Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 160

In an abandoned building on the outskirts of Lisle.

The members of Angeles were gathered here, and several briefcases filled with weapons lay before them.

"An AK-47, a product of the former Soviet Union... Is this the best they could get us? Those guys sure are cheap!"

"What's this shit... Mosca, Asesino, you two be damned. This SV-99 is also a product of the Soviet Union! As if that wasn't enough, it's not even new!"

"If not for the fact that we can't allow ourselves to be recognized, I would have brought my little treasure with me. I'm not even sure how we're supposed to carry out our mission with this garbage." The members griped incessantly.

A man with blond hair was their leader. His codename was Angel.

"That's enough," Angel said with a frown. "I don't think I need to remind you that we're no longer in South America. We're lucky we were able to get our hands on these weapons in such a short time.

"Remember, we have to capture the target alive. If we do end up killing instead, try to keep the head intact. We'll need to bring it to our employer as proof that the mission was completed. We'll take action around midnight. You should choose your equipment in advance. Once you're done, go rest. It's going to be a long day."

Although they were still dissatisfied, the burly men no longer complained. They mumbled to themselves and started sorting out the weapons.

"They say that this place is the bane of mercenaries, yet we're about to make a scene."

"I want to go all-out as we'll be out of here when we complete our mission tonight. Those soldiers can go eat shit!"

"Haha, I bet they're like the women here, boring and weak."

Eventually, the burly men chose weapons with high firepower.

Angel glanced at the clock and frowned. "Did we receive any news from Mosca? Do we have an idea of the target's routine? Also, did Sabueso finish checking the terrain? Did he replace a nice place we can use to ambush the target? Did Tortola study our retreat route? Were there any problems?"

Angel asked one question after another. Although the target was a single man, he would not get complacent. His careful self was one of the reasons they had survived up until now. After all, a single mistake could cost them their lives. Soon, it was 11 p.m.

The mercenaries were fully armed and ready to go. Their expressions were dead-serious, and none of them was in the mood to joke.

Angel pointed at Lisle's map and started explaining.

"The target lives in this hotel, and he seems to have no intention of going out today. Mosca has been waiting downstairs all this time, keeping an eye on him.

"From the looks of it, we'll have to make our way into the hotel, which raises the difficulty of the mission to three stars.

"Sabueso, Ametralladora, you'll lead the charge, and it'll be your duty to hold the entrance. Lobo, Arana, you'll take care of the security guards and take control of the elevator. As for the others, you'll follow me upstairs to seize the target.

"Remember, the whole operation will last only 5 minutes. We'll start at midnight and finish at 00:05. Synchronize your watches."

The mercenaries quickly synchronized their watches.

Angel raised his hand, and the others followed suit.

"Let's go!" they shouted in unison and started getting ready.

Unbeknownst to them, in a building less than a mile away, Black Dragon was watching everything that was happening on a screen.

That speech was not bad, but do these guys really think that they can cause trouble in our country without any repercussions? They sure are looking down on our Black Snake Brigade. By the way, are these guys really ranked top 20 worldwide? I've been spying on them for days now, and they don't have a clue.

Black Dragon grinned, took out his phone, and gave Adam a call. "Drake the Dragon, we've confirmed that there is no one in the surroundings. Do we proceed?"

Adam's cold voice came from the other end.

"Kill them all."

-

Back at the hotel.

Adam got out of the elevator and headed to the waiting area.

A man with brown hair sat in a chair. When he saw Adam approaching, he panicked a little. However, he quickly calmed down and acted as if nothing had happened.

This man was Mosca, the scout that Angeles had sent over to keep an eye on Adam.

Seeing Adam getting closer and closer, Mosca got up and turned to leave. He suspected that he had been discovered. Although he was not sure what gave him away, Mosca felt uneasy for some reason. The intuition he had developed after risking his life countless times on the battlefield told him that he was in danger.

He picked his pace, and when he was a dozen feet away from the entrance, he almost started running.

He reacted pretty fast...

Adam smiled and followed after him.

Mosca ran toward his car. He had just opened the door and was about to get in when Adam kicked it shut.

His leg was caught in the door and snapped as a result.

Adam said coldly, "You've been following me all day. Yet, when I come to you, you run away? Were you waiting for your friends? Why don't we look for them together?"

Mosca looked at Adam with an expression of disbelief.

Then, he tried to endure his pain and grinned. "Do you know what you're getting into?"

Snap!

Adam stepped on his other leg and snapped it as well before throwing Mosca into the passenger seat.

"Shut up and sit there." Adam started the car and stepped on the accelerator, leaving the parking lot.

At this time, not too far from the base of the mercenaries.

Black Dragon gestured with his hand and shouted, "Drake the Dragon gave us an order, it is to kill these intruders. Let them have a taste of the power of our military. They need to know why this country is the bane of mercenaries!"

The quiet night was about to become busy. With Black Dragon in the lead, the soldiers moved like shadows toward the abandoned building. They soon covered the distance that separated them from the target.

Black Dragon could hear the voices of his teammates through the headset.

"There's someone patrolling the roof. I could take them down with a sniper rifle, but it would alert the others, over."

"There's a guard on the second floor at 9 o'clock, over."

As the reports came in, Black Dragon pondered for a brief moment before saying, "Be discreet. We're the Black Snake Brigade, and making waves is not our style.

"The snipers are to keep an eye on the battlefield from a tall building. As for the others, you'll come with me. We're going to take them by surprise.

"I'll deal with the man on the roof. Team A is to divide its forces and deal with the sentry posts. Team B is in charge of taking care of the rest, over."

After doling out orders, Black Dragon approached the building with two soldiers in tow. One of them crouched down, while the other stepped on his shoulders. Black Dragon sprinted toward them and climbed onto the shoulders of the soldier on top, reaching the second floor.

The building was in ruins, and the walls were full of holes. This allowed the trio to reach the upper floors easily, all the way to the roof.

Black Dragon took off his shoes and stepped on the rough surface of the roof. The pebbles hurt his feet, but he did not make a noise as he proceeded forward.

On the edge of the roof, a man was looking around while holding a rifle, unaware that death was approaching.

The man happened to be chatting with his friends on the radio.

"I've heard that there is a certain Drake the Dragon in this country. According to the rumors, he defeated the eight legends by himself. Sounds like a load of bullshit to me.

"If he's really so incredible, why didn't he discover us already?"
