her outside. Water made a gurgling sound as she flushed the toilet before unlocking it and stepping out.

"Good afternoon Luna," she greeted politely. That title, I could never get used to it no matter how many times it was used to address me.

"Good afternoon dear. How are you?" I asked with a smile. Her eyes looked a bit puffy. Has she been crying?.

"I'm fine Luna," she replied.

"Are you sure?" I asked skeptically.

She nodded. "I am. Congratulations on your anniversary. I didn't get the time to congratulate you yesterday.

I smiled. "Thank you. The party was kind of crazy yesterday."

"It was," she said.

"You must be surprised to see me here," I stated. I knew it was unusual because I rarely came to my kids' school unless it was very important. Which this trip was. Not only Mady but the rest of the students will make a fuss if something goes wrong. "To be honest, I was shocked. I've never seen you here before. Are you here to see Mady and Mason?" she inquired.

"Oh no. I see enough of them at home. I came for something else," I replied. She nodded in response.

"Give me a tour around the school," I said. I knew something was bothering her and she didn't want to talk about it. Taking a walk might help her out.

"Why will you need a tour? You attended this school," she replied in surprise.

"You knew about that?" I asked with a smile.

She nodded. "Even though I'm not from this pack, Mady told me you came to this school with the Alphas. Everyone knows you were high school sweethearts," she said with a smile.

"High school sweetheart huh?" I mumbled. "You must be really close with Mady for her to tell you about us."

"I am. Mady is the first and only friend I have had since I came to this school. She's a very sweet girl. I'm happy and thankful I have her as my friend," she replied with a bright smile. The most sincere smile I've seen since I saw her. "How about Mason? Isn't he your friend too? Aren't you glad you met him?" I asked curiously. She furrowed her brows.

"I'm not that close with Mason. I only speak with him sometimes because he's Mady's twin brother and also my tutor," she replied honestly.

"Oh really?" I muttered. That was strange. I knew Mason very well and he never does something like this unless he's very close to the person and has a soft spot for them. Why was Lexi different? Something is definitely going on. "Looking at you closely now and your personality, I've realized Mady takes after you. Even though you are the Luna, your aura isn't intimidating. Mason takes after the Alpha for sure. He believes he's always right and nothing ever riles him up..," her eyes widened when she realized what she had just said. She hurriedly bowed her head.

"Forgive me for blabbering about stupid things Luna. How could I dare speak about the Alpha like that..," I chuckled, cutting her off. She looked so adorable that I couldn't help it. She looked up at me in surprise.

"Don't worry. Whatever we discuss here, remains here. Nobody will ever replace out," I said with a wink. She sighed in relief.

"Mason can be a bit unusual, I know but when you get to know him, you will realize that he's actually the sweetest. Things aren't always as they seem," I continued.

"I doubt that," she mumbled but I heard her.

"Before I became Luna, did you know I was an omega who worked for my husbands?" I asked.

She gasped in shock. "No way."

"That's why I told you things aren't always as they seem. You might think I had all these on a platter of gold but lots of sacrifices had to be made before I got to where I am. Everyone knows about it and I know people secretly whisper about it behind my back but I'm not ashamed of my past," I explained.

"Anyone who speaks about you behind your back must be a coward who is jealous of your success and bravery because I know I am. To be able to go through all that, grow into this and raise lovely kids shows how brave of a woman you are," she replied. "I don't think I can ever do that," she whispered the last part.

"You can. No matter what you are going through, you will pass through that phase and come out stronger. And if you need anyone to help, I will always be there. You can come replace me anytime," I assured her with a smile. Luckily for me, John was right there by my side to keep me sane. I would have never been able to be where I am right now without him. My mental health would have been worse.

"Thank you Luna. You are so kind. No stranger has shown me this much kindness in a very long time," she muttered in a shaky voice trying to hold back her tears.

"You are no stranger. You are Mady's friend which makes you part of the family now. Although, Alex would need more convincing after you spilled a drink on his shirt," I said with a laugh. She chuckled in response. My phone suddenly rang. I glanced at it and it was Ria.

"I will see you some other time," I said to her with a smile hurrying out of the bathroom.

"Have a nice day Luna and thank you for everything," she called out after me.

"You are welcome," I replied, picking up the phone. "Hello Ria?"

"Where are you? I've been waiting," she replied. She drove me over here and was now waiting in the car.

"I will be right there. I got caught up..," I trailed when I saw Mason walking towards me. He tried to turn around when he caught sight of me.

"Mason," I called and he stopped abruptly. I walked towards him. "Ria, hold on."

"What are you doing here?" he asked calmly.

"I came to sort out some things regarding the trip. I went shopping for you and your sister. You won't believe..," I started excitedly but he cut me off.

"Shopping again? Mady and I already have more than we can use. Why bother?" I asked.

"Really? I thought kids your age like those types of things. At least Mady does. I just want you both to have what I never had when I was your age. I want the best for you and I thought it would make you happy," I explained.

"If it makes you happy, then it's fine. You can shop for as many clothes as you want. I need to go now. My teacher is here," he replied and walked into the class. The students and teachers passing by all bowed and greeted me but I barely heard them. I slowly walked towards the parking lot where Ria was waiting.

"You look gloomy. Did something happen?" she asked as soon as she spotted me. I got in with a sigh.

"We aren't going to the spa with your face like that. Tell me what's wrong," she said, turning towards me. "It's Mason. He's upset with me," I replied.

"Why?" she asked.

"He found out that I was seeing a psychologist," I confessed. There were no secrets between the both of us.

"What? How did he replace out? You told him?" she asked in surprise.

"Worse. He found the card in my bag before the party. How could I have been so careless?" I inquired in a frustrated tone.

"Calm down Emma. It's not your fault. Do the boys and Mady know?" she asked.

"I told the triplets but Mady doesn't know. I'm sure Mason would never tell her. He hates to see her upset," I replied. That was one thing I was grateful for. I didn't teach them how to look out for one another but they've been so great at it.

"I'm sure he will be fine. You need to relax. Let's go to the spa and you can get a massage. Bills on me," she said.

"Thank you so much. How can I ever compete with you wealthy people?" I asked sarcastically. We both burst into laughter. I was feeling lighter already by just speaking to Ria.

"Everything will be fine. I know it will," she assured me confidently.

"I hope so," I muttered, leaning back into the car seat to rest my head.
