” Enough with the Sir bullshit , you have been more like my son than your own father’s son. Your mate is like my daughter-in-law now, just like Anthea. If you think you have to do this because there was even a chance we thought of handing her over, you are wrong. ” The previous alpha snaps and I feel a warmth spread over me I hadn’t known I needed. I guess somewhere deep down , I thought they would choose to kick me out over risking Anthea and their grandpups.

I didn’t know what came over me , maybe I was so filled with emotion. I wouldn’t normally be so bold. Or forward. I liked the previous alpha but the big guy was scary as hell , just like his son. He opened his other arm up and I was confused until Devon stepped in. ” You two be safe ” he grunted out as he squeezed us both in.

Then he let go, stepping back . ” Everyone in the pack is ready to go , whenever you call us. Be safe ” he mumbled again, before turning and Peter walking beside him back to the packland. I was faintly impressed with how he needed no guidance even though blindfolded. Maybe Wolf senses. ” What no hug for me dad ? “Enzo called after him , his voice full of humour. The previous alpha lifted his hand up and flagged him off, never turning back around ” Your getting soft old man “. Enzo chuckled.

” Carry on lad, I will whip this blindfold off and we will see who is soft. I will still kick your a*s pup ” he shouted, and kept walking. ” Oh Anthea , your mother is sending you some food also. She said she would try not to burn it. Don’t worry, your other mom is overseeing it. So she doesn’t poison our grand pups with food poisoning ” Anthea giggled and at my confused glance she shrugged. ” My mum was never a great cook. I took over cooking as soon as I was old enough “, she explained.

“OK ” I smiled and looked at Anthea and Penny. ” Shall we do this , those two first ” I said nervously , my voice shaking and pointing at Penny and Ryken. We went into the building we had been sleeping in. Penny and Ryken held hands and he leaned down and kissed her on the head. I saw how sweet he was with her and how much my cousin was coming out of her shell. It made my heart burst with happiness for her , and it gave me more to fight for. For my mate , my cousin and her chance at love and the new family waiting for me. The guys stood back and me and Anthea held each other’s hands. ” Don’t let me go too deep into the darkness, OK ” I whispered to her , fearing tapping into the black magic was always a risk. Especially right now, with so much hatred in my heart for those that wish to hurt us. She squeezed my hand. ” Concentrate really hard, Violet, and feel the babies through my magic , feel their light. When you’re around, they send this rush of love around me. I don’t quite understand it. But they know you ” she whispers. I looked at her confused , and gasped at the warmth that came over my hand that was connected to hers at first and then it shot to my heart and almost made me start to weep. ” They know you , and it seems they already love you. My babies would love a bad person or a person that could ever be bad “. I felt the tears freely falling. ” What does it mean ? “I asked her and she shrugged.

” It only started maybe three days ago. I don’t know why. With all this going on, I thought it best to wait and figure it out. But it was like all of a sudden they felt this connection to you. ” I let out a sob and looked at her belly. ” May I ? ” I asked her and she nodded. Letting go of her hand, I slowly placed it on her stomach and that same warmth spread into my hand. I looked up at her shocked and we both started laughing. Taking my hand off of her stomach, I wiped my eyes. ” Shall we ? ” I said, trying to clear the lump in my throat, and held my hand back out to Anthea. She took it easily and then we got to work.

Minutes later, both Pennya and Ryken were looking down at their bodies weirdly. ” This is seriously trippy.” Came out of Penny’s mouth , Ryken looked freaked out. ” I have never felt so physically strong ” his deep voice grunted. Penny or should I say Ryken, held Penny’s hand out palm up and started at it. I wondered what he was doing until flames danced out of her palm and her lips smiled. ” I think I’ll get the hang of this easily ” he said in her voice before closing her hand, putting the flames out. ” Don’t show off ” she rolled his eyes and huffed. ” How am I meant to know how to fly ” she whined in his voice and the whole interaction was frying my brain cells. ” Easy my fire , just let my dragon guide you he would protect you with his life. ” Now that was a trip to watch ” came Enzo’s amazed voice. Breaking apart , I opened my eyes slowly and saw my own eyes looking back at me. My eyes darted across my new face as they opened and a slow smirk appeared on my lips. ” Damn, I’m a fine man “, Devon said in my voice and I couldn’t help the smirk that appeared on my lips. I laughed, my laugh coming out deeper and stepped back looking at the rest of them.

A tingling sensation ran down my back , like a horrid shadow of blackness. They were here , like they wanted me to know that they were near. They let me feel them. Thankful they didn’t have wolves hearing. I whispered ” They have arrived ” in a low barley hearable whisper. Everyone seemed to tense. We had not expected them to come this quickly , but I guess they were impatient to get this show on the road. They wanted their son back and they wanted me. Now my parents were dead , they had hit the fast forward button on what they had always planned. I am guessing their son was in a sleeping state, making them that bit more impatient.

Enzo cleared his throat. ” Devon , Ryken , we need to go meet the panthers and discuss the protection schedule , girls, will you be OK on yourself for a while ? We will leave a guard at the door. Don’t go anywhere until we come back ” he snaps , kicking the plan into gear and parting us from them. I looked at Devon, at myself , stepping forward, I kissed my lips and then rested our foreheads together. Hoping he got what I was saying without words. A girly giggle left his lips ” Devon, I will only be here , don’t worry about me. I love you OK ” he says, telling me he got it. Taking a steadying breath, I said what he would say, ” With those black eyes assholes around, I don’t want to leave your side. Stay here. Do not move, I’ll be right back. ” With that, I moved away from him and followed in step with Enzo. I hated I was sending him into the danger intended for me. But this way we could replace where they were hiding. The show had begun.
