Rejected, Broken And Forgotten -
Chapter 64
Paris’s POV
We are all sitting around scanning the internet and tabloids about stories about werewolves, and I come across a report on the internet. I know vampires and humans want to make humans afraid of werewolves. So there must be stories of werewolves’ sightings on the internet and the tabloid.
“Listen to this one: I went camping with some friends, but I got lost in the mist and could not replace my friends. I walked on, and eventually came a bloodied pink hat my one friend was wearing. As I walked along, I found glasses that had been crushed and a back bag. I came across a cave where I thought I could hide until the mist cleared. I was afraid, but as I was near the cave, I heard something eating flesh, and I could tell it was flesh as it made that sound when you cut into moist meat. I walked into the cave and lit my lighter to see who was in there, hoping it was my friend. But as I lit the lighter, I saw yellow eyes staring at me and creatures I can only describe as werewolves. Like the ones, we see in horror movies. I ran, but they did not follow me, and eventually, I got on a hiking trail out of the park. But as I reported it to the rangers, they looked at me as a suspect that killed my friends. I told them to go and look at the cave, but they would not believe me and never went to the cave. Luckily, they could not arrest me for murder as no evidence supports their theory that I killed my friends. I believe there are creatures we do not know of and are dangerous,” I read, and the rest look at me.
“They did not change him down as they wanted a witness against werewolves,” Miriam says.
“Here is another story: I went through a breakup, and my friends saw that I was very depressed. He invited me to his parent’s cabin for the weekend, and I decided it was a good idea to get away and clear my head. So I went with my friend to the cabin not far from where we were staying. That afternoon when we arrived at the cabin, we went for a walk as he wanted to show me the most beautiful sunset I would ever see. As we walked, he seemed at ease, but I was not. It felt like something was watching us from the woods all the time. Then we got to a clearing, and a rotten smell hit us. Like something was killed. We walked on, hoping to pass the scent, but then we got to a half-eaten carcass of a deer. He joked and said it looked like we got to bigfoot’s liar, but then we heard a howl like a wolf. I started running back to the cabin, followed by my friends. We were all shaken up, but as we lay in bed that night, we heard something hitting the cabin. I was scared shitless and prayed that the new day would come. The following morning the cabin was covered in the remains of the dear we saw next to the road. We got out of there as fast as we could, but not before we saw the big wolflike prints in the sand around the cabin. It was funny that there were only two pints and not like four as a normal wolf would leave, and how did it throw the meat and other things at the cabin if they did not have hands?” Walker reads.
“Again, they left witnesses. They want people to be afraid of werewolves,” Jeff says.
“Here is an interesting one: I am an experienced outdoor man, and I go camping and hunting yearly. I also go camping at the same every year, but this year was different. During camping and fishing, I noticed something following me all the time. I can see a prominent black figure looking at me from the woods. At first, I thought it was a bear, but then I noticed it stood up on its hind legs, almost seven feet. I know no bear is that tall, even if it stood up on its hind legs. That night I fried my fish and set up my tent as always, but instead of sleeping in my tent, I went and slept under an old log where I knew whatever it was could not see or smell me. I also put my sleeping bag so it would think I was inside with a sweet shirt I had on that day so it could smell me. I waited until it came to my camp. I was surprised at how tall it really was, and the thing had huge muscles. It was half-human and half-wolf, like in the movies. It reminded me of a werewolf. I was so scared and lay as still as I could in the rotten wood. I knew the rotten wood would cover my scent and that the creature would not be able to see me inside the food log as I peep through a hole. All I can say is that the creature looks like half-man half -wolf. It was circling my tent, and the next day, I got out of there as fast as I could, but I swear I could still hear it following me,” Miriam says.
“Well, all these stories sound like they are trying to scare humans against us and the humans are too stupid to know we are their protectors,” I say.
“I know, but there are many of these stories and videos on the internet,” Jeff says.
He shows us a video of a trucker at a truck stop hearing the howls of wolves.
“There are no wolves in these woods. Guys, I am telling you that this is weird. Something is going on, or the government is hiding something from us. Are werewolves real?” The guy in the video asks. I am getting pissed off as I know we were once protecting the humans, and now our enemy is using us against the ones we are protecting.
“f**k them! We need to stop this, and we need to let humans know we are their protectors,” I say.
