Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 1104

In the evening, they arrived at the flood-stricken village.

From a distance, they could see the flood surrounding the village.

At present, it was hard to tell the casualties, but many people had climbed to the roofs to avoid being drowned. It seemed that the situation was not that bad.

After the vehicles were parked, everyone got out. No one wasted any time and was busy with what they should do.

They finished setting up the medical rescue site first, and two soldiers were left here to help. After that, Adam took the rest of the people to rescue.

It was unlike the situation when they were in the worst-hit area. Now, only a small number of people returned. The medical team had only seven people, including Vincent, Anthea, and Leonardo. And there were fifteen people in the rescue team. Therefore, the tasks were pretty heavy for them.

As the rescue team successfully rescued the trapped residents one by one, the medical workers in the medical site became increasingly busy.

Few of the residents were in their prime, and the majority were elders with their left-behind grandchildren. Some of them even had some trouble with walking, making the rescue even more difficult. Outside the tent, Anthea could often see running figures in military uniforms.

When it was past nine o'clock in the night, she collapsed in the chair and was too exhausted to get up.

Leonardo was not far away from her. He was not so good at medicine, but he could do a lot of odd jobs. At this time, he was also tired and parched, so he yelled, "Anthea, get me a bottle of water!" "You go get by yourself. I feel dead on my feet!" Anthea did not move at all.

"Damn, you're so ruthless!" Leonardo cried, "It's on the shelf behind you! As long as you get up and stretch your arm, you can reach it!"

Anthea was too lazy to move an inch, saying, "I can't even lift a finger now!"

But just when she finished, she stood up all of a sudden.

Leonardo thought she would get him some water to drink, but she rushed straight out of the tent and ran towards a tall and strong figure.

Just now, she was lying there like a boneless dog with no strength to hold a bottle of water. Now, upon seeing Adam, she darted out like a puppy seeing a bone!

Leonardo was so angry that he kept scolding her for being so cruel to a friend and being so nice to a boyfriend!

Anthea ran all the way to Adam and almost bumped into Adam when she suddenly stopped before him.

Adam stretched out his hands just in time to keep her steady.

In a hurry, Anthea stood firm. While smoothing her hair, she said, "You are finally back!"

"Hmm," Adam said, his big palm patting her head.

Anthea's heart gave a sudden leap due to his little intimate act. After she calmed down, she asked, "Are you tired?"

He had exactly the same appearance as when she first saw him at the previous disaster area - his military uniform was soaked, his clothes hems, cuffs, and boots were stained with mud, and his handsome face with a shadow of exhaustion.

"I'm alright." Adam gazed into her eyes as he asked, "What about you?"

"I'm fine too." Anthea bit her lips lightly.

At this time, members of the rescue team that had been sent out had come back. They walked to the military tents with their wet coats in their hands, and all of them were tired and drooped their heads. Anthea cast a casual look at them and asked in surprise, "Hey, why didn't I see Brother Declan? Didn't he come with you this time?"

After getting off the car in the evening, everyone was out for the rescue mission. However, she did not seem to see Declan all the time. The troop he belonged to should be in the charge of Adam. "Er, yes. He is back to the army." Adam said lightly.

"Really?" Anthea was very surprised.

Adam nodded and kept a straight face. "Yes, he suddenly has a special mission."

"Oh!" Anthea believed it and did not ask much.

However, Carter, standing next to Adam, shifted his eyes from his boss' face and shook his head with his arms around his shoulders.

There was no special task. It was just that Adam was unhappy whenever seeing Declan with Anthea. He did not want them to meet again. Thus, when they turned to this place, he deliberately assigned a task to Declan to transfer him away.

Hmm... So, she was the roots of troubles.

Only at this time did Anthea seem to notice Carter. She said in surprise, "Brother Carter, you're here too!"

Her words nearly made Carter cry.

He came together with Captain Chin! So, when she talked happily with Adam for a long time, she only saw him as one part of the background!

Carter felt like he was badly hurt.

To avoid further injury, he decided not to stay here any longer and took the initiative to say, "Captain Chin, take your time chatting with Mrs. Chin. I'll go over there and see if they have got the sleeping place ready!"

"Okay, go ahead." Adam nodded.

Anthea's cheeks turned red, and she asked shyly, "You let him call me like that, right?"

Carter called her Mrs. Chin.

She was so embarrassed that she felt completely at a loss just now.

"No." Adam shook his head and said faintly, "He is sensible enough."

Anthea was speechless.

When he saw her yawn, Adam said, "I'll take you home."

Then they walked to the tent side by side under the clear moon and the bright stars.

"Did you get all the trapped residents back?" Anthea asked him.

"Most of them," Adam answered seriously. "There are two families in the furthest part of the village. It's too dark, and the batteries of emergency lights are not running low, so we didn't dare to go there and bring them back rashly. We can't be sure about many things at night. No one knows how deep the water is and how dangerous it will be. Therefore, we will go to rescue them early tomorrow morning!"

"I see!" Anthea nodded.

Adam habitually took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it in her mouth. "We have sent some food to them. The flood won't rise, so there won't be any lifethreatening danger for them."

After listening to his words, Anthea praised him to his face, her eyes sparkling. "You are so amazing! You saved so many people!"

"Is that so?" Adam asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Of course!" Anthea nodded heavily. "You're like a superman."

Her pair of sparkling, enchanting eyes looked incredibly bright at night. It seemed that she could look right into his heart, her shining eyes full of love and worship, and she had no intention of hiding her emotions at all.

Adam was delightedly surprised and flattered.

He certainly could not take all the credits, for he was clear that everyone had contributed a lot of effort. Nevertheless, he felt proud when he heard his little girl's compliments.

The tent was just a few steps away. Though Anthea still wanted to talk more to him, she could not bear it when seeing him too tired.

She said to him, "You should go back to sleep early too. Don't you have to get up early to save people tomorrow?"

"Yes." Adam nodded.

Anthea added with concern, "Take care of yourself. Good night!"

"Good night!" The corner of Adam's lips curled up slightly.

Anthea took a few steps away. When she turned back, Adam, tall and strong, was still standing there.

By the red light of his burning cigarette, she could see him looking at her deeply with his dark eyes!

Under his gaze, Anthea felt her heart flipped.

She looked around and found no one paying attention to them.

With only a little hesitation, she suddenly ran back to Adam. She stood on her toes and gave him a quick kiss and ran into her tent with a blushing face.
