In the evening, they arrived at the flood-stricken village.

Carter called her Mrs. Chin.

Adam habitually took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it in her mouth. "We have sent some food to them. The flood won't rise, so there won't be any lifethreatening danger for them."

After listening to his words, Anthea praised him to his face, her eyes sparkling. "You are so amazing! You saved so many people!"

"Is that so?" Adam asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Of course!" Anthea nodded heavily. "You're like a superman."

Her pair of sparkling, enchanting eyes looked incredibly bright at night. It seemed that she could look right into his heart, her shining eyes full of love and worship, and she had no intention of hiding her emotions at all.

Adam was delightedly surprised and flattered.

He certainly could not take all the credits, for he was clear that everyone had contributed a lot of effort. Nevertheless, he felt proud when he heard his little girl's compliments.

The tent was just a few steps away. Though Anthea still wanted to talk more to him, she could not bear it when seeing him too tired.

She said to him, "You should go back to sleep early too. Don't you have to get up early to save people tomorrow?"

"Yes." Adam nodded.

Anthea added with concern, "Take care of yourself. Good night!"

"Good night!" The corner of Adam's lips curled up slightly.

Anthea took a few steps away. When she turned back, Adam, tall and strong, was still standing there.

By the red light of his burning cigarette, she could see him looking at her deeply with his dark eyes!

Under his gaze, Anthea felt her heart flipped.

She looked around and found no one paying attention to them.

With only a little hesitation, she suddenly ran back to Adam. She stood on her toes and gave him a quick kiss and ran into her tent with a blushing face.