“Honey, how do we do that? You know as well as I do at the moment we are the bad guys in the story,” Walker says.
“I know, but we need to do something,” I say.
“We can always make the vampires look worse than the werewolves,” Jonathan says.
“How? They only come out at night, and they do not look as scary as we do,” Jeff says.
“They only look like walking corpses,” Kristina agrees. She does not take offense as she does not see herself as a vampire anymore, and I know it.
“Do you have a plan, Kristina?” I ask.
“I may, but I will first have to safe my brother, as I may need his help,” Kirstina says.
“Okay, so how do we safe your brother?” I ask. Kirstina looks surprised.
“Why would you want to help me save my brother? Queen, you are needed at your pack and your Kingdom. I can handle saving my brother,’ Kristina says,
“Bullshit! We are a family, and you are now part of us, and we want and will help you,” I say.
“That is right, my love. We will never let you do things on your own. You are not alone anymore, and you are part of our pack,” Wayne says.
“We need to train the pack to take over for when we have to leave, and we will have to send some of our men all over the world to warn the wolves what is happening and help them fight the vampires and the evil humans,” Walker says.
“We will go save my brother. Please, let Wayne and me do it, and I do not want to burden you extra,” Kristina begs us.
“Fine, but if you aren’t back in a day, we will come looking for you and see if you need help,” I say.
“My Queen, we may need a week, and I do not want you to put your life in danger,” Kristina says.
“I am your Queen, and I am supposed to protect you and not the other way around,” I say.
“I know, my Queen, but you gave us a chance, and I want to be there for you and protect you,” Kristina says as she and Wayne know that none of them would be here if it were not for Walker and me. I know they want to show their appreciation and bring us more fighters, but, also, I wouldn’t say I like to send them on a suicide mission on their own.
“We will help you, and I do not want to hear about it again,” I say.
“So what are we going to do? He is always near your father?” Walker asks.
“I have a plan. My father thinks I went on a mission to replace out about the werewolf Kingdoms, and I will tell him the Kingdoms no longer exist. I will get Roman alone and give him the ring. We will leave the next morning when my father can not follow us, but the human army may, and that is where we may need your help. We will pretend they ran into the dogmen and the dogmen killed them. They will realize they no longer have any control over most of the dogmen, and they will come after us as they will think it is me who got help and is helping the dogmen. You can then go back to the Kingdom and let us fight them here and keep them busy while you replace a way to attack them and kill all of them, then humans included that want to harm their own kind and the werewolves,” Kristina says,
“How will only a handful of you fight them unless we leave you an army? Like the packs here?” I say.
“I would love to have an army, my Queen, but it will take time to unite the packs here,” Kristina says.
“Not if we get the help of a mighty magical wolf that can try to mind-link us with all the packs in the states and beyond the borders,” Walker says as he looks at Miriam.
“The shamans and I will get right on it, King,” Miriam says. She takes the magical wolves aside, and I can only assume she is telling them what we want.
“We will have to do some research, but I am sure there must be an old spell that can help us,” Miriam says as she returns.
“Come with me,” Ace says to Miriam, and the two walk into the packhouse. I can see Jonathan is not happy that he is not invited, but Ace and Miriam are magical wolves and will have to work together sometimes, and Jonathan will have to get used to it. After about an hour, Miriam and Ace walk out of the packhouse, and they have a big book with them.
“Sorry we took so long, but we had to search for the book,” Ace says.
“What book?” Jonathan asks, and I can see he is a little jealous.
“The book of the elders, my love,” Miriam says.
“Okay, so how will it help us, darling?” Jonathan asks, happy now that Miriam called him her love in front of Ace.
“Well, it has the oldest spells in the history of the world. The wolves here are much older than those in Europe, and they know much more,” Miriam says. I walk closer and touch the book as soon as it starts glowing, and I pull my hand back, and Walker walks closer. He touches the book, and it also glows.
“Wow, both of you touch it,” Miriam says. We do as she says, and it feels like all the knowledge of the past flows into me. I know the history of all werewolves worldwide, how they got there, when they got here and why they got here.
“I know everything about the werewolf history,” I say.
“So do I,” Walker says.
“Well, them tell us how to link all of them,” Miriam says, and Walker and I can tell her how to do it as we know how wolves communicated in the past.
